Just stayed at the Travelodge Central Southwark for the weekend, hotel is decent enough with comfortable clean rooms. Staff as a whole were very good, really efficient when checking in and Jenny running breakfast was especially attentive and friendly even when a small child expelled copious amounts of something she didn't want to keep down. The staff were super quick to deal with this offering those around to move whilst they cleaned up.This is where the good stuff ended; sadly it was down hill from there. I decided to have a lie in so put out the "Do not disturb" sign out, which housekeeping ignored and started tapping on my door and even entered the room, when there wasn't a quick response. Travelodge need to train their housekeeping staff to understand what "DND" means as I was very disappointed and angry at being disturbed. Then before the midday check out I had another of Travelodge's finest knocking on the door again to see if I was checking out to which I replied "Yes, before midday when I'm ready"..!Otherwise it was a good stay....

The location is great and I loved the accommodation. Alex and Lakshmi are super kind and made our onboarding super easy. Lakshmi in particular had helped us settle in the room with utmost comfort. Recommend it for the price they are offering.Walkability: Just 3 mins to the tube station.

It's good value at £60/night. There was no train noise and the air con worked nicely - I've stayed in a number of London Travelodges and this is the best value by far (barring some unusually cheap stays in 2020). Obviously it's a Travelodge so don't expect gourmet but this is a great location for anyone with even a short time to kill in London (even if only an hour at 11pm). For a tourist it's ideal. Families seemed very welcome, there were plenty running around late at night enjoying their holidayNearby activities: Loads, Tate modern a couple of mins walk to start withSafety: ExcellentWalkability: Fantastic from tube or southbankFood & drinks: There's a bar which seemed well stocked, modern, and friendly

Everything was OK, some confusion with certain things, like the first night we went for dinner they told us there weren't any baby seats, but there was as at breakfast someone brought us one, also fruitshoots were in fridge but they wouldn't sell them (although the manager did give us one later)They were very good as one of our party could not attend and we had prepaid breakfast, they gave us dinner for us both instead.During breakfast time on the Monday we came down at 10:30 to find it closed at 10 during the week, but weekends it was 11, we hadn't been informed about this (although there was a small note thing we found later with this info on, so kind of our fault but could of been clearer)The lovely ladies who were working at the restaurant clearing up breakfast on Monday 23rd Oct were lovely and gave us some bananas and pancakes for the baby which was very lovely of them! 100% service there. Also the staff who were cleaning the rooms throughout the weekend were very lovely and helpful.

As you can see from the reviews the hotel is awful, dirty, old and noisy. I travel for business and it was a terrible experience, the bathroom is old and has curtains which don't retain the water and with every shower all the bath was flooded. Room was not properly cleaned, there is no wifi connection for free you have to pay, this is unbelievable! Staff was not very welcoming when I had to be back again because the doors are old and doesn't work properly. It is incredible expensive for the experience, only good thing is the location but stay away from here and book the closest hotel nearby.Rooms: Noisy, dirty.

It is an awful experience to stay in this hotel!!! I've been staying in the hotel for almost 2 weeks. Due to the price fluctuating , i have made 4 bookings to book this hotel. Therefore i have tried 4 different kinds of room in this hotel.1. the rooms are so dirty, carpets with lots of dirt marks eventhough its dark blue, i still can see it. The kettle and cups are full of dust. One time, i drop something under the bed and i use the torch and see the spiderweb underneath.2. the toliets have a bad smell, the roof, the bathing curtains, door frame and the soap dispenser have mould. And there is no ventilation fan in the toliet, can't dry up the toilet until next morning.3. their bathtube are diaster , the height of the bath tube is so short, when i bath all the water flood out the floor. And there is no pothholes on the floor at all.3. the sink was silt and need to call the reception to help. I need to go down by myself and stand at the reception and escort them to go over.4. as i have stay in 4 different rooms, all four air conditioner have problems. All are noisy, not funtioning blows with hot air and leaking. I ask for changing room but they said is full house. And next day no one follows up.5. No one clean up the room. Can request to change towels and dispose garbage.6. NO FREE WIFI AT ALL !!!! Not all the room have a good reception of 5G or wifi.7. My last night was diaster, as i mention before the air conditioner is leaking, i put a towel underneath to absorb the water and i have request someone to come over next day and top up the towel. But end up no one did and the smelly towel still on the floor and i can't turn on the air conditioner as it is leaking. My room is so humid and smelly and i can't sleep at all.8. the price during my stay is high and i'm not expect this kind of service in return.Just the location is good , rather than that it's sucks!!!

