I have given one star other wise can do the review. Reception extra rude, who he think he is. Dude you are answering phone and we the costumers pay for your job so get manners. To Halfords give training to your staff don?t just drop anyone on reception they are damaging your reputation?

Stay away! It's a sketchy place. I visited for routine maintenance, and the entire experience was a nightmare. The booking confirmation was vague, the reception was rude, and they didn't bother cleaning up the mess they made during the service. To top it off, the tools they used from my toolbox were haphazardly left on the floor. Definitely not worth your time or money ? find a more reliable and professional service elsewhere.

Took my car there for an MOT and a clutch check. It failed the MOT rather spectacularly. OK, no problem. How much to fix it?"Err, we can't quote, err, on it, err, it's going to be a lot." - Manager"OK, could you give me some quotes and I'll leave it there until tomorrow and see how much it'll be?" - MeNO YOU HAVE TO COME TODAY WE DON'T HAVE INSURANCE FOR IT TO STAY HERE OVERNIGHT. I can get you quotes but it'll be OEM parts... so like.... yeah......."I had to PUSH FOR QUOTES, felt like I was asking him to hand over his first born child. Around 3 hours later, £350 for a shock absorber fitted, £700 for an exhaust fitted. Not bad for OEM parts, but think I'll take it somewhere else anyway since the car is only worth between £1k and £2k.If you're interested, I ended up getting both of these things done, plus a new clutch, plus new tyre, plus headlight bolt (which I cannot believe this garage didn't fit regardless, it's like 50 pence for a nut? Just fit the nut as part of the MOT? An MOT is £45?) for £1100 total - significantly cheaper than Halfords Barking would have been.So I pick the car up. Get in the car, they've swapped out my oily, dirty locking wheel nut for someone else's shiny new one. I go back in and I see my locking wheel nut on the desk near the (presumed) manager. "That's my locking wheel nut on the side""No it's not."The cheek. Spoiler alert: after I showed him the shiny brand new locking wheel nut from whichever other poor soul had brought their car into Halfords Barking, it was indeed my locking wheel nut.I ask how the clutch is? Fine, the manager says. "The clutch isn't too bad actually" were his exact words. The clutch was operating at the very top of the pedal. The engine RPM was overshooting every gear change as the transmission struggled to find the bite because the clutch was so worn down.IMO they just wanted the car out of there. No care whatsoever. No advice. No help. I asked if he knew anyone who could take a look at it: "No."No actual clutch check (which I had booked specifically as an extra after the MOT!) just a lackadaisical "not too bad actually!"Let's be honest: you didn't check the clutch!Some Halfords are not like others. I have been to one in Erksine, Liverpool, multiple times. Great staff, helpful, professional, go the extra mile, lovely people. True, proper mechanics.Barking Halfords? Do not go there.

I had a appointment at 12:00 to change the tyre and they told me ?the tyre machine is down? FIRST LIE (wasn?t)The service was good/on time until they ring me to pick up the car and over the phone they advised me ? the TPS - tyre pressure sensor is damage ? but was working when I drop the car -was on red with 15PSI (flat tyre ) but still workingHe can?t be damaged by the rim ,the shape is protecting the TPS ( I check google for the TPS position) SECOND LIETHIEVES AND LIARS OVERALL !!!!Now to get back the original TPS (40 quid + re-tyre again)Worst service ever !!!! Avoid it !!!!

