I have always had a good experience with CEX. I wanted another iPod, so decided to buy from them instead of ebay or Amazon. I normally buy in store. But I bought online. It arrived quickly. But it was not working. I was told to take back to a store. I expected a refund, obviously. Instead i was told it would need to be "tested", and it would take "only a couple of hours". That was a week ago. I have been emailing and contacting them on Facebook every day since. Still no refund. Not even an apology. I am shocked at how bad this service is. I thought CEX was a good company. I had so many good previous experiences. But this is appalling. And nobody in the company seems to think it is a problem. Amazing! be careful when dealing with them if an item does not work! And don't expect normal customer service. And they don't even seem to respect the Distance Selling Regulations - which are the law and state you should get a refund. Wow.

TO BE AVOIDED,My phone was stolen on 31 May in London (a purple iPhone 11).Thanks to the Find my iPhone application, I was able to block my phone.In other words, as soon as it turns on, it says that the phone has been "lost" (in reality, stolen).To my great surprise, it was located in this shop on 31 May in the late afternoon.I haven't heard from my phone since. I still have the location of my phone in the shop and proof that they are reselling it, as I've seen it in their stock. Now I'm a long way from London, there's nothing more I can do.They're thieves, they sell stolen phones, they don't even check where the phone came from.I find it scandalous that in 2023 companies are so unethical, I'm a student, I have no money to buy a new one . These people are making money off people in need and I find that unacceptable.I strongly advise against this shop.

During my last visit (17/06/2023, order RX797575), two of three items I picked - not including 1 pound items where discs were already available in boxes - had boxes with covers, but no discs to them (DVD Cruising, BD Gregory´s Girl). This had been rare in previous years in any CEX, unfortunately not so rare this year (in three from some 15+ shops that I visited this year mostly in London), but the reason why I picked Brixton is that is happened with two items, and that the shop assistant spent least time searching (compared to her colleagues in other shops), nor she seemed to care much in general, so this shop appeared least organized (or honest) to me. When one buys old discs from people basically for a peanut, one should take more care that they are on offer for customers in stores (and not traded online for better money). BTW, when CEX staff claims that missing discs were sold online, I do not understand why their boxes and covers still remain the shop, i.e. were not sold together with the discs.

Staff do not follow queuing system....they serve whoever just walks to the front. Items in stock on their system could not be found

Sold a phone to me that had couple minor cracks on it. Then I had a problem with battery and the guy called Karl the Asian looking fella said that he sold the phone with out the cracks and refused to sort out the battery even though I'm under a 12 months warranty. He was rude and to think I was about to spend £350 on another phone. Disgusting attitude towards the customer. My. Custom is definitely gone

Avoid at all costs, this entire company is a scam targeting people who don?t understand technology. TAKE YOUR CUSTOM ANYWHERE ELSE. Some pretty rude and disrespectful staff but I?m sure there just a few bad eggs. Overall NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. AVOID

Great place to sell your unwanted electricals, you can get a voucher for more money than you would get cash to buy something else in store. They have to test the goods you bring in first. Or you can just take the cash for it, which will be less than voucher.
