Terrible! The hotel's light and air-conditioning controls don't work. We had to sleep one night with full lighting. It was not possible for the staff to turn off the lights. We could only change the room the next day. In the new room, the heating could not be switched off. The whole stay (was a horror). But the best thing was that the hotel was not willing to give any refund.

Superb stay at this boutique hotel. Have stayed a few times and the staff are always so friendly and attentive to your every need. The club rooms are so comfortable with comfortable bed up a winding staircase and separate work area downstairs. Breakfast is delicious with lots of choice of the freshest ingredients. Walking distance to Canary Wharf and Poplar DLR is only a 5min walk away. Highly recommended!

This is one of the best hotels I have ever been. Staff super kind, all you need in the room. You have a nice breakfast and a nice room service as well. I had to work in the room and was very silent, I could enjoy my time even if I had to stay locked all day let?s say for work.

Very friendly staff on check in. Sadly, we had a problem in the first room we were offered. Renzo handled our concerns swiftly & effectively, moving us to a different room. Peaceful residential area. Would certainly stay again.

Beautiful hotel and super friendly staff, we will definitely be returning. They made our anniversary weekend that extra bit special with the finer details such as the hand drawn card we were given upon check in and the heart balloon ? Ultra modern room, we opted for the Club Room which was just gorgeous. So quiet, no noise can be heard from outside or other rooms, and the shower was amazing. Complimentary use of the gym, sauna and steam room which was amazing. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, see you next year ?

Beautiful environment but more importantly the breakfast and staff went above and beyond and made me feel welcome. There attention to detail was amazing. Friendly and professional. The food was lovely and a good range of quality produce. Fresh bread and freshly made coffee was on offer.

We had a split level room which was clean and comfortable but quite small. £125 was held as a security deposit which we were told would be released once we had left as long as the room was OK! We have had our card swiped for incidentals before but never been held to ransom over the consequences of spoiling a room! In the room, there was a list of further rules in a ?welcome? letter with the threat of a £200 fine should we transgress. Needless to say, we have no intention of booking again with a hotel that threatens its guests and warns them of the consequences should they not behave.

We stopped at the Lansbury Hotel for 2 nights we had the split level room which was very nice but felt a little small when getting ready to go out. The bed was on the high level then there was a second level with the air conditioning unit like a small landing and then down some more stairs to the bathroom and dressing area which my wife and I had to take in turn to get ready. All very nice though. The breakfast was very good lovely buffet plenty of choice replenished regular to keep it fresh. Ashrafe Abelka looked after us every morning making sure all was well and everything was how we liked it. Breakfast was from 7- 10 Location was further out than we normally stay but it?s very quiet. The Elizabeth line and Canary Wharf tube station was a 13 minute walk from the hotel there was a bridge to get you from one side of the main road to the other steps and a lift to get you to the top. We had some lovely walks through the financial district to the Thames River path and walked to the city centre plenty of stops on the way to have a glass of wine. We loved it a part of London that we would not have seen had we not stayed at the Lansbury. We would definitely stay here again but would not have the split level room.

An excellent hotel in a good location giving easy access to the O2 and other areas of London. The Sara and the staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient. We had two rooms which were very comfortable, although in one room there were niggling issues with shower and curtains. We had breakfast which was good and again the staff in the restaurant were efficient, attentive and very helpful as one of our party had allergies to deal with. Without the niggles we would have rated excellent.

Beautiful hotel. Staff are amazing. Our breakfast was delicious and made even better by the attentive Ashrafe Abeka. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We ordered omelette and they were super. Nice, relaxed atmosphere.

We booked a classic room it?s very compact!! and felt claustrophobic! The only window was a small one in the bathroom which was next to the main room so not a lot of natural light and you couldn?t open it either for fresh air. The toilet was literally next to the bed in the room so if you wanted to do you thing the person in the bed next door could hear it all!! This because the room was so compact We turned up about 12:30 to check in, they said that our room is ready would we like to check in early we thought ?why not? the hotel wanted to charge £25 for it. I don?t understand this as the room was ready anyway ? The positives are the hotel and room was very nice and clean and the breakfast was good.

