Big Fat zero stars. The UK Brixton Branch is quite frankly disgusting. The Attitude the staff have is as if you owe them money personally. The basic function of their job is to be inviting and to give clear concise information which they are incapable of doing. Avoid going to their tiny bat leer where they ignore you from the moment you enter. But it's a common thread with business in Jamaica. They are not customer-centric. It's as if you are bothering them in their private space. AVOID AT ALL EMOTIONAL COST!

I went to collect my new NCB card. Andrea Chamber's who had seen me before and said I should have the card sent to the branch so they can set up my online banking with me, was not there.After standing at the main door for close to a minute I was let in. I walked in and not one of the 3 staff members (2 women and one man) present looked up from their phone or acknowledged that a customer had walked in. I approached Latoy Thomas (sits on the left closer to the door) and stated that I was there to collect my card. She asked for my name and asked if I had my ID. I told her my name and said yes. There was no eye contact at all from her and she had not heard my reply as she was still looking down so asked again and looked at me annoyed that she had to repeat herself like I was deaf. I repeated myself and she gave me a dirty look as if I had not already stated the information she requested. Basic customer service of looking at the person you are speaking to should not need to be explained especially when you are on your mobile phone which should not be allowed while working anyway.Latoy then got up and kissed her teeth as she walked over to the files where another lady sat in the centre of the branch, she said something to the lady and the lady looked up and looked at me immediately which made it obvious Latoy had said something about me.She returned and I was asked to sign a paper which had numerous other customers' names and personal details (a clear breach in data protection). I was thrown the envelope (containing my card) across the table like she was dealing with an animal. I then asked about internet banking which I knew nothing about, again, no eye contact, I was told to go onto the NCB website. The setup process was not straightforward but I managed to get it done. The whole point of the card being collected was for the NCB staff at Brixton to guide me through the process.I have been to the NCB branch on two occasions and both times Latoy Thomas' attitude towards customers has been beyond disgusting, so much so that her colleagues have looked at her in a disapproving manner but have said nothing. She speaks to customers over the phone like rubbish and in a matter of fact tone as if the customer works at NCB and should know the answers to the questions they are querying with said NCB representative. She then hangs up the phone, kisses her teeth and complains where other customers in the branch can hear. If she doesn't like her job she should quit!!Latoy's attitude and behaviour spoiled my mood for that afternoon, she is in a customer facing role and should act accordingly. Not everybody has patience and should a customer deal with her as brash as she deals with them it would be an issue and the customer would be deemed in the wrong not the fact that her behaviour and attitude is rude, obnoxious and antagonistic. She is not working in a market but representing a brand and should behave as such.Latoy Thomas clearly needs customer service training and there needs to be protocol to protect customers personal details. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced!!

I called to make an appointment and spoke to Ann Marie. I had previously read reviews and was anxious about attending.. DELIGHTED TO CONFIRM the reviews about Ann Marie are absolutely true. She is expeditionary with her customer service skills. I had a great experience opening the account. She displayed willingness in helping not only me as a new customer but also advising my sibling as an existing customer. Amazing!!!! Highly recommended?. Ann Marie is fantastic.

We had the pleasure of being seen by Ann Marie she was very professional, extremely helpful and demonstrated a high standard of customer service. Very lovely lady and my mother I are very pleased with the experience. All staff also appeared very pleasant and polite.

I was thinking of going in to Brixton today to open an account as I am building my retirement home in Jamaica. It is so sad that so many Jamaicans in the reviews have found their experience with you traumatic and frustrating and frankly NCB have not made any real commitment to implement any positive changes to make the whole experience a more smoother & positive one for existing and new customers. It saddens me that because of these things I will look at Scotiabank instead of a Jamaican owned bank. NCB you need to do much better than this.

I went to the National Commercial Bank in Brixton to open an account. It was Andrea Chambers who assisted me, her customer service was excellent, she listen to whatever questions your asked and give you positive response. Andrea it was nice meeting you today keep up the good work.

No way do they help! Now apparently it is appointment only. Not on the door. I dont know but Customer Service is not in this branch. Waste of time and energy!

Had the pleasure of opening an acct with the branch. All went well with the first few transactions however, I've found that online transfers do take more than 5 days to reflect on local accts when deposits are made from the UK. It's not the best service when transacting business in Jamaica from overseas and equally, I tend to lose out on the exchange rate as it is calculated on the day it clears...... NOT the date it was sent. Staff have bent over backwards to assist whenever I call and the 3 stars review isn't a reflection of staff effort. The Jamaican banking system in general isn't equipped to cope with the services being driven. Online services are still operating at manual turnaround times when in fact, it should be real time updates ..... +/- 24 hrs maximum delay. Had to put a trace on my funds.......... inconvenience at its peak!Miss Setal Singh has been brilliant!!! Her professionalism is exemplary and had it not been for her, I would probably have closed the acct as quick as I opened it.
