The admin, doctor and assistant Sally were very polite, cheerful, professional, supportive and friendly. I had a check and training of how to wear my first in life eye contact lenses, and they all were very helpful and encouraging, I learned quite quickly and all instructions were very clear.

The optician I saw was brilliant; he explained things clearly so I understood what was happening with my eyes and was calm, friendly and patient with my anxiety. The hearing lady was brilliant too with my hearing check. Again, she was calm, patient and friendly and helped put me at ease.

Hi Boots Opticians,Thanks for your message. As I advised my opticians yesterday.I was in New Zealand and Specs avers offered free eye checks. There was nothing wrong with my vision u till I had this check. There lights were flashing at my eyes, and it was painful. Then they told me, I need glasses that costed $800.00. I was too frightened to go back. My friend gave me some spare glasses to wear. Now, I've returned to UK. I had eye check at Boots Lion Walk. And there were no flashing lights that blinded me. And all the staff were very helpful. And knew their products.A high standard of Customer service.

Very friendly staff. Didn?t have to wait long even though I was 10 minutes early for appointment. Explained the difference between lenses, so I had informed choice. Highly professional personnel.

I arrived nice and early as Boots had requested, but I was seen 45 minutes later than my appointment was booked for. Why ask me to arrive nice and early for me to then sit and wait for an hour?

I went into Boots in Colchester yesterday. I had my eyes tested back in May but due to my Daughter passing away I just could not decide on what glasses to purchase, my daughter was going to help me choose a pair. On the chance of me being able to stay in the shop on my own to choose a pair well infact two pairs. I was greeted by the most lovely helpful polite young lady her name was Sally also she was helped by Simon of whom was just as lovely and helpful.I never mentioned my daughter passing away. So Sally's thoughtfulness and loving way was very genuine.Could you please pass on my thanks to Sally and Simon.Thank you

If you don't have a debit or credit card you are not welcome at boots opticians as they don't take cash and when you point out you don't have cards they have know other option other than saying sorry the £600 lus bill for your family glasses you will have to go else where WHAT A STUPID POLICY they don't except what is legal tender glad to go elsewhere

Waited months for an appointment. Went in a week after eye test to collect glasses and nobody at the opticians reception for several.minutes. Staff members were going to the room behind the reception desk but they ignore anyone waiting. Not even the courtesy of an acknowledgement. Eventually someone came from the back office and went off to find my glasses. He found them but the prescription was missing. I asked if he could print a copy from their computer system but was told that 'legally he was not allowed to' Ridiculous!! Also wanted to buy some filters for my husband's hearing aids (bought from Boots) but no one can sell anything to do with audiology unless they are an audiologist...again ridiculous. One audiologist was 'not there' another had an customer on an appointment that meant he would not be available for over an hour. Does Boots take any notice of reviews? The customer service is dreadful.

I went for an eye test and I was prescribed a reading and a distance glasses. A photo was taken for my right eye and a couple of blood clots were found on my right eye. I was advised to go for eye screening test again. The distance glasses made me dizzy so I thought since my glasses were not properly made, I wanted to have another eye health check. I was diagnosed with right eye optic nerve swelling and I was referred to the eye clinic. How did boots failed to diagnose such a seriuos eye problem? Shame on you boots, you are overrated. You should close the opticians' section

Optometrist made a huge mistake at the eye test and told my wife her prescription had gone up from - 5 to - 8 in the last 2 years. Bear in mind my wife is 32, so not old at all to warrant an excessive shift in prescription without reason. We then had glasses made with this Boots store for close to £400 (in the wrong prescription). After wearing, wife has realised these are way too strong. Colchester Boots Opticians have said they have appointments for months to rectify this error, so go to Sudbury Boots Opticians.Today the wife has gone to Sudbury Boots Opticians and the optometrist has told her that instead of her prescription bring higher than her original prescription, it's actually lower. So she's got a new prescription, the correct one I presume, from a competent optom, again I presume.BUT - each Boots Optician is a standalone entity, so she can't get her wrong glasses rectified at Sudbury, she has to go back to Colchester where they were made.So here I am waiting with her at Colchester Boots Opticians and it has been 1 hour so far since we arrived.Always a queue of people and today is no different.Parking paid for by us on multiple occasions, petrol to Sudbury paid for by us on multiple occasions now. All for a mistake that a registered optometrist made, and not an easy mistake to make either - he absolutely bodged that first eye test up.

Absolutely appalling service.I took my disabled partner for a 2.20 appointment. When we arrived we were asked to take a seat and wait to be called. After waiting over 45 minutes I enquired how much longer we had to wait but couldn?t get an answer. They must have known there would be a delay when we arrived and could have informed us there would be a wait but nothing was said.We decided not to wait any longer and walked out.MY ADVICE IS NEVER BOOK AN EYE TEST AT BOOTS Their customer service is non exsistant
