Huge Thanks to Mazy at the Colchester Branch. Went above and beyond the call of duty to expedite the opening of my daughter's account with a print out of her card almost immediately. She took on board our need for urgency as time was of the essence for educational requirements. (Test centre needed an additional form of identity with a signature).

Called in yesterday to investigate a debit on a charity account I manage which I didn't recognise.Turned out it was caused by a system glitch within Metro.The problem was quickly investigated, identified and the debit immediately reversed.Metro is unlike the other banks on Colchester High Street, it has these strange things called people who are well trained and can respond to customers' needs.Well done!

Not my usual bank but so pleased we visited. After visiting Barclays to open my children a bank account and being told the nearest appointment was nearly two months away we wandered up the High Street and found ourselves in Metro bank. We were seen to almost immediately and were helped by a very helpful man who opened the accounts.We even left with the new debit cards and the apps set up on their phones. Very impressed. All this in the same day and without an appointment.

Colchester branch.This is my second visit over the last 2 weeks. Each time there has been 4 staff behind the counter but only 1 staff member dealing with enquiries and opening accounts. So far, I have been waiting an hour to see somebody. I feel the service somewhat lacking!! I deliberately avoided lunch times too.

Really disappointed...I have been waiting tellers have people but I have been instructed to wait for one specific desk, uts so annoying and time wasting. And rude as well.

If i have the chance to give a half star review i would have done thatAlready have an account tried to open a new additional account after opening it and sorting everything out i waited for the paper i need to sign for an hour then for the customer service representative to come and tell me we are very sorry i have to cancel your account because you upgraded your BRP if you can?t open it from the beginning why will you leave me almost an hour waiting

Tried to open a new business bank account up for my new business. Was told of a 6 week wait time because of a backlog. Very unhelpful!

Lauren was excellent from start to finish, friendly, professional and explained everything very well. Glad we chose this bank, particularly as its opening hours are excellent.

I have been banking with this bank for 3 years now. They also have a locker facility. The service in this bank is outstanding you get attention almost immediately and the staff come to you and ask you how they can help. The bank is open during week days until 8pm so there is plenty of time to go to the bank after work, also they are the only bank I know that is open in weekends. Highly recommended!

If I could give this bank 0 I would it doesn't deserve to exist after telling the numpty in fraud to not block my card she blocks it then unblocks it but takes so long about it my battery dies on my phone then blocks once I loose connection in my phone then when I refuail refuses to unblock it outs me through to customer services on hold for further 15 minutes after which it becomes out of hours joke bank ! After which neither the case for fraud on my app is raised and I can't purchase or buy anything till tomorrow morning I havent eaten all day due to this dipstick worst bank ever !

To all international StudentsI had an extremely good experience at Metro bank in Colchester.Today , i only spent 25 mins to open a student account , and Metro only requires BRP and certificate of registration (you only need to log in your Gradintelligence account , they will print it out for you)I am an international student here . During the lock-down, I could not successfully open an account at Barclay and they kept me back and forth for two months long and told me the wrong information every time. i have no idea that opening a new account would become difficulty for me.I highly recommend you to open your first the UK's Bank account with Metro Bank.

Absolutely not recommend. Apply for business account. Keep me waiting for 4 months and after4 months get email that not able to open business account. Call customer service and ask the why? Rude guy over phone say because I have closed my business account about 1 year ago there not going to spend time to open other one for me. Need to say previous account was deferent business. I am metro customer from 1st day bank open in Colchester and need to say absolutely no help or support from metro bank employee or customer service. There think if open door for you make them better bank. I can only recommend go to bigger and better bank. Definitely not recommend metro bank to anyone. I am going today to closed my account. Disgusting bank.

Very good bank to deal with. I have bank account with Metro since October and I dont have any issues.If I have any problems with account they always help me.Guy with beard is top metro bank man.
