Not very impressed dropped my wife's car off to have a new coolant pump fitted was assured it would be done today phoned up for update was assured vehicle was being worked on, then told car would not be ready, I explained my wife needed the vehicle for work. The lady working in halfords told me the mechanic would work late to get it ready I was very grateful for this. I got the taxi to the garage only to find it all locked up , I am now stranded thanks very much halfords really appreciate it.

If I would give a negative star review I would. I booked my car in for a 30 point safety check for 8:30am Saturday. At around 4pm they called me and told me they didn't get a chance to get to it so I had to bring it in the following Saturday at 8:30am. Again at around 3:30pm I went there as I hadn't heard anything and when I dropped it off I had asked them to make mine a priority as I have been rescheduled. My car still hadn't been looked at. I asked them to please do it as I need it done and couldn't bring it back again. They finally drove it in at 4pm and looked at it while I waited. After their inspection, they told me that I need to renew the front brake pads (£112.73), I need an oil & filter service (£134.99), I need an urgent renewal of both lower suspension wishbone arms front axle (£364.76), and coolant change (£39.99). August 2023 I purchased the car after it had a full service and full MOT. They told me if I was going for MOT now, I would fail it. They were pressuring me into doing the suspension wishbone arms urgently. They also told me that I had zero oil and zero coolant in my car and 'lucky you bought it in'. I was up for £652.47. Something didn't feel right about the mechanic that looked at my car. So I got a second opinion. Thank GOD. Nothing is wrong with my car. In fact, they have overfilled my oil by 1cm on the dip stick, so some of that had to be drained. They also over filled the coolant which isn't so much of a problem as the oil. So that tells me I was not low on the oil nor the coolant at all. Why would I have empty oil and coolant after only having the car for 5 months. I urge you... I REALLY URGE YOU not to go and get sucked in by this thieving mob. They even asked me to give them a positive Google review, so I'm so glad I got a second opinion. ALWAYS get a second opinion please! I will never deal with Halfords again because it's based on mechanics who are on a low base salary and get their money from sales they get to add on. They are liars and thieves. Beware!!!!

Asked me to bring my car down at 8am for an oil and filter service.Got to 13:00pm I called to chase it up and they said it hadn?t been done yet, I then chased again at gone 15:00pm for the member of staff to tell me I will need to go and pick it up because they?re at a standstill and haven?t managed to even get the car on the ramp yet as they had come to a standstill.Completely unacceptable to leave a customer without a car all day when they couldn?t fulfill the required and then to not even bother letting me know and I had to chase up is a joke.They apparently tell every customer to bring their cars down between 8-8:30am - which is a shambles.Terrible customer service.

I booked an air conditioning regas on the 8th for the 9th I was told that they would need the car for about 2 hours while this work was completed. They requested that I drop the car in at 8:30 in the morning and lead me to believe that the work would be completed by 11 am. I rang up at 11:15 and was told that the car had not gone on the ramp as yet.I then said that I would be calling head office to complain about getting people to drop their car off hours before it was needed. The managers response to this was if you're going to complain then I'm not going to do the work and you can pick up your car.The staff in store need to understand that there is a separation between complaints about an individual and that of the company policy. As this person took this personally it had ended up being a complaint about them as well.
