Well that was a let down this time haven't been here in a while, what's happened it 30 minutes to get seen at the table because there there only one person taking orders and then when the food arrives it was stone cold, the couscous was dry and tastelessPls get it sorted need more staff and some one who knows timing in the kitchen also the toilet needs a cleaner and a revamp

A semi decent selection of plants, but that restaurant?! Why have 1 person serving the entire restaurant on their own and let people just come in and sit down only for them to be ignored by every other member of staff. 4 people making coffee and 1 person serving, very poor staff management, won't be back

AVOIDMothers Day no Sunday Lunch or fish & chips available.Toasted sandwich took forever to arrive.Called in 2 weeks later on our journey home & unbelievably it was worse.Staff are few & look very unhappy.Cue managers cut n paste reply.

Always a long, long wait, even for a simple drink. Today it was close to 40 minutes for a coffee even though the place was two-thirds empty. The whole place feels like staff are working as hard as they can but are just not that well managed. Tables weren't cleared and the floor was filthy. This isn't new - there were long waits during our previous visits too; we keep coming back for our free Dobbies Club drinks - which are reasonably good coffees, actually - but we're increasingly feeling that it's just not worth it.

45minutes in a queue.... despite not many people. Terrible wait time, inefficient, poorly managed and no acknowledgement or apologies. Very dirty and tables not cleared or cleaned.

Slightly awkward system for ordering drinks in the soft play if you go on your own with a child. You can?t order a drink before entering as you have to find a table number first. So you have to take your very excited child into soft play & then take them out again to go and order a drink, as they can?t be left unattended. Maybe some children are ok with this but mine certainly isn?t. Once they are in the soft play it?s very hard to extract them & stand nicely in a queue. It might be more successful if you are given a table number & option to order when you pay to go in. I stayed for our 1hr and didn?t buy any refreshments.

Unorganised and no system..Debbie (who was lovely but exhausted) our server was running around trying to take orders and serve everybody, while 4 people were in the kitchen training people how to make coffee. Ridiculous to train while there are lots of customers waiting. Took 20 mins to take our order. I remember Dan, who was managing before.. customer service seemed to be at the top of his agenda. This place has gone down hill.

Very disappointing scone. First one fell to bits, second one just as bad. Small glass is milk for my son cost £1.29.

Had to queue for 15 mins. to order. No bacon available for brie bacon & cranberry toastie so ordererd without bacon, Ordered cheese & ham toastie but was given tomato and some sort of tasteless soft cheese. There was no discount for the lack of bacon but was told I would be offered some refund for the lack of ham in my toastie if I went to the till. I neednt have bothered as I had the grand sum of 30p as a refund. Goodness knows what type of ham they use that would cost 30p!!! This was at 12.30pm and they had run out of bacon already. Also I was quite shocked at the jump in their prices as I had been a few months before and the prices were nowhere near as expensive. Needless to say I will not be using this cafe/restaurant again.

Very short staffed cafe yet again. Feel for the staff working hard to get orders in, clear tables, clean and serve, let alone the food preparation staff. Dobbies management, please read your reviews properly as your half hearted replies to comments when people complain about the cafe service are not being acted upon. You need more than a couple of staff in each area. Nearly an hour before we got our coffee then finished it before breakfast arrived. This makes the experience poor for your visitors and demorilises your hard working staff.

Went to dobbies Gloucester,waited for table,eventually got seated,a very long wait to be served,several others getting cross,some walked out,people raising arms to be served,ignored,totally not enough staff sooo totally dis organised . When we finally after about half hour got to order,then about ten mins later,dinner arrived cold to be sent back,did not enjoy lunch at all,be a long time before if ever visit again,please get some staff,totally spoiling the visit to dobbies ??

Unfortunately Dobbies Gloucester are still getting it very wrong, reading the reviews I?m afraid I have to agree, and the shame is that reviews from a couple of years ago till now, there still isn't any improvement,or lessons learnt - amazed that Dobbies seem so willing to lose such a great income stream. We went in today at 10.30am, hardly anyone in the restaurant, we were seated quickly and then waited and waited and waited, it seemed to me that they were more interested in cleaning instead of taking our order so we gave up and got a coffee and cake instead. So my overriding observations are, that the staff lack basic training and prioritisation, so for example taking customer orders first then clearing and cleaning while the order is being prepared, When we left having had coffee and cake we noticed a couple who had come in just after us were still waiting for someone to take their order!!
