I would avoid this Travelodge as the communication between them and their guests are shocking. I arrived with my partner on Tuesday to find out it was shut with no communication of this happening to find out we was being transferred to Croydon Central. From investigating this further this isn?t the first time this has happened from the earliest being April. When we arrived you could see it was having construction work being done and there was a note on the door saying to ring a number but why did they allow us to book in May if this was going to be the case. I think the way it was handled was wrong on all levels which didn?t give us any hope we will not be returning to said Travelodge after this bad experience. We lost out on money due to having to pay out for parking as Croydon has none on their site.

Disgusting with sewage coming up in the shower. Rubbish everywhere around this prison style hotel with razor wire adorning the building. Area vile, felt unsafe. Staff unhelpful and surly. Halls stunk of sewage and weed. Never been in such a horrible hotel. Travelodge themselves weren?t interested in our complaints

I can't comment on the actual hotel as Travelodge cancelled 6 days before our stay. We booked the hotel nearly 3 months ago and they were aware of the problematic construction work nearby in April. They rebooted us in the Croydon Central travelodge, the reviews were terrible and having lived in London most of my life, Croydon is the last place on earth I would want to experience again. It took us 2 hours to find an alternative hotel as it is such short notice and although the hotel seems lovely is is nearly twice the price. I will never use Travelodge again. I have emailed the CEO and hopefully my refund will arrive soon.

Arrived on Sunday 7th April at 8.45pm after a long day if travel to be told by security that the hotel was closed and that we should have been informed by email 24hrs prior. After a hasty telephone call to a telephone number posted on an A4 size poster on the door we were told ?oh Croydon Central are expecting you? News to us!! Checked our inbox , spam and junk mail on mobile phone and zilch!! I asked where Croydon Central was and informed by Travelodge help(less) desk to ?just jump in a cab? arrived 9.45pm at Croydon Central. Staff there were apologetic and claimed that this has happened on several occasions. On arrival home we immediately put in a complaint which was responded to promptly with a Sorry we will let the relevant dept know! We emailed again suggesting we receive full/partial refund or a reasonable discount voucher for future use. This was responded with ?there are no refunds? Croydon was cheaper than Crystal Palace but this hasn't been addressed either. If we as prospective guests had cancelled our booking we would have lost our money in full but Travelodge at the drop of a hat can cancel our reservation without any recompense to us. Seems very unfair to us. We are awaiting a further response from Travelodge but after reading previous reviews don't hold out for much. In future we will use a reputable more caring hotel chain who have a bette PR team. Take note people prior to making a reservation.

The hotel canceled my Booking a few hours before check-in but an alternative was appointed in Croyden a few miles away that had no parking which is the reason I chose this hotel. we had traveled to London for the King's Coronation but parking restrictions were maximum stay was 24 hours at £18 so we had to travel back across London just to move my car. the cost to stay at the alternative hotel was 50% less than I paid at the time of booking and no refund was issued plans were ruined. checked out a day early Dirty tricks by travel lodge to take bookings and force you into a lesser location. Disgusting

Don?t book with Traveldodge. They will close the hotel and send you to Croydon. Awful customer service with no care and no clue . Best book with Premier Inn but anyone else will do . Managers don?t care and are happy for customers to have a ruined vacation .

I booked this Hotel because of a dance competition that my daughter was participating in was near by. I booked in at 3.20pm, by 5.00pm I was being told at reception that they were evacuating the guests to another hotel (I only went to reception to ask about the doors being locked at 10 so was nit told anything before hand). I explained that we were on our way to a dance competition and was not able to move there and then. They explained that was OK and they can move us once we were back. We arrived back at 9.30pm. We spoke to reception who said the closest to move us to was Croydon central and that they would pay for taxi to get us there (we arrived my train). I explained that I Still needed to get to the competition the next day and it would cosy me more to get there from the hotel I was being moved to. I was told that as a gesture of good will they would pay for breakfast for us at the other hotel. Well when I arrived no such thing had been passed over about breakfast, so I had to pay extra to get to the competition and the breakfast they said they would pay for (which didn't happen).

Yes there was building work being completed throughout our stay - In fact builders were just beyond our window on the 7th floor which wasn't always great however - the staff and reception team were so friendly, cooperative, professional and understanding! I couldn't thank them enough for their hospitality. Cleaning team were lovely, did a great job ensuring everything was up to standards and neat which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable! Speical compliments to Shelley, Sandro & Ishmel who are an absolute credit to the company. Travelodge London Crystal Palace are lucky to have them apart of thier team. Many thanks, take care! (apologies If any names were spelt Incorrectly)

The hotel is currently being renovated. Awful and confusing entrance to reception via the car park. Scaffold and work being done. Doesn't look appealing. Customer service (what customer service) no staff greeting to new arrivals or guests. They were chatty to themselves, internet and phone. Complete overhaul on staff and their training I think is needed.Rooms: Spacious, clean, with wifi and tv. 24hours receptionNearby activities: BlandWalkability: Close to Crystal Palace. From Upper Norwood I walked there in 30 minutes

Staying at the London Travel Lodge was of great experience. This is not my first time staying here and it has been all time very good experience. I would recommend to my network to use this place when they are visiting England.

It's OK. We had to stay there in an emergency. There's a lift but no 'official' accessible rooms. You can technically get a wheelchair up in the lift and fold it to enter a room. It's the usual level of cleanliness and you can order a microwave burger! (who ever heard of a microwave burger?). But there is nothing exceptional there and you would want to be doing something significant locally to actually chose this place. If you're wanting to be local to Crystal Palace then please use another hotel as there are plenty round here.

What a bizarre hotel.Built above a car showroom, reception is on the 6th floor. Lift access is either the side street or carpark level. With all the construction work going on it was hard to find the entrance to the hotel. Carpark is "rooftop" open style but is height restricted to approx 2M so no access for vans I'm afraid.Lady on the reception was very cheery and professional.Rooms dated, windows have those sliding extra pane on so not the quietest. Hopefully these are getting replaced with all the construction work.Good location, local shops and Aldi supermarket close by.
