Not sure who they have working in there store on the 7th of Feb 24 but by god she s rude and barked over me about my insurance down the phone without giving me a chance to speak . When I did manage to get a word in, I explained on taking out my insurance nothing was explained. She just once again repeated herself like a robot n said she doesn?t know who was the store manager back then ??? Not sure what that has to do with my query ? Cus I never even asked about the store manager ? But I did say how the person who sold me the glasses wasn?t as rude . She then repeated her self like a robot again . A truly lovely branch and opticians. The staff are all so kind and welcoming. I have only recently began booking appointments for myself and they have been incredibly helpful with the process from helping me book them around college hours to explaining the process and answering any questions i have, no matter how small.They are truly so accommodating, as an autistic individual i have struggle with finding opticians that are patient and willing to repeat things and not patronise me, but the staff here are patient, kind and accommodating. I recently decided to switch to contact lenses and the staff were amazing in ensuring i got exactly what i needed from the quality of the lenses, training me in how to properly care for them and helping me set up the monthly subscription.Thank you to the entire team! I love my contact lenses and the confidence they bring me. I highly recommend this Vision Express branch to everyone.

Complete waste of time, they don't understand what you need and lazy staff go to an independent is my advice.

Absolutely appalling service, twice in as many weeks our appointment has been cancelled when we arrive at the store. Rude staff and no interest in looking for a way to resolve the issue not even willing to listen to our suggestions on how to resolve. No other customers in store so we could have easily seen another optician before other customers arrived. This is at least the 4th time now our appointments have been cancelled on arrival. This whole drama has also cost me two days wages and I?m now sending my kids back to school with out of date prescriptions in their glasses. Will not be returning.

I booked an Eye test online. It was confirmed and I had two reminders prior via text and email. My specs are 5 years old and I think need changing. I am attending eye hospital for glaucoma checks and injections for retinal vein occlusion. I received a tel call the day prior to my appt suggesting I was not due a free nhs eye test as I had had one a year ago. I explained all the above as the reason for my visit, but was told that I might be charged unless there was a change. I am retired and on a low income, and felt that I should cancel in the circumstances, so stated that I had better cancel then. The person I spoke to hung up before I had finished speaking. I was disappointed at the outcome, as I hadn't realised that nhs funded appts were once every two years, and very surprised at the apparent lack of respect shown by someone who clearly thought it was OK to hang up on me.

I visited this store today for an eye test. I was a little worried as I have always had perfect vision but recently been experiencing some issues. The staff were incredible, supportive informative, reassuring and professional. Both store staff and the optician were happy to answer all my questions and talk me through everything. I was served by Haj, and she is truly a credit to your company. She took the time to help me choose my first ever glasses, spent a load of time with me and didn?t make me feel rushed or like a nuisance.I would definitively recommend this store to anyone that asked! I would give 6 stars if I could!Thank you

After several years without an eye test and needing a driving application test, I decided to book in with Vision Express Southend. After making the phone appointment, I mentioned i required part of a medical application filled out with my eye examination results and stamped. They confirmed that wouldn't be a problem. I arrived at my allocated time and quickly realised that this shop needs an update, the chairs are old and worn out, the PC they use for part of the tests is on its last legs and doesn't even run their software. Only manage half of the test using the PC and eye test machines. I was ushered into the optician's room. I then explained again that I needed my eye test information added to a test form which I had printed out. I am then told they can only fill out this form if they have the entire document. I asked if they could print the PDF or if I could just pop back with the document. But this landed on deaf ears.I had taken the entire day off to have this important test, and instead of maybe saying they can do the test and I could pop back with the paperwork and they can stamp it. The abrupt optician point blank refused to do the eye test and said she will not be doing the test today. So I just had just to leave the shop. Is this a way to treat your customer? Was I asking for something unreasonable? I really don't think so. Not even a shall we re-book you in or anything... POOR!!!!Honestly the rudest customer service I have ever dealt with. I guess i'll be trying Specsavers instead for my Eye Test and glasses.

I had broken my reading glasses it started of at £25 than went up to £80 than it went to £200 as they said they have to tender out the lenses I found this is from last October I?ve been with them many years now but no more after today this country has become a joke it?s just to make money from the poor

after having a couple of visits to vision express where glasses were not correct decided to give them one last chance as have always been to vision express. Very friendly and most helpful staff especially Shafali Verma who told me she recognised my previous problems and reassured me that my new glasses would be correct, and she also advised me of the frames that she thought suited my face. True to her word I have picked up a pair of glasses today that are spot on and have indeed ordered a second pair. Thank you vision express.
