Experience started off well. I was seen by 3 different people. The first two were very polite & informative, handled my appointment the way I would expect. Before my last examination, I could hear the three members of staff pointing out a mistake that a younger staff member made, as soon as he walked off they began to mock him & whisper about him. If I could hear it (and other customers) then that poor young man could too. The last lady I sat with to discuss contact lenses was extremely unprofessional, and condescending. It has been very hard getting the time to visit the opticians, and after this visit I feel I wasted my time. She refused to give me my contact lenses because I had false nails & eyelashes (which she made very snarky comments about, also went as far as saying a tattoo on my body looks like I am a burn victim). It is not my first time having contact lenses, my nails & lashes were never an issue in the past, which I told her. I believe it should have been MY discretion, not hers. I will not be returning to any Boots opticians after this visit. A lot of professionals have become too complacent in their fields, and have a lax attitude towards customers, this member of staff was a clear example of this. I will now have to find the time to visit another opticians that does not use my eye examination as a chance to ridicule my appearance.

So disorganised. They were 30 minutes late for my appointment. I was in for 1hr 45mins in the end and although I came out with a prescription they weren?t able to replace the lenses in my frames.I would say the optician I saw was brilliant and this review is no reflection of the quality she gave. If she had more time to discuss my prescription I think she would have given it.There is only one optician and one testing room. Note these are down steep stairs. The shop floor is disabled accessible but not the testing room. While I waited there were lots of discussions between the shop assistants on how to handle questions from other customers on the shop floor. They seemed to not know who could sign prescriptions or how long appointments take. Basic staff training seemed to be lacking. After my appointment I was told I would be called regarding my lens replacement in my frames but no one came back with answers despite chasing multiple times.I raised a complaint, they then got in contact and gave me the time required. It shouldn?t take a complaint to get a pair of lenses replaced in a frame.

Only go there if you want a laugh ?I had a contact lens fitting a month and half ago - during which the girl at the front desk kept saying ?I have no idea what?s going on?? - she wasn?t lying.I still haven?t heard back on my new lenses, despite calling several times. Also that was the first time I had to look through dirty lenses in a check-up.

Utter shambles. Chaotic, disorganised and lost records are the watchwords. Such a shame as they are damaging Boots otherwise good reputation. Do yourself a favour and go to Specsavers.

Appalling service at this branch. I've so far made three attempts at arranging a sight test and contact lens check. The first time i was kept waiting for half an hour and still not seen so had to leave, the second attempt they cancelled an hour before my appointment was due and the third attempt (today) I waited 40 minutes before having to return to work.

Second time I?ve turned up and the store has closed before their advertised closing time of 6. Not even a few minutes but 30 mins. If the store is not able to stay open until 6 they should amend their hours so customers can plan accordingly.

A few years ago I bought varifocal glasses with transitions (reactolite). The transitions ceased to function after about 18 months and went I took them in they were very surprised this had happened and replaced the glasses. I bought a new pair of glasses with and anti-scratch lenses in March last year. In June this year I realised that the transitions were no longer working. I was in Spain and spoke to an optician who said he'd never experienced this happening and that the transitions should last as long as the glasses. I called Boots to say that the transitions had stopped functioning and they told me to bring them in when I am back. I took them in and the young man would not accept that this was unsatisfactory - there is no guarantee on the lenses or the transitions I was told. He also commented that the glasses were scratched and that these were an earlier pair of glasses. (I checked at home - they were the most current glasses.). He refused to replace the glasses with a functioning pair. I conclude that Boots are using inferior quality lenses and should be avoided at all costs.

I had a great experience from booking the eye exam, having the appointment and selecting frames.I needed to follow up with the store manager to resolve an issue around the veri focal lenses (my first) as the lenses did not agree with me.Boots swapped out the lenses and frame for me to single vision lenses. Superb experience.

Eye-test was very professional with friendly service. Used voucher and did not feel pressured to make a purchase.

Do no recommend. They lied.First, I spent HUNDREDS to buy a new pair of glasses after being persuaded by a staff to consider the add-on options.I paid for the glasses and booked a contact lens test. When I went back a week later, it turned out they forget to order the trial contact lens for me (I overheard their convo), and then a guy who appeared to be the manager of the store lied to me it was the contact lens company's delay because the company had some problems with the packaging etc. He obviously THOUGHT I did not hear the conversation between him and another staff. Liar. How could I trust this store anymore? I did not confront his lie but just said then I would need to cancel the contact lens test (without the trial contact lens)A week after that week, I went back to get the glasses and he ignored me like I never existed. Conclusion: I think their staff training includes lying to customers and denying any mistakes. Well done.

Had an eye test at the Victoria Boots Opticians and couldn't have had a better experience. Very thorough eye examination and then a hugely helpful sales person to help me choose my frames. I was quite picky so it took some time but the lovey lady was great and gave the space to chose at my speed. Well done Boots and thanks to all the staff at Victoria Boots Opticians

Post COVID lockdown it was very difficult to get an appointment and I had to wait two weeks, despite telling them I had eye pain. The optometrist was good and very professional. However when I tried to purchase glasses after my appointment, the salesperson serving me was distracted and walked off three times to do other things whilst serving me. Like I had nothing better to do than just sit there and wait. It ended up taking one hour to buy one pair of glasses, which were the same as off the shelf reading glasses that cost £15 elsewhere. However she sold me £40 lens treatment bringing the total to £110. I really needed the second pair of glasses, which were varifocals to reduce my eye strain/pain but she actually told me to just buy them when I collect the first pair in 7-10 days times! The manager then came over and was talking to me. She ended her sentence with "sorry for the wait", so I said "that's ok". She said "I wasn't talking to you!" and said she was talking to someone else. Lovely. I was shocked and after wasting an hour, I had to get back to work and paid and left.I was annoyed by their dismissive, terrible service, so when I went home I phoned to say I wanted a refund. I was told she would call be back but after one hour, no one called. I phoned again and was told I have to go back to the store for a refund. So it took another wasted hour to get my money back. This is definitely the worst experience I've had and would never return. If you like to be treated badly, then buy your glasses from this store. I received a survey from Boots about my experience and gave negative feedback so they could improve their customer service. Instead the manager phoned me three times in the next five days, probably so she could tell me how wrong I was. After the way she'd previously spoken to me, I really couldn't face it.Just like the other reviewers have mentioned, the staff are very disinterested. Avoid this branch.

Terrible service, came in for an appointment and was told it was a 20mins wait after I had been there 10 mins already then to make matters worst the lady came back as said I could leave as she didn?t know how long the wait would beCompletely disregarded the fact that I made the appointment weeks ago didn?t care that it was an inconvenience to me, also cancelled my contact lens subscription because I hadn?t been been to an appointment!!!!! Called the customer service to complain they did NottingWill never use another boots service again, if a service provider doesn?t value you don?t give them your money

This was my first visit, found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. In particular the optician took a lot of time to check my notes from another store and make sure he fully understood the history
