Bought a 3 piece suite at the Basildon branch, salesman very friendly and very pleased with the suite, but, delivery of it was diabolical!, we were asked to take early delivery, so got rid of all of our furniture only to be told at lunchtime on delivery day that the lorry broke down, we asked for delivery the next day, to be told at 5.30om that afternoon we would have to wait another 3 days, we and asked for compensation to be offered a hamper (2 bottles cheap Spanish plonk, a bag of peanuts a bag of popcorn and some chocolate pringles), then at 3.30pm on new delivery day we were told they?d lost the furniture and nothing would come till the next week! Bearing in mind we were sitting on garden furniture we complained again and finally got our furniture the next day. I wrote an email and asked for compensation, as they?d charged £100 for delivery, we would if thought a refund of that was the least they could offer, especially as my husband took 2 wasted days off work waiting for it, but no, a short sharp voicemail from some customer service employee who simply said, we?ve sent you a hamper, we won?t be doing anything else! Will never buy from them again. They really need to treat their customers better ?????????????????

I bought a corner sofa bed, turned up and I am very disappointed of the poor quality, is not solid at all, with a huge gap when converted into a sofa bed,this sofa is not complying with health and safety regulations! Trying to get it refunded is a nightmare, lots of lies from different departments and lots of appointments and time waisted,the sales representative that sold it to us turned very rude and arrogant, completely different person competing to the day he ordered it for us! I won't bother to buy from DFS, not worth the money!

The sofa is great which is why this rating is as high as it is. Most aspects around it are not great. Firstly, The Zendesk service needs attention. I was told by one call handler that a call back would come withing 24 hours, it seems the standard is 3 days. I was told my choice of sofa was not on display at the Basildon store by a different call handler, it was. The salesman is lucky I'm not naming him as he got a lot wrong. I was told the fabric would be £40 pm, it wasn't, it was £22 when I came to pay. A nice surprise but it makes a difference when deciding how much to buy. I was told it would arrive with the sofa, it didn't. No-one knew why not or how to resolve it. I called Zendesk and it was most unsatisfactory. Another different call handler was one of those who was having a one sided conversation for the benefit of the people around her in the room. She wasn't having a hard time with me and she wasn't helpful, just pedantic, sarcastic and obstructive. Beginning every sentence with 'obviously, actually' or 'basically' is kicking the problem back to the caller which is not what they're there for. Calls made to me have been much the same with one wanting to arrange delivery of the sofa that's been here for a week. The biggest issue that needs to be fact checked is that the salesman that served me at Basildon is telling people they are getting both the back and the seat cushions with a memory foam layer back and front of each, they're not. That's 8 pieces in all and that's what I thought I was paying for. It's not. The sofas are only ever made with memory foam on the seat cushions, when you pay for it. I did receive a voicemail message denying all as I expected but I was most definitely told 'front and back of all four cushions'. Which sofa I sat on when I was in the store is irrelevant to what I was told and I don't need things to be explained more clearly for me, I heard what I heard, it was unequivocal. Eventually, 8 days after the sofa delivery I was called to arrange the delivery of the fabric, with a text promised for a time slot the day before. Guess what? I didn't get one. The fabric did arrive, is correct and I did get a call from the driver 20 minutes before he arrived. It has a label on it saying 'to go with 59ZXH2410'. Subsequent enquiries have revealed it was in the service area all along and should have been put on the lorry. No apologies for any of the above have been received. So, 6 weeks and 5 days with my money for the sofa and another 9 days for the fabric. We'd been going back to this store for every sofa for the last 28 years but I wouldn't now. I advise to order online if you do at all, it's been like pulling teeth.

We had our leather three piece suite in cream for 4 years when the seating part on both chairs started to go black. As we paid for a guarantee for five years we rang the guarantee people only to be told that they do not cover that sort of problem, they told us to phone DFS which we did, only to be told that the suite was only insured for two years with them. They gave us a phone number to ring for people to come out to us - they charge £66 call out charge. I can?t believe that after paying for a guarantee and having a year left on it that no one wants to know. If you buy furniture from DFS don?t buy the guarantee it?s a waste of money!!!

Appalling!Sofa delivered in good time however upon installing the sofa we saw a hole in the side of it. We showed the installation team who took photos and said someone would be in touch. After chasing this up a week or so later the repairer came round and said he would have to order in the fabric and would be back in a few weeks.3 weeks later again we chase to be told 17 weeks for the fabric to come in . 17 weeks!!!Kicked right off that our brand new sofa would be like this for pretty much 6 months. We were due to be called on the 17th of feb . Guess what no call again . Phone to chase . Week later still nothing. Received an email stating the material will be in by the 13th of march.Buy elsewhere. These cowboys don?t give two rubs

Didn?t deliver full sofa, not been advised how long it will take for missing parts to arrive, haven?t had any call regarding missing items, haven?t been offered a replacement or refund & Basildon manager won?t call us to discuss, customer service is appalling.. check twitter before buying

Got to have a wander without any pressure. Approached by a lovely sales assistant, Asha, who listened to my needs, helping me choose the perfect sofa. The coffee was nice also. ? Very satisfied.
