Great to have a good, local pharmacy in Blackheath village.

Brilliant staff. Always go out of their way to help you and are efficient in managing and ordering prescriptions. Always proactive in calling you if there are any problems with supplying medication. They are also friendly and nice to deal with.

Absolutely dreadful and yes I think that was the manager. Be warned. I went to buy a kids hayfever sirup as I react to steroids and pharma in general. They talked me into buying a prescription level alternative asking me to check the ingredients list, which looked very ?Spanish ? to me but had no obvious steroids. I got home and realised the back of the packet has a list of conditions to be avoided like my heart condition. Took it back and the manager tells me no refunds for meds. I said no one said I could not plus sold me something dangerous for my heart condition. She points at a sign. You have got to be kidding me! I left her and my packet worth of £4. She will not be seeing anymore of my custom!

Lovely staff. Always extremely helpful and cheerful. Nice clean shop. Adequately stocked for a small village pharmacy. No issues for years. A few dotty / grumpy customers who hold up the cue blaming the staff for anything and everything from basic pharmaceutical regulations to people going on lunch to the pandemic etc etc etc

Pharmacists are patronising and refuse to sell simple over the counter medications

I don't often visit pharmacies, though my experience here has been second to none. Never any issue picking up prescriptions. It's recently moved to this location so is very clean and fresh on the inside.

Just hopeless. Needed to switch bank accounts as my old bank is closing. Have not renewed my passport because of the pandemic and only have an old paper driving licence, so didn't have the photo ID needed. First Direct really helpful - all you need to do is get a copy of your paper driving licence certified by your local pharmacy and that will be fine. Went down to Paydens. I explained the situation to the woman serving and she said that the pharmacist would probably need to see photo ID. I explained to her again that the whole reason I was there was that I didn't have photo ID and the bank was happy to have a copy of my paper driving licence certified by a pharmacist. The woman serving then said she would speak to the pharmacist. While I was waiting, I Googled the First Direct documentation which said what they wanted. Then the pharmacist came out, I explained what I needed, showed her my original driving licence and showed her the details explained on First Direct's website. She said she couldn't do it. I asked why she couldn't do it if the bank was happy with that. She then said that she could do it in 2 days time if I was to bring in my old passport. To cut a long story short, I just drove down to Boots and got them to do it - took 5 minutes The pharmacist laughed when I said the local pharmacy wanted to see my 11 year old passport, "How would they even recognise you in a mask?" Boots told me it is a service regularly used by people in the benefits system who don't have photo ID or the means to afford it. Anyway, visiting Paydens was just a waste of time. You would think that a community pharmacist would be particularly helpful at supporting the community, but you are better off going to a chain as they are more knowledgeable. Won't be spending any money with them again.

Just came back raging with frustration with the manner I was treated by the Pharmacist in charge, who i was made to understand was also the Manager at the Blackheath Paydens . I felt that my integrity was questioned and the manner in which she dealt with my situation left me with a really bad taste . I have used this service for years and can confidently say that most of the staff are brilliant and have always offered a good service . Whilst I do not want to put a finger and give a reason for her behaviour, it just makes wonder if is because??.,.She will not stop me from using this particular branch . I will be visiting again .

A great chemist with a wide range of over the counter products. Staff are friendly and helpful and their new shop is nice and spacious.

Disappointing - both the look and the service: they were unable to release a prepared prescribed medication as...there was no pharmacist in!!! Popped in three times within an hour-still no pharmacist reported for work! They took note of my mobile number ?to let me know? - nobody bothered to call either yesterday or today. I wonder how they managed with emergencies without a pharmacist in...The overall look is shabby: a dirty worn out carpet and a gloomy look do not really give you much hope your health needs are properly taken care of there...
