Booked in for a single night when we were heading down from Yorkshire to visit family. We chose the Travelodge as they allow a dog in the room, and we didn't want to board our dog for our visit. The lodge is easily found and very convenient from the motorway, with a decent size car park to the front that is free to use for guests - no hidden charges like some of the others. Check in was easy and very friendly, and we were quickly directed to our room. The room itself was exactly what we were expecting - clean, tidy, in good repair and comfy. A decent enough size TV, well made bed with sufficient pillows, warm, dry and with no odd smells. Like all budget hotels the walls aren't super thick, but we had a great nights sleep with no disturbances from the neighbours.Breakfast in the morning was good - a nice buffet set out with a good selection of hot and cold food, that set us up for the day.All in all, this was the perfect place for us to get our head down for a few hours overnight to break up our journey and keep the distance manageable for our onward journey. For the price, there's nothing to fault here, and I'd have no hesitation in booking again.Rooms: Good size room, nice comfy bed, plenty of pillows and a good temperature. Bathroom was clean and hygienic, well supplied and everything worked.

I came Friday night and the lady behind the desk was so kind and helpful. Young Driver booked me and she knew straight away and gave me all the relevant information. The room was great, I was able to play on my mini Amiga 500 and then leave for work in the morning. The same lady was there and very pleasant. Thank you.

We stayed at the Travelodge as they are very dog friendly and there is a park within 20 minutes walk. The place was easy to find, close to the motorway, yet you wouldn't know it as it was peaceful. The room was clean, comfy and warm and everything worked. The staff were incredibly welcoming and really friendly. Check in was quick and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Hairdryer and ironing facilities were just a quick ask and it was done and there for you.Debs the assistant manager was exemplorary in all aspects and dealt with a slight boiler problem quickly.Everywhere was spotlessly clean and there were no hidden charges like car parking as we have had at other hotels.Would certainly revisit and recommend to others.Walkability: There is a footpath that goes direct into the centre of the town.

For a budget hotel this place is top notch. It has a really nice bar and restaurant area which serves food between 5 - 10.The reception is 24/7 and staff are very helpful.Rooms: I had a disabled room which was nice and spacious.

Although the directions on the sat nav were correct, I felt I was in the wrong place as I was driving into what looked just like a dark industrial estate. A bit more signage would have been helpful. The room was fine but the shower was great as it had a seat in it. I loved that after a long drive. :-)

This location was extremely difficult to locate. The GPS directs you to the wrong side of the industrial estate, the signage is unclear?especially at night?and it gives the impression of driving into a business area. The staff is aware of these issues despite relying on both Google Maps and Apple Maps, neither of which accurately led to the Travelodge entrance. During my search, I encountered three others facing the same challenge.Perhaps having "what3words" addresses in the future, in addition to the unreliable postal code, could be beneficial. It took me 50 minutes to finally find the hotel after arriving in the area.
