Absolutely terrible would not rate this pub at all my pregnant wife and I went in for a couple of evening drinks as we sat down my partner had touse the toilet, as she come out we decided to go elsewhere for drinks and as we were leaving the staff ridley shouted at us " what is your address, how would you like it if I just come to your house for a piss" could not believe we were spoken to in such aanor of disrespect. Stay as far away from this place as possible if you would like to have a nice evening

The welcome as you would expect, the local pub feel, the Sunday roast was well cooked, plenty of veg for options and lovely atmosphere. Good drinks quality and nothing was too much for the lovely staff. Always a pleasure to visit and enjoy and would highly recommend booking!

This is my first negative review to post, I am normally of the opinion if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all! - However I need to try and save anyone else the experience I had in this establishment. It was a rugby weekend and accommodation was sparse so we ended up in this place... the bar is ok in fairness the accommodation is a completely different story grim would be a happy place in comparison. The smell of must (I am telling myself it was must) on the stairs was beyond horrific, the rooms are like something out of a 1950's tenement.. tiny bed the toilet didn't flush the bathroom floor was creaky and sticky!!. Charging £180 you actually couldn't make up how horrible this place is... do not stay here!

Having spent 3 entirely satisfactory nights in The Premier Inn in Seaton Devon I had looked for somewhere a bit more ?special? for an overnight stay on our way back to Cumbria. Whilst the building looks a bit like the website the latter must have been taken by an estate agent, it definitely made the best of it. Parking in the layby outside the hotel and unloading we went into the pub bar?.OK its a pub! The staff had difficulty finding our key and the code for the ?residents entrance?, eventually we were led to our room??.after they had found the key for the door giving access to the stairs, which smelled between musty and something dead we struggled up long, narrow stairs to our room which was small and cleanish but very dated, with a ?lovely? view of back yards and the local spray shop. We went out for a meal and on our return popped into the bar to ask if the £99 we had prepaid covered breakfast?..It did not and no they couldn?t really do breakfast, but they could put a few bits in a box for us, for a further £7.50. We made our displeasure known but got no form of apology or offer of compensation. We returned to our room not liking the idea of staying overnight?.the stairs still smelled awful! I went on line and booked a night in a Premier Inn, including continental breakfast for the princely sum of £71, we repacked and left, via the residents entrance, leaving the key in the room door, not wanting to have a confrontation with the staff in the bar downstairs and without much hope of getting any money back. What should have been a special stay was only saved by getting the night at the Premier Inn and at the loss of £99. We will not be back at The Linden Tree and suggest that you don?t even consider it for an overnight stay.

This is what you expect from a great local pub. Good food, good beer, excellent, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. It's our local and we love it, and so does everyone, family and friends we have taken there.

We have just finished a 10 night stay at the Linden Tree. Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are equipped with everything that you need. The beds are comfy-something that?s needed after a long day. The linden tree is family friendly and comes with a communal kitchen, great for having little ones. My children are both 7 and it was nice to be able to have somewhere to go in the morning to make them some breakfast instead off in the room. The communal kitchen comes with a fridge, we used this for our milk and just brought down what we needed to the room each day. Given the chance again we would happily stay. Thank you.

Decent pub. Friendly. Good well kept cask ale. Don?t go expecting craft IPA, NEIPAs, DIPAs, Sours and the like mind? which is a shame. Looked like the food was OK. There is some gin. Toilets are clean. Dogs allowed. Played Skittles. Used e-dukebox.

Sitting by an open fire on a cold Sunday afternoon we knew we were in for a treat as the aroma of the carvery reached us. We had been welcomed by Kaz and Steve earlier and settled down. The Linden Tree has a traditional decor and quiz nights and pool tournaments are organised. There is a skittle alley too. The food is always tasty and fresh and I especially enjoy the Sunday lunch which has a good choice of meats and vegetables and is amazing value. I recommend adding more roast potatoes than you think you'll eat....they're so tasty you'll soon polish them off!
