Awful service for Christmas food order collection. Staff wouldn't let you join the queue early even though they weren't serving anyone. When the slot opened the queue was very long, the food wasn't on the shelves ready to be picked and was extremely slow. The till broke down and the gentleman in front of me was told cash only. Finally took us all the way through the store to pay but still didn't seem to know what they were doing and didn't bother explaining to those of us in the queue what was going on

Generally OK, however, the self scan tills are never generally all open and the biggest issue is they have no entry / exit signs at these tills and it can quite easily become a bit of a free for all.Since the previous store manager left (It seemed like he was there for less than a year) quite a noticeable change for the worst.

If I could give negative 10 feedback I would. I had an incident in June when a plastic bottle of flavoured milk fell off top shelf injuring my knee. Shop denies any liability and claims no CCTV available showing incident. Manager unhelpful and completed accident report with incorrect facts. I am not shopping there again and stopping use of M& S credit card. If anyone experience similar, even though suffering in pain, make sure you take photos/ videos at the time to prove what happened. I made the mistake of believing true facts would be disclosed afterwards.This branch is lack of customer care and should stop.

I used to shop here regularly but earlier this year I had a horrible experience with an (undercover) security guard who followed me around and later out of the shop before proceeding to snatch my bag from my shoulder on the street outside. It was especially traumatic as I was with my newborn baby in a buggy at the time. He was plain clothed with no ID badge and I had no idea he was a ?secret shopper?. He thought I had been stealing because I put an item of shopping into a shopping bag prior to paying as I was pushing a buggy and so couldn?t also push a trolley/basket. After the incident I complained to staff in the shop, in which the security guard maintained that he had every right to snatch my bag without introducing himself. Staff in the shop were kind but ultimately limited in what they could do. I complained to M&S head office but all they offered was to provide feedback to the third party employer of this man and advised that he would continue to work in the store.

Hugely disappointing! Today I went in with my church group and watched a member of staff shame a young black lady who she thought was stealing! Turns out the woman was just using scan and shop, she showed them that she was still scanning her items and that she wasn?t done shopping, she only had 3 things, they emptied out her bag on the floor and told her she seemed suspicious, they made a huge spectacle, everybody could hear what they were talking about because the shop is only small! One staff member said she?s seen her come in a lot of times and know she?s a loyal customer but the rest were so vicious! it was so sad to see it happen in this day an age! They made her leave and asked her never to return. I truly hope that woman is okay and has reported this. She went to the car park crying, we offered to pray for her but she seemed truly broken! I wish I have video taped it for the internet, just horrific from M&S Staff. I certainly will not be shopping at the Epping branch again

Great food but they leave half the "quick" tills closed despite large queues. Staff are left complaining and shouting that they re not allowed to open them. Also they keep moving everything around so finding anything is a constant chore.

Enlarged but restricted choice compared with main stores. No tills so had to use dreadful auto checkout which reduces rating by 2*.

Even though you call the 01992 number it doesn't go through to Epping it goes through to a sales advisor for online orders.You cant speak to anyone from Epping

Usually a lovely m&s and we shop here daily. Today I was scanning my food items and the girl monitoring the area asked me very abruptly if I'm going to pay for my 40p brussel Sprouts still in my bag. After scanning about £40 of food, I am surely not going to steal brussel sprouts?? Anyhow she stood watching me like a hawk to make sure I paid. Perhaps she needs to tone down her security monitoring issues. Poor experience!
