Always takes ages even for the smallest thing. Also most DVLA services are advertised as available for the operators/owners of this franchise have no clue how to use the system. OK if you just want to send a letter only.

Whenever i go to collect my parcel it is shut during its stated opening hours. When it is open I was told that my parcel was out back and hadn't been sorted, they refused to look for it and told me they are too busy to deal with it

Front desk can no longer scan prepaid packages even though she was doing nothing and it takes 30 seconds to scan, weigh and print receipt. Having to wait 10+ minutes every time I want to post something. Ridiculous. Place needs new management or shutting down

Long queues, only 1 person serving. Avoid picking something up from Amazon here unless you want to wait ages!

Just had to collect god knows how many parcels from Wickford post office as they no longer take click and drop but never told anyone. All ebay sales that buyers are expecting. Thought I'd share the very professional letter sent to us from the so called post master. The place is never open when it's supposed to be either. If you can't be bothered postmaster sell the franchise

I/we use this branch about once or twice a month, & only bothering to leave a review due to the help they gave my partner two weeks ago, which was exceptional.Would not normally do so for 'just' a Post Office, but for your help that day, I truly thank you. Made all the difference when she fell ill.R.

This is not a review but a reply in response to some of comments. I work at this post office and would like customers to see things from our point of view regarding the pandemic and its current situation. I joined in february of this year after being out of retail for 7 yrs at the time there were 4 of us in there. Unfortunately a lady retired so i took her job, once the pandemic hit another member of staff had to shield due to having her mother living there and has been unable to return And our poor boss and his family contracted the virus and had to stay off for nearly 5 months. In this time we could have shut but he made the decision to stay open. Unfortunately we had to reduce our hours to allow this. In reply to Sammy Squib, no we cannot cope with amount of customers we now have but we are not like aldi, tescos etc, we are a small franchise that is struggling like everyone else to get back to normal!! He cannot replace staff at the moment and it is the post office not royal mail franchise. Hence the hours and yes i get people need the post office at weekends but do you not think that the staff deserve at least one day off themselves!! On the other end of the scale understand that for all our lovely and supportive customers there are also the rude, impatient and abusive ones. We tolerate this on a daily basis and still people complain. There are two of us in there and we do our best. There are also 3 other post offices in surrounding area which suffer with similar problems so maybe see it from a retailers point of view.

I've always found this post office to have helpful and friendly staff, but they have always suffered from being understaffed and unable to deal with the number of customers each day - resulting in large ques being the norm. This seems to have now contributed to them not being able to deal with the current virus situation as here we are right at the end of August 2020, with most businesses having found a way to operate normally weeks ago and the post office cant even open on their busiest day. We HAVE to still work, this means services HAVE to be available at weekends. And just to rub salt in the wound, the website still states the old opening hours. Awesome.Royal mail really needs to up its game and drag itself into the 21st century.

Always happy to help you out, I send a lot of smaller packages around the UK and around the world and the staff are always so helpful, patient and polite. Wouldn?t want to be without my local Post Office!
