I made two separate orders online, the quality of the clothes wasn't great, one dress looked really cheap and the material clung to me. Each time I returned an item, the tracking didn't work and over a month later I had to chase for my refund. The second time they're refusing to pay me back as I don't have my Royal mail receipt for postage - despite sending them the electronic version of the tracking number, when and where it was posted (with a timestamp), a screenshot of evidence of handing the item over and two emails from River Island telling me the item had been handed over and my refund was in process. It's another two weeks on and they still refuse to refund me. 2/2 I've had issues and I'm still £47 out of pocket. They have now lost a customer for life because of how terribly they have handled this. I now do not trust ordering online at all.

Really disappointed today from unprofessional and rude way how the store manager (Nikki ) deal with my inquiry just politely approached to her asking pass my feedback regarding a boys t-short which I bought last two week was full price and this week was supposed in sale but they put same price so they put same price . During talking to her she left me and got . Very rude she need be good example to her team . And care about customer inquiry.

The customer service was professional at all. Although I found a light pink dress that I liked, it had a small amount of dirt on it, so I asked for a new one. After waiting for 10 minutes, they brought me a replacement that was in an acceptable condition. However, when I received the item after paying for it, I noticed that it was covered in blackish dirt. It turned out that the curly-haired black woman had placed the dress on an unclean surface while she wasn't paying attention. She apologized and directed me to the lower floor for a refund without any further assistance!

Me and my coworkers went to this shop today to find work uniforms. As we were walking around the shop, one of my colleagues had mentioned that one of the staff pointed at us to the security guy asking him to keep an eye on us?! I didn?t hear/notice that, but when my colleagues went to the fitting room to try a couple of suits, the security guy directed one of the team members to stay in the fitting room (after we got there, as no one was there before). After he asked him to check every cabin (even though my colleagues were inside!). I then approached nicely the security men asking if there was any issue that he was following us. He started shouting at me and said we must leave the shop! For no reason! He escorted us to the exit but we didn?t want to stay anyway so I asked him to leave us alone cause we were leaving anyway. Him and another man with dark curly hair started shouting at us and accusing for us being pickpockets! He then grabbed my arms and pushed me outside the shop - twice! When my colleague had seen it, she asked what was he doing?! After her reaction he grabbed her too and pushed outside the shop. My arms were so red and sore, and we were absolutely embarrassed and shocked of what happened in front of everyone - but we didn?t do anything wrong! Absolutely disgusting and aggressive behaviour for no reason! The situation has been reported to the police. I hope the management of River Island will finally do something about it because no customers can feel safe there!

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SHOP!As you can see on other reviews I'm also one of the victims of the incident with the manager (a guy with black curly hair) and security guard (black with dreads) of the shop. My colleges and I went to this shop to buy new uniforms for work(we were 3 of us), since we entered the shop one of my colleges and I heard the manager of the shop telling the security guy to keep an eye on us because "we are pickpockets". We didn't give attention to his comment and we choose some suits to try them on, on our way to the fitting room we see the security guard following us on the escalator, the two of us tried the suits on while the other one stayed outside, My colleague outside the fitting rooms asked politely to the security guard if there was any issue as we felt he was following us, He started getting really defensive and aggressive claiming he doesn't have to give any explanations to her, when the two of us heard this from the fitting room we came outside to check what was happening, he was claiming that we were "accusing" him of following us although he then accused us to be thieves and pickpockets. He asked us to leave in a really rude way while shouting and we were doing so but meanwhile, he was behind us shouting us to leave. When we got to the entrance he pushed one of my colleagues and when she turned around and asked him what he was doing, he grabbed her arms really hard and threw her out of the shop, (He left red marks on her)when I saw this I tapped his shoulder and claim him what was he doing and he did the same to me. The manager of the shop and him ACCUSED US to be thieves and pickpockets and of course with no evidence. Police is taking care of this actions as it was a frustrating, embarrassing and stressful experience. SECURITY CANNOT PHYSICALLY TAKE SOMEONE OUT UNLESS THEY ARE RESISTING, ABUSIVE VERBALLY OR A HAZARD TO OTHERS WHICH WE WERE NOT. We will do as much as we can to compensate this unacceptable behaviour as none of us felt safe after what occurred and not even interested by the other manager on shift to help us or even to apologise. I feel compelled to bring to your attention the unacceptable behavior displayed by your security guards towards my colleagues, resulting in mistreatment, physical assault, and the unwarranted accusation of theft. To our shock and dismay, your security guards began screaming and shouting without any provocation, accusing my colleagues of being pickpockets.This unjustified verbal assault was not only embarrassing but also deeply distressing for everyone present.To make matters worse, the situation escalated into physical violence as your security guards forcibly grabbed, manhandled and threw my colleagues out of the store.Following the incident, we lodged a complaint with your store's management and contacted your head office, seeking resolution and accountability for the mistreatment and assault we endured. Unfortunately, we were met with a disappointing lack of concern, sincerity, and an absence of any genuine apology from your organisation.I request that you conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. We urge you to hold your security guards accountable for their unwarranted behavior and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

The staff on the lower ground ( black girl with curly hair) was very rude. She shouted at me because I kept a bag on the shelf to see how it compares to another bag. I had gone there looking very casual in my sweats , no makeup and hair in a messy bun and I think she was being judgemental and racist. Made the experience absolutely horrible.

although i always order online never had any issues, today i visited the OXFORD STREET outlet in London 473 Oxford St, London W1C 2AU, i went inside and brought some nice clothes and was waiting in the queue for payment and its been 15 mins i was in the queue and finally when i arrived at the till the Indian origin lady didn't even have the courtesy to say SORRY TO KEEP YOU WAITING, River island you need to teach some manners to this third world country people working in your stores, even after serving i said thank you she didnt even have the courtesy to say thank you and bye, customers either big or small have a respect for the time we come in ur store and stand in patience to be served but not like this uneducated staff from third world
