We used the British Heart Foundation store at Leytonstone to help us clear our flat in Bow of furniture before we sold it. The service was excellent. They came when they said they would to view the furniture and the communication was very clear about what they could use etc. When the time came to remove the furniture late last month they came when they said they would come (and they phoned half an hour before arrival as they said they would) and they took away the furniture very carefully and professionally. I would recommend them highly - and in particular the two men who removed the furniture (I am sorry I cannot remember their names). And of course it all helps a very good charity. Highly recommended.

Would absolutely give zero stars if it was possibleMe and my husband visited the store recently and saw a reasonably priced wardrobe that we liked as we recently moved to an unfurnished apartment. We opted for delivery but asked the store if this would be possible as we live on the first floor meaning there are stairs. We were assured all will be fine. This was not the case as when the delivery was made the driver (who came with one can only assume was his child or someone who looked very young and therefore would not be able to help with the wardrobe) refused to take the wardrobe up the stairs claiming it was too heavy and for health and safety. I agree the wardrobe was heavy but why was this not explained when we opted for delivery and double/triple checked it would be possible. The delivery man was patient and then did get a little rude refusing to compromise or even attempt to deliver it telling me I was welcome to try myself. His ?colleague? simply stared at me.I then spoke to a manager on the phone who offered a refund and explained it wouldn?t have been able to move to first floor flat - this was NOT explained when we purchased the item at the store.I went into the store on my day off and was refused a full refund only a partial one was offered stating delivery costs would remain. This is not acceptable as no acceptable delivery was made and even though this is not about the money it?s about the principle, when I was in store trying to collect a refund, I was spoken to rudely and told to go stand and make my decision and get back to the worker as she was extremely busy and had ?a lot to do?. I found her extremely rude and was not understanding my point. She then proceeded to offer me a £35 discount if I spent £100 more in store. Quite frankly after this experience I wouldn?t come back to this specific store.Don?t believe them when they guarantee delivery because it is clear reading other reviews that they are not truthful and do not follow through. It is quite sad to be honest and again my review is not about money it?s about the principle of saying delivery is a definite option. I should not have been told it would be an option because they kept the wardrobe on the ground floor for a reason. No apology was given instead I was made to feel like I was to blame for this as someone who works in mental health, perhaps the staff as well as delivery people should be given extra training in this regard

Complete waste of time. Walked 20mins to donate my air fryer and they refused it as they were apparently ?too full at the back?? it?s just a tiny air fryer, guys, not a 3-piece suite! If you?re not accepting donations you should make it clear like other charity shops do, by putting a sign out the front.

Cute little store, prices can be far to high on certain items and delivery is expensive, especially when the 2 guys delivering wont take up stairs, still, it took me, 1 female to get it into my flat... Maybe you should employ us girls to do the heavy work ?

Have donated furniture before to BHF Furniture, Walthamstow, no problem. Tried to donate a large 6/8 place wooden kitchen table in need of a little TLC but still worth £70/£80/£100, it would sell. People would accept that for a reduced price. REFUSED AT THE DOOR firstly by the driver and then by the manager of the shop. Disgusted. BHF Furniture are VERY "selective"/"picky" in the donations they accept these days. Very disappointed.

Great service! You can find all sort of furnitures that suit all tastes, from modern to vintage, from expensive to cheap ones. Sonny helped us finding the perfect items as well as keeping us smiley! Delivery service was impeccable and the drivers were very kind and helped us moving the furniture around. Highly recommended!

Terrible service. I tried to donate a bed with mattress. It was arranged to be donated the day before my flat sale went through. The mattress was foam with a zip-on cover. The cover had some minor stains, that would almost certainly come out in the wash, but I couldn't wash it because it would destroy the fire label and I knew they wouldn't take it without seeing the label intact. When they rang me up to arrange the collection time I explained this to the woman on the phone and she said 'Don't worry, if you explain that to the collection team they'll definitely collect it.' If she hadn't said that then I would have found another way to pass the furniture on, eg freecycling it, as I did with some of my other furniture that I knew they wouldn't want. When the team came around to collect it this morning, they refused to take it because of the stains. They dismissed what the woman on the phone said because 'She's a volunteer and not authorised to make that decision.' They also agreed with me that washing it would have cleared the stains while destroying the fire label, but said 'We don't wash things.' All they could do was promise they'd report back to the branch and get someone to ring me that day.I emailed the store to reinforce the need to ring me, and tried ringing/left a voicemail as soon as the office opened. But no call back, in spite of what was promised. The end result is I was left with a large object in my flat that I had to get rid of immediately with no easy way to do so, during a week day.

Tried giving to this organisation as I'd rather see it go to good use then to dispose of. After submitting online and 3 emails plus 2 calls to chase the enquiry I finally get one call back 4 days later that I missed due to work, followed by an email stating they can't collect because they never got through! I called back immediately after the missed call 3 times plus email and nothing!!Laughable process really! Clearly you don't need perfectly good furniture!

Lady in charge there was absolutely disgraceful and extremely rude to my husband and I.We came to pick up a table we purchased and we mistakenly used the back entrance to enter the shop whilst the lads were kindly loading our item. She nearly bit off our heads even though we apologised twice. she also accused us and said she didn?t believe us!Well? I have never been treated so rudely by staff in my whole life. It?s a shame because I love to support charities. And I will continue to do so: but not at Leytonstone branch, unfortunately!

They don't take disassembled furniture but don't tell you that on the website when you book a collection.

Very sad, organising for items to be collected and no-one pitched. Furthermore, they pretended the numbers given were not correct even though I had been called x2 to confirm. i was told that the drivers tried to call but no-one picked up however no missed calls on the mobile and no messages. Pity as its for a good cause.