Budget hotels are rarely this grim. I'm sorry, but this place is depressing, awful, tired and unclean. The lifts take ages, the queue to check-in takes ages, and the receptionist clearly does not enjoy her job. The constant noise from the three train tracks was unbearable; I kept revisiting the window, assuming it was open. The bathroom was dirty, with stains in the bath and blood on the bathroom door, and the taps should be replaced to rid the mildew. The room was a family room, so it was quite big, but the TV on the wall was the size of a postage stamp and wholly unsuitable for that size of the room?shame on you, Travelodge £275.99 for an appalling sta

I will start by saying that I am not one of those people who pays 50/100 quid for a hotel room and expects the Ritz, it's always a balance between price and quality, and I have stayed in Travelodges (and other budget chain-hotels) across the country and have had few complaints, however this particular hotel (despite the price) is grim.Positives first: great location, near the Thames & Tate Modern with excellent transport links (Waterloo train station, Southwark tube station and Blackfriars Thameslink station are all a short hop away), the room itself was somewhat serviceable. As for the negatives: pretty much everything else. The lift took ages to arrive for my entire visit (ended up using the stairs but didn't want to when checking-in because, naturally, I had my suitcase), when I got to reception there was one person ahead of me, for whatever reason the staff took about 15 minutes to check this person in (I'm really not sure how, I thought the routine was "who are you? do you want breakfast? here is your key."), when I got checked-in I had to repeat my name about 4 times to the receptionist (my name is not especially complex, I wouldn't say I speak like a BBC news presenter but I have certainly never had to repeat my name when checking into a hotel before!).When I got to my room the first thing I noticed was that the bin had not been emptied and that the bin contained travel documents from the previous occupant(s), naturally I didn't look at them but a nefarious person could have, this of course didn't give me much confidence that the room had been actually cleaned or checked (presumably, they just remade the bed?), also there was no TV remote. When I went back to reception to mention this they did not seem overly bothered (to put it mildly), no mention of getting the room actually cleaned or moving me to a clean room, they handed me a TV remote, I got back to the room to find the TV was broken anyway (perhaps not a major issue if you're on holiday but I'd had a long day and just wanted to zone-out to some TV for an hour or two).Overall, I will say again: grim. (giving two stars purely for the location and the fact that it was not overly expensive).

We booked into our room around 17:30, dropped of our bags and headed straight out. We got back just after 10:30 and couldn't get on the floor of our room (the key didn't work). Went down to reception for a new key. There was a family with the same problem as well. We had to wait as two families were checking in (fair enough but there were the members of staff around). Once in the room we had something to eat and got ready for bed. My daughter brushed her teeth and noticed 'nasty stuff' stuck inside the toilet so she flushed it and it blocked. I got dressed again and returned to reception (now midnight) Again, having to wait as families were checking in. Once she got to me, I explained the situation, to which she was going to get someone to come and have a look. Another member of staff came along and told her to just give us another room. They did with no problem. Then came breakfast the next morning..... Total chaos! Queued to be seated, queues for food and drink due to lack of refilling crockery and food, watery orange juice, no apple juice. We have stayed here previously on two occasions and no problems. So hopefully this was just a problem in August.Rooms: The twin room was as you would expect from Travelodge. Added benefit of air conditioning.

It's not a bad hotel. It was clean and comfortable with reasonable rooms. Breakfast was OK, though some of the food items could have been better quality

I use this hotel regularly when in London. Good value. Close to Jubilee line, Waterloo and London Bridge stations. Close to Globe Theatre and Southbank. Also great pub for amazing burgers opposite.Staff very helpful. And good breakfast options.

Good location. Very difficult to get information from hotel ahead of visit. I called twice and there was a complete communication failure both times. I ran out of ways to rephrase my question which was regarding the family rooms, not a difficult question, I just wanted to understand how the rooms would be made up. It became very awkward both times and I gave up. Upon arrival there was a problem with check in too. I probably will not stay in this hotel again

Decent location near the jubilee line and walking distance to many attractions. The room as expected was decent, however unnervingly overlooked by adjacent office block. Breakfast was as expected, staff member was great. Unfortunately booked dinners upfront for ease with the kids. Food wasn't great or not available.Food & drinks: Plenty of restaurants and takeaways near by

Booked a super double room only to go up to floor 7, by unwelcoming girl on receptionist who was on her mobile. Only to find it was a single (child?s size bed) went back down to be told our room was overbooked and we would have to stay the night there. My partner had to sleep on the floor. Noisy trains kept us up at all hours. Had compliments breakfast for the issue but was like faulty towers - no hot water for tea or coffee. Had to chase up customer service who was supposedly going to give us a refund only to be told they will call back. No call back given. Had to share up again, no answer. Eventually found an email only to be given 50% off our room. I would say it?s been a pleasure Travelodge but it hasn?t.

Stayed here for a couple of days. We were in a plus room which has a coffee maker with a nice selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The location is good for central London. Tube station is a short walk away. The nearby streets have a nice selection of restaurants for the evening and there is a nice proper cafe for breakfasts. Only annoyance was the shower. It felt as if the soap and gel dispensers got mixed up.
