What an amazing pub! So incredibly welcoming. Beautifully run by the most lovely family. We were staying locally for a couple of nights and were looked after so, so well by George and his wonderful family. This is how pubs should be run!! Thank you guys - Neil and Kate.

Small local pub, quirky and friendly. Staff welcoming, helpful and attentive. Basic Sunday lunch menu but well cooked with plenty of everything. Sweets also limited but enjoyed a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Will return.Parking: The pub is on the busy A38. Car park entrance is off side street directly off the A38 with access to back and front of pub. Enough parking for patrons of pub

Highly recommend the Old Forge for a Sunday roast! Visited last week and it was so delicious, everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully seasoned, and cooked from fresh. You can tell a lot of love had been put into the food here! Cozy environment and a great place to relax! The owners and team were so friendly, we loved it and will be back!

Four of us (of mature years) called in for dinner on a Friday evening to receive a warm welcome from the landlord, chef and local patrons. The facilities were basic, clean and typical of an older style local pub without the plastic frills so common everywhere today. The ambiance was very friendly and the resident wire haired dachshund made us all very welcome before returning to its bed beside the bar in order to resume its slumbers. The food was excellent, home made and carefully prepared having never been anywhere near a microwave. Tasty and good value. The chef also took the trouble to visit our table in order to make sure his cooking was to our liking and that there was nothing else we needed before he signed off for the evening - we had taken that long over dinner! Very relaxing and thank you all for a great evening. We only wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy a drink with local customers who seemed to be in no hurry to go home. A hidden gem and one we will gladly return to next time we pass through Gloucester.

Popped in for lunch while travelling through. Friendly welcome and a good pint of Mad Goose. The dog friendly pub was clean and well laid out. The food was fantastic. Chicken goujons and chips and Moussaka and chips with Greek salad. Worth a visit for the Greek food alone all hand prepared by their chef who we met. 10/10
