Best lunch we've had out in a long time, food was hot and super tasty too. Great selection of foods and specials on the menu. I chose the homemade burger which was so tasty and chips super crispy and hot. If your in the area give this place a try I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Staff very friendly too and lovely log fire kept us warm on cold day too. 10/10Nearby activities: Some great shops, enjoyed the Christmas shop and antiques shops. Great visit to the lakes too

I stayed in one of the rooms in the courtyard for £90pn. My room was in a poor condition, had visible damp and was really dirty. Although the beds were made the room was not fit for use in its current state. There was visible damp and decay in the bathroom, a lot of dead bugs and thick dust on every surface and the room was full of dead and living spiders. It just hadn?t been cleaned adequately in a very long time. The furniture and pillows were heavily used, visibly stained and quite frankly in need of replacing. The walls were lined with squashed dead bugs and the old television also did not work at all. The whole room was in a general state of disrepair and definitely not worth the money. I did ask to speak to a manager but when approached the desk staff were completely disinterested and failed to follow up my request to make contact to discuss the situation further.

We stayed in Room 1 in the main building. Very roomy with four-poster bed and 2 armchairs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bathroom was spacious but with a low ceiling; there was no shower and the shower attachment on the bath was not fully operational. Comments made to management so may well be fixed now. Some noise from the pub until closing time. Fast WiFi (70 Mbps). Pleasant outside seating. Breakfast (veggie) was nicely cooked. We would stay again.Nearby activities: Location ideal for visiting Kelmscott Manor, which we did the next day.Food & drinks: Menu was OK with 3 veggie main courses. Lots of choice for meat eaters and the restaurant was popular. We are at the Asian restaurant across the road - as recommended by the hotel manager. I told you they were helpful.

Superb location, breakfast was really good, staff were lovely. Does need a bit of maintenance, I get that it's an old building but there were bulbs gone, lack of ventilation in the bathroom has caused a bit of mould in places, could be better but worth a stay.

This hotel is obviously an old coaching inn with grounds which reach down to the River Thames with plenty of picnic benches. Many of the rooms are on the ground floor in what presumably once were stables. The problem with these rooms is that they look out onto beer garden tables and there was some noise but it did not last too late into the night. The bedroom itself was good, well decorated and very well lit. In contrast the bathroom was in need of refurbishment and not as clean as it might have been. I do not expect to see exposed pipework in a hotel bathroom and this does not help to keep it clean. The evening meal was disappointing as we were asked to book a time at check-in but then found oursleves allocated a table in the bar between the front door and the toilets. There was a separate Dining Room but we were not told we would not be seated there. The bar staff were super-efficient in taking orders but the kitchen obviously couldn't keep up so we waited some time for a meal which was OK but nothing special. In contrast, the cooked breakfast (served in the Dining Room) was excellent athough there was no fresh fruit available.

Had a lovely meal at The New Inn. I had the steak and my parents had the feather blade beef. Both were excellent. The waitress Michelle was very friendly and attentive. The front bar can get quite loud but it doesn?t really carry through to the restaurant at the back. They have specials with I think they update regularly and they had an extensive pudding menu. Would definitely eat here again when we?re in the area.

Stayed here last fee weeks due to working near by, staff are absolutely diamond's and cannot do enough for you, very welcoming environment, lovely place to stay if visiting local area's. I've worked all around the country and had good customer and hotel satisfaction when it comes to non commercial and independent places to stay this is up in my votes, such a good environment in total as a pub/hotel..thanks to all who work here, Simon has been class and all staff included. Unfortunately cannot comment on the food as stupidly I'm yet to try but seeing visually looks delightful and heard many people say it is good grub. Again thanks all at the new Inn for everything

Came here on my boat from Oxford. It's a long journey and I was wet and tired when I arrived and was able to moor at the bottom of the beer garden where there was room for roughly 3 boats. After drying myself off, I went into the pub to get some food. Sunday lunch was finished, so I went off and returned for evening meal. Had Sirlion steak and Apple Crumble for afters.I enjoyed the pub and the atmosphere and the service was good.

We chose the deluxe room, and it was wonderful - huge, with a clawed bathtub and a fabulous view over the town square. It was very luxurious and I would highly recommend. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only negative was the weird and loud plumbing noises persisted all night - one must expect these things in old hotels, but it was irksome.

Lovely old inn and a perfect base for exploring. Beds, etc. very comfortable, welcoming people, easy parking. Nice to be served with breakfast. Lots to explore in Lechlade and the area - Kelmscot Manor very special.

We were upgraded to Room 12 which was a great room overlooking the square. Lechlade is a very pretty place and worth a visit. Beautiful circular walk, starting in the square beside the church, down Shelley's walk (the poet) to the Trout Inn on the river, site of the old priory, across the second oldest bridge in England after London Bridge, to St John's lock and back along the river. Recommend you book dinner in the diningroom. We didn't and the pub, although serving the same good food, didn't have the atmosphere we were after. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Good outdoor area with picnic tables and parasols for good weather. And the river at the bottom of the back yard.

Wonderful historic establishment situated on the original marketplace. Beautiful riverbank park access directly from the inn. The room was clean and quiet. Bags were waiting in our room for us on arrival. Breakfast had several choices and enough to set us up for our day of walking on the Thames Path.

We had stopped here previously for lunch and found it welcoming, so this time we stayed the night and were very happy with the service and the facilities in general. An excellent pub and hotel, well run.

A friend and I stayed twice while doing the Thames Walk, once in May 2023 & once in July 2023. All the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Very comfortable twin rooms both times, lovely smoked salmon inclusive breakfasts and excellent dinners in the restaurant. Very reasonably priced ; the accommodation and food. Would definitely recommend the New Inn to stay &/or eat. Also excellent location, bus stop right outside to Cirencester. Would highly recommend.