Amazing hotel and very close to Poplar Station so easy to get to Canary Wharf and Waterloo. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and the rooms were very clean. The hotel has history with photos of George & Angela Lansbury. Big shout out to Stole on the front desk, helpful and made our stay a very happy one. In Fact all the staff were great ?

I stayed here to attend an event at the O2. It's a 10-minute walk from Canary Wharf which is then a tube ride to the O2. The hotel is lovely - very smart, well kept, luxurious even. I was greeted by a lovely member of staff on the desk who checked me in swiftly and answered all my Q's. The room was lovely, comfy luxurious double bed with a variety of pillows (soft, hard etc), TV was large & had a nice welcome greeting on. Tea/coffee facilities with proper cups (not thick mugs!) and a little fridge with complimentary water in. Little window overlooking Canary Wharf. The bathroom was spacious, smart and very clean - only downside was the fan was extremely noisy and the door swung shut and I wanted to potter in & out getting ready, so I just propped it open. Climate control in room was excellent, not too stuffy, or cold, also had really cool touch lights and switches which was nice touch with bedside lamps, overhead chandelier and LED lamps for reading. I paid an excellent price to stay here, paid more for a basic hotel so I would happily stay here again & then just tube in/out of London it was that nice. Highly recommend

We had a very late check after seeing a concert at O2. The hotel hung up on us when we tried to get help to get to get back to the hotel. We were disappointed that a supposed good hotel couldn?t offer us anything to drink or eat on our arrival. We were sent down Poplar High Street after midnight in search of food, not an experience to be recommended. The room was pleasant to look at but way too hot and with an overpowering fragrance trying to disguise a revolting smell of drains in the bathroom. We dashed straight off in the morning to watch the Marathon and were appalled to hear that the hotel would ?release? the utterly unreasonable security deposit of £200 but we mightn?t receive it for 5-7 days. We complained that the level of deposit was unacceptable and retention even worse. Overall very disappointing

When we arrived at the hotel we were asked to pay a £200 deposit, (not card details to cover any room charges, not that there was a mini bar to run up a bill with!), but £200 taken from our account. We were taken aback but given that it was late and it was a non-refundable booking we had no choice but to accept it. We arrived late after an event at the O2. The website says that it offers a car service. We called the hotel twice to arrange a car. The first time we were hung up on and the second time there was no answer. Having looked at the website and amenities. and considering the cost of the room (£358), we had expected to be able to get room service, if not a drink at the hotel bar, but were told the bar had closed at 9:30. This is very early for a London hotel on a Saturday night. There was nothing in the mini bar other than two bottles of water, tea and coffee sachets and milk UHT milk. If we wanted to eat we were advised to walk to Poplar High Street. There was nothing available other than fast food take aways. When we went up to our room the corridors smelt overwhelmingly of air freshener, which suggested that there was something that was being covered up. It was so strong it stung our eyes and we were concerned that it would be equally strong in the room. On entering our room we could smell damp. Luckily it wasn't strong and appeared to be only near the door. The room and bathroom were clean and appointed well however, the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows could do with replacing. On check out the room was checked and after 10 mins confirmation sent to reception confirming that everything was in order! We've never known anything like it! Fair enough take card details to charge extras such as mini bar, room service etc... but to check for damage is extraordinary. Whether the hotel was good or not, the fact Management consider this policy necessary suggests that the hotel too regularly has guests that behave badly and so it isn't somewhere we would want to go back to. The final insult was to learn that it could take up to 14 days for the money to be returned to our account. Other than a clean bathroom, we can't find anything redeeming to say about this hotel. We usually stay at one of the Soho House properties and we are kicking ourselves that we didn't stick to what we know.
