Visited for breakfast and a Christmas look around. Staff in restaurant are completely disinterested in being there or serving. Don't expect a smile. The food was good but the atmosphere was cold (literally; no heating) and soulless. Walking around the rest of the place only one staff member smiled and said hello. She was at the till so had to speak but I did get the feeling she's the sort to inject life into her life. She needs to teach the others. Toilets had no hand towel and hand drier not working. All the gifts I wanted to buy were expensive compared to other chain garden centres I've visited recently. This was a long drive to get to as I thought Hillier would be good. I'm not sure I'll return.

Garden centre is a nice place. Visited the cafe while there on Sunday, the 2 young girls were lovely but the older lady was rude. Definitely won't be going back in if she is there on next visit.

Had a really lovely afternoon, spending time looking at all the well looked after plants. Very good variety of plants and very competitive prices on all products they sell... Thankyou

We have supported Lechlade garden centre for a long time through thick and thin. Unfortunately, today they were at their thinnest, abysmal would be putting it politely. We arrived with the idea of having lunch but weren't told it would be an hour and a half wait until after we had ordered drinks and pudding. I suppose we could have just walked out, but we're to Engish and consumed what we had ordered, had a quick look around and decided to leave. However, on the way out we passed the restaurant entrance to find that they were re-postong the menu as if nothing was wrong. Too English to find out if the waiting time had reduced, we made our way out, but won't be visiting again any time soon.

Don?t order here or any Hillier GC if you have any allergy or intolerance, they will refuse to serve you food. Wanted to have a jacket potato for my lunch, something that is low risk for someone with coeliac disease, but because of this disease they flat out refused to make it for me, despite me telling them multiple times it?s my decision to make the risk of eating there. Manager was rude and didn?t care, appalling.

Bought a few plants, then went for the cream tea. It's a shame the jam is cheap catering, rather than a nicer quality.Very busy, long queue - but appreciate that they are short staffed

We went to see if they were suitable for visits from care homes they passed. Large roomy cafe, sell gifts and plants, also clothing. With disabled entraces and toilets.

Great place to visit, especially when the sun's out. A large range of plants, flowers, cacti, shrubs etc. The obligatory cafe full of old people. Pop in if you're in the area.

Amazing day with half price plants. (Thursday 9 June). Filled trolley, purchased tree in morning and delivered in afternoon by very polite and helpful Gary who really cares about his cargo. Well done. Am really pleased with plants and service.

Love this place was so much better than other garden centres we've been to and the staff actully know their plants too! If not they have a go to plant person they can call on the ear piece! Just brilliant

Not Dog Friendly at all!The garden centre states they are Dog Friendly, well they aren?t. Definitely the café is not. I went there with my husband and our 2 year old lab last week for breakfast. The sign at the entrance to the café said they allowed dogs only in outdoors part, fair enough. The weather was lovely so we didn?t mind, except the doors to outdoor café was closed and blocked with a cone in front so no obvious way to get there. Plus they do not offer table service, so you order food inside, pay and then they bring it to your table (as it most garden centres). My husband is disabled so I am looking after him and our dog. So I thought it makes sense to cue at the till, pay for food and then ask for the way to the outdoors! How wrong was I! One member of staff, very rude told me I can?t be in with a dog! I asked how can I order the food then, she said she doesn?t set up rules and called her manager.Manager wasn?t any friendlier, the paradox of staying outside but not being able to order food inside is beyond me. She suggested one of us (myself or my disabled husband) stays outdoor looking for our dog while the other orders food. My husband can?t hold the dog (due to disability), neither can he on his own order and pay for food. Not only not dog friendly but disable discrimination I?d say! There was nothing else to say! We left! We found a lovely café in Lechlade called Lynwood, dog friendly, lovely food and friendly staff! We will never return to the Hillier Garden Centre in Lechlade with it without our pup.

Always a great little escape of a morning (or afternoon). Cafe is always clean, tidy and inviting with friendly staff. The shops within the centre vary from clothes, garden machinery, plants, decor, pets, gifts, food etc. Garden centre "prices" apply ?. Parking is good and they have various themed events throughout the year like many other places (mothers day, Christmas etc). Located centrally to Lechlade and fairford, but easy enough to find from farther afield.
