Really good food and service, good choice of light snacks and lunches and of course really scrumptious cakes !

The cafe is in a lovely barn with an amazing selection of cakes. The menu is friendly for meat eaters and vegetarians alike and they also welcome dogs inside which is a plus! The food has always been to a high standard and the only issue is that they regularly seem understaffed leading to slow service? not an issue if you?re not in a hurry though. Will return again soon.

We had a lovely lunch in the barn. We had coronation chicken and mozzarella and pesto sandwiches. The sandwiches were accompanied by salad and crisps. The portions were generous and the food was tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. We just tried this restaurant on spec as we were new to the area. We loved it!

Lots of space outside to park and has a small shop selling a few bits as well (including toys and groceries!) It's located in same barn as the Hyacinth Cafe / Tearoom - post office and shop on the right when you walk in, and cafe on the left.

We visited Hyacinth for the first time in a long while and it was well worth the visit. Excellent quality, food served hot, big portions and reasonably priced. The lady who served us was friendly and very attentive. Will certainly be our 'go to' cafe when we are next in the area and it will be sooner rather than later.

I?m a regular at the cafe and farm shop and love it. The food is always great, with helpful, friendly staff. I do think that the prices are very steep for the main meals for a local cafe, sometimes more expensive that pubs. Also, what really annoys me that the farm shop never has any prices on the products, especially the fresh fruit and veg. I often have a certain amount of money and too embarrassed to go and pay and then not have enough money. Other than that, it?s a lovely place with great food and staff.

Staff friendly atmosphere nice but food very pricey. Sandwich with bit of sun dried tomato, brie and piece of mushroom few crisps and salad and coffee £11.45!!

This is now the Hyacinth Tearoom (was previously in Halstead) Nice staff but a bit slow sometimes. Food ok to good. But the cakes!! You used to be able to get delicious traditional home-made cakes here - Victoria sandwich, fruit, coffee & walnut, Lemon drizzle etc. Now it's all really gooey 'drip' cakes. They might be a work of art, but there is no choice if you want coffee and cake. Not everyone wants that kind of cake so a choice would be lovely, One bonus is they are dog-friendly as there are a couple of indoor tables for them. Outside in good weather is very nice.

Such a lovely afternoon. Afternoon tea was splendid. Plenty of finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam snd cakes and fancies. Had such aovy afternoon. Staff were brilliant and very good value. Setting was magical and Christmas tree looked amazing. Thoroughly recommend this venue for a special occasion or just for lunch or afternoon coffee with friends.

What better place to have a wedding reception. Wow ?this venue and the staff are simply amazing. From the first day we met the manager to the last second before we left it was just amazing. My husband and I had the best day but having the Hyacinth afternoon tea for all our family and friends just made it for us. We 100% recommend this stunning venue for any occasion.. Even if it?s just a tea and cake. Myself and My Husband cannot thank you enough..

I've been to this cafe many times over the years. It's a very pleasant place and the staff are nice (if a little rushed). But the prices are very expensive at the moment - £6.80 for a latte and slice of cake is silly.

Such a lovely location, perfect for a summer?s afternoon in the sun! We stopped off here on our way to Sudbury for a few days, having been recommended by a friend. We weren?t disappointed. The garden was lovely and we really enjoyed watching all of the birds fly by while we sat and had lunch. The chicken and bacon Caesar salad was a delight. We?d highly recommend if you are ever passing.

Make sure you book! Having cycled 17 miles to get there. We were made to sit in a cold undercover area, uncomfortable close to others whilst tables in the sun lay empty because they were ?booked?. Two people arrived for ONE of these many tables as we were leaving. Poor show.
