Expensive (may have been our wine!) but the steak was good. Atmosphere was alright but full of business people!

Tea time here is awesome- love their scotch egg. Came back here for their beef Wellington. Of course it is delicious, but my another highlight is the side dish- truffle matched potato.

Service was appalling - slow, we were forgotten and the staff were dismissive and uninterested when we asked for it to be better.Food was mediocre for the price. My husband?s pork belly was inedible - was fat only, no meat served at all! Beef was ok - satisfactory but nothing special.Asked for discount - due to pork served being 99% pure fat - and because of the terribly slow and absolutely inept service. Was told ?Well, we?re busy today?, yet the restaurant was only half full and it was Sunday - i.e. very much likely their known busiest day as it?s a restaurant known for serving roasts and also, it was a Sunday! Poor excuse and I suggested that wasn?t a great attitude to display (a brief and simple sorry would?ve gone a long way)Finally agreed a £50 discount - didn?t pay for the fat (pork belly) or service charge but still felt short changed when paying £200 bill. Will not return - so many better, friendlier, cheaper places to go for a roast.

Have eaten here many times over the years, and never been disappointed. Food and service are outstanding, the views are lovely, and the light filled space during the day makes me happy. The porridge is particularly a favorite of mine; perfectly cooked and seasoned, I can't say enough about it.

Food was OK, nothing especially!!.. Beef Willington... Not what I expected. We decide to try desserts... Even worse... Weird combination... Of cheese cake and profiteroles. Better places for desserts defenetely..!!!.

Nice roast, but I think it is a little over priced comparing with typical pub roasts.

Came here for an afternoon tea with a friend. The afternoon tea itself was great, all the food was lovely and there was a good selection of tea to choose from. However, the service really let this place down. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food to be brought to us after ordering - by this time we?d almost finished the tea we?d been served and we weren?t offered a top up. Tables around us that had ordered after us were delivered their afternoon tea before we got ours and also received an explanation on what everything was, where we received nothing. I had to prompt the waiter to even find out where our food was. Good food but let down by very disappointing service - we weren?t even offered an apology or expiration for why it had taken so long.

My friend and I shared the crab starter which was good. Really fresh and seasoned perfectly. We then each had a steak - one fillet, one sirloin, triple cooked chips and broccoli. Both steaks were cooked medium-rare as we'd asked, the fillet was perfect but the sirloin less so. It had a lot of sinew within the steak making it difficult to cut through and chew. For £40+ piece of meat you expect perfection. The chips were not triple cooked, no crunch, moist and overcooked - how did they manage that? The broccoli was fine but can you really mess up broccoli? The wine was good too but seriously overpriced. You're paying for a carafe what most places would charge for a bottle and we were ordering from the lower priced end of the menu. All and all, although the evening was perfectly pleasant I came away knowing I wouldn't be going back. It's expensive dining in London these days and so when you push the boat out i.e. £240 for 1.5 courses for 2 people and a bottle of wine it's got to be better than what you can get at a 'standard' restaurant. I guess that's the reason why the place was mostly empty on a Friday night!

Food was good - when we eventually got it. Service was terrible - it wasn't busy at all, no atmosphere. We arrived at 1pm waited a while to check-in, (long story short) at 2.30 we still hadn't got our lunch and people were hungry, I asked the manager who pointed out the food was ordered at 1:30, I said "an hour is still a long time", his response "well actually it is more like 50 minutes" loaded death stare at me, talking like I had just crawled out from under a rock. Then proceeded to tell me if I wanted lunch sooner I should have asked for the mains with the starters. Food arrived 2.50pm. Ran out of water, ran out of drinks. Won't be returning.

What a great spot for traditional British roast. The Yorkshire pudding was excellent and the beef was tasty and tender. The cocktails were also quite delicious. It?s definitely not a Sunday night at the pub and far more upscale. And such a great location right in the borough market.
