Far too expensive

I understand that it is a charity shop and that money will be going towards a good thing, I have even run events for BHF. However the prices here are just too high for the demographic and they could be making more by selling more at lower prices. I am a bibliophile and like books, so always check what is out. The books are way over priced, when they say FROM a £1 (a sign by the books) they mean it. I can buy them brand new at the prices that are asking. Plus they do not rotate the stock. I worked in a couple of charity shops, one being only books, and what you do is each week clear the shelf and put a load of new stock up. Books would fly out and made more room for more books.

I was very disappointed to see the prices in this shop. Whilst I understand they are making money for a very good charity you can't justify the price of second hand goods that are much higher than the shop it came from. Today I saw a bag at 7.99 and in the shop (Primark) it was £4.00. The tall grey haired lady serving at the till wasn't only obnoxious she was down right rude to the customer in front of me and then when asked to read a price because I didn't have my glasses she snatched the box out of my hand then thrust it back at me. I won't be going back again. Over priced and rude customer service.

The British Heart Foundation shop in Southend is easy to find, situated at the sea end of the High Street, opposite the Royals Shopping centre. Helpful, pleasant and friendly staff are always on hand in this well-stocked and busy shop.
