“This is my first in person visit to Asda since Covid. I have a annual Delivery pass, but thought would try an in person shop.First good thing I noticed was that the shopping trolley did not require a £1 coin. Other supermarkets should take note.I had forgotten just how big the store actually is and the layout was new to me. So I went up and down most of the isles.Enjoyable shop but I picked up much more than what was on my shopping list and therefore a heftier bill.Perhaps that was another reason I bought a delivery pass ?.The one good thing was I got some bargains as I crossed one reduced fresh fruit and vegetables isle where I got some excellent baby vine Tomatoes at a fraction of the normal cost as well as fresh raspberries. This ofcourse one would never be able to get on an online shop.It was good to see that the prices and promotions for some of items were the same online as they were in the normal shop. This I have found out by experience, is not the case with some other shops like Morrisons where the staff member has advised me the promotion online prices are not always available in store.I asked for assistance a few times and the staff were mostly friendly and responsive. When I finished my selection, I got one of the 3 manned tills. The wait was not long. I was served by a very nice happy, chatty lady.Once I paid for it, on the way out of the store, I noticed a section with hand held scanners. I enquired about this from a staff member who advised me to register my telephone number and then I would be able to shop.I did exactly that and the scanner was ready and it showed my first name on the scanner ready for the shop.As I had already shopped, I simply put the scanner back in the holster.Overall a very satisfying shop. Well done Asda.”
