Like many other brands we see in the UK today, GAP is one that started in the US and is close to celebrating its 50th anniversary after first opening in 1969. After expansion within the US, they saw an opportunity in the UK and decided to make the jump across the pond. Currently, there are around 140 stores (either GAP or one of their subsidiaries such as Banana Republic).
As a clothing store, this is where their main priority lies so they are often found within shopping centres and high streets. As well as clothing, they also produce accessories, footwear, bags, and more for both women, men, and children. In recent years, there have been many rumours surrounding the future of GAP after falling sales and some stores have already closed. However, for now they remain a prominent name in the UK marketplace!
