Very helpful and knowledgeable staff with pharmacist able to assist with medical advice if required. Lots of things being sold to cheer yourself up when feeling poorly like scarves, hair bands, bubble bath and nail polish etc.

I have been using Holmes since coming into this area 28 years ago. There has been change of ownership over the years, but I have always found them friendly and professional. Very good advice always given and welcome.

Avoid - money focus rather than people focus! I was prescribed a medicine that's available over the counter and they failed to inform me (do the nice humane thing) - so I paid 9.65 (NHS prescription) instead of 6.50. Shameful.

I have lived in the area since 1983. I have always found the staff helpful and friendly. There are several pharmacists and I have found them to be helpful - I have received good advice that enabled me to return to my GP to move to a better prescription for me. Not sure how the bad reviews arise. On several occasions I have requested specific items and they have rung me when they have arrived. When I have rung I have had friendly helpful responses - Many thanks

Staff seem to be temperamental. Not very friendly, actions are quite passive aggressive. My family members and me have experienced their unwanted attitude on many occasions. Pharmacist doesn't look like she cares at all about what's going on. They say they close at 5:30 pm, however, I've got there at 5:30 pm exact and the door was already locked. As a pharmacy, putting patients first should be your biggest concern and that means ALL patients. They should consider providing last minute medication to those in need, especially if it comes straight from the GP. They need to work on their customer skills, I wonder if they treat all their customers in the area with such poor manners? If there was a closer pharmacy to me, I would go to it. Kindness isn't too hard to give out ladies, try it.

Totally agree with Abigail Max! I've lived in the area for over 30yrs and Holmes pharmacy have never been friendly or look happy in their work. There is one particular assistant who is very sour faced no customer care. They also do not answer the phone...they didn't have my particular medicine available and was told to phone to see if it was in the next afternoon. Needles to say the phone wasn't answered, so then had to make another trip down there! I really dislike going in there for anything. Perhaps Danny (fish shop) could open another pharmacy along the Parade!! The 1 star is for convenience.
