If you're looking to complicate and disrupt your life, then this bank is definitely your top choice! Let me share my experience, starting with my attempts to attend a brunch at Canary Wharf. I signed up for a brunch there, thinking it would be convenient since it was close to home. Initially, they told me the brunch was scheduled for a month later, and I was willing to wait. However, when the day arrived, it turned out to be a holiday, and the bank was closed. When I called to explain the mistake, I received a curt response, essentially telling me to wait another month, without any apology or acknowledgment of their error. Imagine waiting months just for one brunch appointment. After enduring months of struggle, I finally attended the brunch, but the ordeal was far from over. I had to wait for about 20-25 minutes for Mr. Sam, who seemed indifferent to my scheduled time. Sam was the person I was supposed to meet for brunch, and little did I know, he would be the source of my frustration. Let's continue with the tale of this dreadful bank and its terrible service.I began explaining the bank's mistake and the months of waiting due to their lack of organization to Sam. He dismissively looked at my complaints and rudely asserted that it was my problem, and the bank couldn't have made a mistake. I was shocked by his response, but luckily, I had screenshots of my correspondence and SMS with the bank. However, he didn't even bother to glance at them and continued to speak condescendingly and loudly, trying to quickly brush me off. And it only got worse from there.Sam deserves special attention in this story, though not in a positive way. He was far from being a specialist; in fact, he was rude, arrogant, and lacked basic knowledge about commonplace banking matters. I had to provide Google-backed evidence for every claim I made about bank documents just to make him believe me. After 20 minutes of arguing , he reluctantly clarified my questions, but that wasn't the end of it. He continued speaking to me rudely, condescendingly, and in a raised tone. As a bonus, he threw my passport back at me and cast a disdainful look, suggesting I come back in another month because he couldn't (or wouldn't) help.I cannot understand how the bank employs such an unprofessional, rude, and arrogant individual who clearly has personal issues and even exhibits nationalistic behavior. This reflects the bank's lack of professionalism and its careless attitude toward its clients. I have decided that I will never return to this bank or use their services again.

Horrible non customer centric bank. Had an appointment to fix my mortgage rate and advised to use the app as it was easier than going over it with an advisor. The app didn?t failed when I tried to change my rate so called up and was advised that they would prefer I wait for a couple days rather than do it over the phone with me or in branch. Called again and told I should wait a few more days for the rate switch in the app and when I called again they said the app doesn?t work and the rate I wanted has gone up over 2% and it was tough and I should pay them more money every month.Absolute no care, terrible advice and shocking service.Trying to a raise a case to the financial ombudsman and they provide me with no updates, no documentation and no information so have prevented me from complaining and blocked anyway to get a redress of the situation! They were supposed to provide a final resolution by 40 working days latest according to the Banking charter and their own stated standards. It is now over 120 days and the case has not even been picked up by a complaint handler and I have received no updates from them in any format!Update: Barclays have offered compensation equivalent to 2% of what they were intended on overcharging me by. Absolute joke of a bank with terrible business ethics!

I had an appointment at Canary wharf Barclays Bank on 12/09/2023 (10.00am), but I was treated unreasonably by three Indian staff who were performing tasks for the day! racism? My friend has already applied for a bank account (37591945) online, but needs to bring proof of identity to the bank. However, we encountered unfair treatment. They said that our friend's bank statement was fake... .Is it fair to prevent my friend from making another appointment? The passport and documents are all complete. I hope the bank will pay attention to their service attitude?

Barclays' continual funding of fossil fuels, despite overwhelming scientific agreement, is disappointing. It's time for serious measures to diverge from this harmful trajectory #stopgreenwashing

Poor experience in this branch as a potential new customer ! What?s more, It reminded me the shape of a fuel pipeline! I?m Impressed to notice Barclays remain at the forefront of banks supporting energy growth through firms such as Total Energies, among others. In spite of conflicting scientific views, Barclays is steadfast and committed. Kudos to their perseverance! #sustainabledrive

Impressed to find that Barclays is a top bank backing the growth of fossil fuels through firms like Total Energies. Commendable how Barclays continues to demonstrate leadership, despite the consensus. Go Barclays! #supportprogress

Incompetent, had one appointment cancelled the night before for no reason, then they couldn't turn their computer on, and the staff are not able to make any decisions by themselves. After what should have been a routine check, I decided to switch banks after the meeting and advise everyone using Barclays to do the same.

Came here twice once for a trust fund issue and another for a legal name change. The first issue was for my sister and I was accompanying her. The woman that was assigned to us was beyond helpful and so kind I forgot her name but she was a gem! I believe she was some sort of manager but honestly outstanding service. Thank you. The second legal name change was achieved swiftly, with no issues.

Told by a staff member that "your parents should have named you Tom" and harassed about having a Chinese name when asking to correct their mistake on an profile, saying "how do you pronounce your name" and "see I got it right" after butchering it. When asked for a name for her feedback, said her name was "josette, if you can pronounce it". Thoroughly racist.

Very poor experience in opening a bank account at this branch. Very rude and not flexible at all as i was late for 15 min due to strikes happening that day and coming from afar. I do not recommend this branch at all. The employees do not represent the bank properly and do not know how to handle customers that are stressed out and worried about not being paid in due course. They showed no empathy and were not willing to help. Its really a shame for a international bank as Barclays.

Be prepared to get your appointment canceled without notice if you are 3 minutes late. People deserve way better and more professional customer service.

This review pertains to Barclays online, app and phone help, not a physical branch (but you?d be lucky to find one of those).Customer service is well hidden but ineffectual when you do find it. Lots of barriers to deflect you to bots and automated systems that don?t understand plain English eg the month of your date of birth. I?ve been a customer since 1976 but am getting so frustrated with Barclays that I?ll probably close my accounts shortly.

This review is strictly for the branch and not Barclays as a whole - I went to this branch a couple times to sort out a major issue and Aida (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) was absolutely incredible. I was dealing with some personal issues as well and she treated me with so much kindness and empathy. She was helpful, empathetic, sharp - completely restored by faith in bank branch staff.

Blocking my transactions to one of my personal accounts with no notification or explanation as to why.Live chat customer service is listed as "24/7" yet was waiting for 30 minutes to speak to an agent using this service (after being told it was a 13 minute wait), then the chat function was disabled at 22:50 (presumably to neglect the ongoing chats and close the contact centre early) "Sorry, the chat function isn't available right now"Service status says that live chat is up and running with no issues which is clearly false information. Ended up sending my funds to a different UK personal bank account and completed my transactions with no issue. shockingly poor customer service (or lack there of).For a bank which made over £4 billion profit in the 2022 financial year, you would think they would at least have a few agents available 24/7.Will be raising a formal complaint regarding this and likely switching to a different bank account purely due to the fact that customers with a night time circadian rhythm are excluded from being able to access the customer service function or speak to anyone.

Very small branch so it does get hectic fairly easy. However, it is still convenient branch, on my last your staff member Marilyn was very polite and helpful accommodating my request despite the short notice, thank you!
