Handy local shop. Lovely friendly staff. Bit too expensive.

Popped in for a few essentials. Given it's a small store, the selection is limited, but we got what we needed. A couple of parking spaces out front, but there's a free car park just behind the store - much easier.

Staff are so friendly and helpful. They have a reasonably good selection of stock for a small supermarket

I'd really like to support the East of England Co-op - I respect their ethical approach, and the fact that they tend to source food more locally than other supermarkets. This store is also closer than any of the "real" supermarkets, being within easy cycling, and even walking, distance. However, they really don't d much to encourage. Stock here is inconsistent, so there's nothing close to a guarantee that they'll have what I need. The staff in store are mostly very friendly and helpful, which goes some way towards mitigating the negatives (management might care to consider that their staff are one of the few things saving them from oblivion). However, I then started to use the place regularly, and decided that I should apply for membership. Not only has the card not arrived after a month, but an email with details I would (allegedly...) be able to scan to add to my phone wallet has also never arrived, despite an initial welcome message being sent straight away. When I enquired with support about where it was, I received a response I can only describe as rude (and it's that that's prompted this review).Coupled with general amateurishness - customer self-service checkouts that won't work with bananas, and don't tell you that (so you scan everything else, and then....) I'm now returning to serious supemarkets which are managed by people who understand how to treat customers and how to run a business - the shorter journey to the Co-op simply isn't worth the the pain.

Bumping my review from 2* to 5* now that Co-op have begun introducing new vegan/vegetarian option in both the chilled & freezer sections. Extremely helpful, thank you.

I must make a VERY SPECIAL mention for the assistant with the long, blonde hair at Sible Hedingham Co Op. She's SO unhelpful. She behaved like a LOUT to my elderly disabled mother today. She looks like she's never had a happy day (or night) in her life, with the manners of a HYENA & ZERO customer service skills. She either needs a holiday, or to increase her medication.I don't know where the problem lies. It could well be that this particular employee doesn't feel supported in her job. Manager, if you're reading, I suggest you make your own enquiries.Tell me, off the top of your head, what two qualities should supermarket staff have? Take your time. She has neither. Nor anything else much.