The staff's primary goal seemed to be extracting as much money from me as possible, leaving me utterly disappointed and frustrated.First and foremost, their attempt to capitalize on unsuspecting customers was glaringly evident when they presented me with a staggering quote of £500 to address a supposed light issue that I wasn't even aware of. In disbelief, I sought a second opinion from another garage, which not only identified the problem in a mere 5 minutes but also fixed it for a paltry £10. It became glaringly apparent that Barking Halfords Autocentre was not only overcharging but preying on customers' lack of automotive knowledge.To add insult to injury, their pricing for simple items like wipers reached new heights of absurdity. While their website listed the wipers at a reasonable £26, they had the audacity to demand a mind-boggling £70 for the same product. This kind of price gouging is not only unethical but also a blatant disregard for transparency and fairness in their dealings with customers.The stark disparity between their quoted prices and the actual market value of services and products is a clear indication of their predatory business practices. The lack of integrity displayed by Barking Halfords Autocentre is not only disheartening but serves as a cautionary tale for anyone considering their services.In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone in need of automotive services to steer clear of Barking Halfords Autocentre. Save yourself the hassle, frustration, and unnecessary expenses by choosing a more reputable and honest establishment for your automotive needs.Edit:After speaking to the customer services they said Halfordsinvestigated themselves and found they did nothing wrong.Crazy, before I went to them for a MOT my headlight was working fine. Halfords said it needed to be completely replaced for £500 for parts and labour. The honest garage I went to said a bulb was not in the correct position and fixed it within minutes.They also have very little to no parking and a ridiculous MOT booking system where they book you in when they are not free. So you waste so much time waiting.Avoid this place at all costs!

Excellent service. Arrived on time, was greeted and the keys for the car taken for the service and MOT. Got an update on works that could be done for the car, or things I should do before the next MOT. Works was done really quickly and got a call 30mins before collection. When I went back and collected the keys all the documentation was done and car was ready to be collected. The member of staff at the desk explained everything before I left.

The Manager at Reception has something of an attitude problem towards getting work done quickly and efficiently; it took them 45 minutes to change and balance one tyre when there were only two other cars in the shop. I will say the quality of the work was reasonable but, this Manager is slow and has an attitude so but for the fact a large company chooses to have promoted him, his business would soon collapse if it were privately run by him. He would be better placed returning to fitting tyres and let someone with some enthusiasm and passion for there work be in authority. Won't use this branch again.

I had a appointment booked and was told its a all day appointment by Bharat I didn't have all day asked to re book this was done and told to be at the centre a few days later at 7.30 forgive I walk in at 7.30 the man who asked me to be there had a chip on his shoulder asked me to leave they open at 8am so I wait then I'm told your car won't be ready till late afternoon its only a 3 hour service. Personally now reading reviews I believe Bharat has a problem with a certain type of people..

Stay away from this Halfords Autocentre, I had a scheduled appointment on 30/10/23 for a wheel alignment, came in and was told to leave my car with them and collect it later, I told them I will wait, the manager Bharat told me it will be a 4+ hour wait, so he suggested I rebook for another day and come in early morning at 8:00am when they are about to open that way they can get my wheel alignment done quickly as there won't be any cars. He booked me in on 02/11/2023 for that appointment, I came at the time requested hoping that this would be done soon only to be told by the staff member there that it will be 5 hours till they work on my vehicle as they have so many cars in the queue, it's funny cause at the time there was barely any vehicles in their garage other than my one parked by the car park. I told him what Bharat the manager said to me but he still refused to serve me before all these imaginary cars even though I had an appointment. I have made a complaint to Halfords for this and I have told this garage to cancel my appointment and refund me back my money, honestly I would say if your thinking of coming here you will have problems, you are better off taking your car elsewhere like an independent garage who will probably be able to see you and service your vehicle quickly and correctly, this Halfords garage has too many problems as it's a tiny garage with room for maybe two vehicles inside and on a small car park with space for 5 vehicles. Oh and if you book online they only offer a drop off service and not a slot where your vehicle will be seen to so either prepare to wait the whole day or leave your vehicle there alternatively if you book online then you have to call them to give you a slot if you want a quick service. My advice is go elsewhere for your own peace of mind

It's the go to place for anything Auto, I had my MOT done, great service, the manager Barat is very helpful & nothing is too much trouble, always accomodating, I have my car serviced here too, also being a premium member of the Halfords Auto Club, has some great deals, highly recommended, well done ..?
