I found Q2 Locks Parlour LTD by chance on Instagram. From the initial first contact message I sent, it was handled professionally and politely. The shop has a wonderful clean ambiance, and the staff are warm and friendly. Quentin is an absolute wizard, and I'm extremely happy with his work. I would highly recommend this business to anyone interested. 10/10.

I had a very good and excellent service,done on my hair. For number 1, i am thankful because i mistakenly went there a day earlier before my appointment day, not intentional though. I was still given a warm welcome and was luckily squeezed in within there busy schedule. My hair was treated so good, I had left a happy person and i will definitely make Q2 my home for the good health of my hair. Worthy my 1hr 45 minutes travel as i was impressed with their service. I highly recommend them, you wont be disappointed

I got my locs started here and have had one retwist session so far and I am happy with the service. I will bullet point a few things I like about this place:- The salon is really well decorated. It is bright and modern.- The online booking system makes it easy to book, reschedule, and cancel appointments. I really don't understand why so many other salons still insist that you call/text to book appointments.- I love that they don't use gel/wax and they use pure Shea butter and oils instead so that you don't get buildup.- They take the time to respond to text messages even though they're busy. I've asked so many questions lol.- The salon is nice and calm. The locticians don't spend their time gossiping loudly (on the phone or to each other) and eating, as is so common in other salons. They are very professional and respectful.- I personally like that the locticians are African. It just makes me feel a bit more at home.The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that I wish they would be more gentle with my hair - they are no rougher than other salons I've been to in the past and are actually probably a little bit more gentle.I really can't be bothered to do my hair anymore so I'll be going here every month until I suddenly regain the motivation to do my own hair ?

I'm very disappointed with my experience here. The loc work and facilities weren't the problem, the service was TERRIBLE. I travelled two hours and my locitian hadn't looked at my booking and didn't read the description of my locs.I showed him I had loose bubbles of hair throughout my locs and he took one loc and crocheted it. He then said 'so that's it then?' and tried to get me to pay for one loc. I explained the issue was with most of them and he exclaimed in annoyance.From then, the service was extremely lackluster:- he skipped over most locs that need repairing, so I had to prompt him- each time I pointed out a loc that needed fixing he would sigh and breathe heavily in annoyance- I was treated like an inconvenience- this went on for 30 minutesI was so uncomfortable by his constant expressing of irritation towards me that I told him the locs were done. They in fact were not.He then walked away silently and waited at reception for me to realise he wanted me to pay and leave.It's really disappointing as the repair was done well and I'd like to do my locs here, however I can't sit through such appalling service again.

Been going here for over a year and this was my first time getting locs.Service | The customer service has been consistantly good and the team makes me feel comfortable.Atmosphere | The atmosphere is is relaxed but professional.Hair service | I've always been a bit nervous with people handling my hair but Q2 staff have been great. I often go for a wash & retwist and it is a gentle, relxaing experince and they seem all very well-experinced.Price | Being honest the prices have gone up but considering that 1) they reolcated, 2) provide more services 3) rise in cost of living, inflatation ect. 4) expanding on clients and popularity. considering all these factors, it's understandable that price has gone up but understand why.Overall | Great specalist salon and a good safe space for black people.

After an initial consultation, my 15 year old son had his first wash and retwist here on 22nd Aug. Fantastic job. Very professional and reasonably priced. The products smell amazing and the shop is very clean. We would definitely recommend and will be using again. Thank you ?

Impeccable service, style and genuine care. The spirit of dreads!I had a long session at Q2 Locs Parlour yesterday starting at 09:30 with washing of my long dreads then colouring several golden bronze. The hair wash was really soothing, shampoo smelt amazing, and the time given to them for a thorough wash in a basin was more time than I've given them in the 7 years growing them.Quentin then spent a few hours interlocking them since I have not had them tidied for more than a year and many of them had become matted together over time. Having washed my dreads it made it easier to tear the matted locks apart which was in itself a baptism by fire which I had to breathe into - all of my own doing for leaving them uncared for, for too longQuentin's nature seems innately calm and confident and he gently tugged and pulled each dread apart and interlocked them like threading cotton through the eye of a needle. It felt like he was zoned into an interlocking meditation even when talking to another person or answering his phone.The regrowth of my dreads was also long and some of the roots seemed very thin that I wondered if they would withstand the tugging through on interlocking. Quentin's expertese and knowledge had it all in hand. I learnt a few new things about dreads and their care. For example that with long regrowth or especially thinning roots the worst thing you can do is to try to fortify the hair by binding more hair around the root stem. This makes the dread over heavy and more vulnerable to breaking especially when threading and interlocking.Also the technique of crocheting the dreads to tidy split or frayed dreads can be time-consuming (costing money per hour) when unnecessary. Better to interlock and then trim. The hair growth is at the roots not the frayed ends. The trimming made the end result look neat and sharp.My head felt a little sore after the work was finished but I was surprised that by night my head was not throbbing or sensitive to rest on the pillow as it has been in the past. Any soreness was practically gone by morning and the neatness and compactness of the dreads really looks amazing, tidy, much more elegant and easier to manage, twisting it into a bundle on top of my head or tying it long with a few of its own dreads.I was really impressed with the clean and modern minimalist Q2 Locs salon, the care and attention taken by quiet AJ, Quentin's innate professionalism, and especially his gentle heart-mind and spirit. Quentin feels the spirit of each person's dreads and cares for them from a place of Knowing because he has his own immaculate 18-year-long deep black dreads. Dreads matter. And in his caring and handling of them I felt he was focussed, authentic, genuine, and peaceful .Amazing.Definitely and without a doubt Q2 Locs is the place I'd return to have my dreads taken great care of.

Not good at all very unprofessional. Deposit taken. Then booking changed at last min. When tried to get in touch with loctition was told someone would be in touch and noone has. Very disappointing indeed. Be careful when considering
