If I could give zero stars I would. The queuing times here are absolutely shocking. Despite long queues only 2 of the 6 tills were staffed. After waiting 40 minutes to post a return parcel I was charged for the pre-paid postage.Post office quote themselves as being? An anchor of UK communities? and ?driven by a strong social purpose: to be here, in person, for the people who rely on us.? unfortunately this is not true and they are in fact not here, not properly staffed, not well trained and not open at any convenient times.

Yetty at the East Dulwich Post Office was so helpful and kind that although I came in a bit stressed about a very large parcel I had to return, when I left not only had my parcel problem been solved (I had already been to another post office where they turned me away because of the size of the box) but my belief in good customer service had been restored! Yetty could easily have turned me away and said that the parcel was too large to weigh or too large to store but she was resourceful and found a way around both of these problems!

Today I was falsely imprisoned and locked in the post office for an hour and a half by the manager after attempting to claim a voucher which my daughter was entitled to as we are considered a low income family. Even his colleagues emphasised with me yet the manager did nothing to defuse the situation and was actually laughing and smirking whilst stood behind the police in an attempt to antagonise me. I will be making a formal complaint and seeing where I stand legally in this situation as I intend to escalate this.

I came to post office and there is only 2 clients and 4 staffs. Two of them chating. They call me to the till and one in the corner came to my tillvand start chating. When I left the post office I looked my receipt and the post code in Brazil was wrong. I went back and the staff was gone. I show it to another staff who don?t care much, doing the job very, very slow and went inside. Another staff was on the break and aske me to came back in 15 min.. ?

Dreadful service, long, long queues because the few staff on duty are incredibly slow and unmotivated, chat between themselves rather than deal with queue, don't appear to have any commitment to customer service. It was like this pre-Covid and has not improved in the years since. There was a 25 minute queue in late August, then they let 'business' customers skip the q!! Why? Avoid if at all possible - weigh parcels at home and put the correct stamps on.

Bad customer service from staff and lack of a decent selection of postage items to post your items.

Incredible rude staff and long queues. You really wonder how a place with such bad service can still exist.

Refused to exchange currency due to ?condition? (some of the dollar bills were crinkled as dollars are paper). Went to the Peckham branch and they exchanged them no issues. I think they just couldn?t be bothered to count them.

Dreadful service. Ordered money online, go to pick it up and they don?t have enough. Staff less than helpful and were not able to give me a refund. Do everyone a favour and close this office as it will stop people wasting their time

You can walk to Forest Hill Post Office, get served and then walk back all quicker than queuing for this place

I would give it no star to this post office if there is such an option. The queue was slow. And by the time it's my term, the service staff (a lady) made me wait for a good 3 minutes for no good reason (twiddling her thumbs???). When she has finally called to service, she interrogated me for the purpose of the package (it was a return), and the value, and whether it was new or not. I told her I just need the parcel to be tracked, and she quoted £7.65 (for a small U.K domestic parcel/200g)!!! I later learnt that what she quoted was Special Delivery, which was the next day service which I did not need. I decided on the spot that's not what I wanted to pay hence decide not to post. Then she got really mad and claimed I had no idea what it takes to post the stuff bla bla bla... Her attitude was appalling!!In a "more normal" setting, the price could have been explained and clarified easily and I would have chosen the 24/48 hr delivery option. Instead she had to throw a small tantrum in front of me and other customers, which is embarrassing to say the least. and I had to visit a different Royal Mail branch, which I did. The staff there friendly explained the price structure, and the package finally posted, at a reasonable price. This is the third time I visited this Lordship Lane branch. Out of the three times, I only had one positive experience there. So 1/3. Everyone's experience might vary. But suffice to say I'll try to avoid this branch as much as possible.
