Overall the running of this asda is below satisfactory. I have been coming here for the past 5 years.The tills are never used, the customer service tills are poorly managed, stock is available but not always put on the shelves properly...The only positives are the meal deal, 3 for the price 2 (cheapest item free) and the sweet lady Shobhana, she is always willing to help everyone and extremely jolly. She goes out of her way for customers.

First of all, the lack of service in the store is a big joke, 4 perpetually empty cash registers and a queue halfway through the store to the self-service checkouts, where there is usually no one to help. Instead of going to the cash register and serving customers, employees engage in activities such as disassembling goods, even though many people are waiting for help. The service is unpleasant and rude. There is a shortage of goods, especially basic products. When a new product is introduced, it is usually available in small quantities and disappears from the shelves completely after a few weeks. The quality of the meat is simply terrible, the fruit is stale, and more than once I have bought something that was before its expiration date and was already spoiled after opening. I don't know who the manager is in this store, but he should consider changing his job, because the level of customer service is poor and disappointing.

I ordered a clothes airer at George home and waiting to collect on 5/10 at Asda Stepney, and it says there has been a delay but I placed the order on 24/9. I called the customer service and wanted to get a refund. 10 minutes on the line and no one answered. I just want a refund, order number: 118767863.

I think asda is great in general- the rewards system is really good and it's much more reasonably priced than other places. This one specifically has a really weird, claustrophic layout that is difficult to navigate, and is very often out of stock on many things (suppose that's not their fault necessarily). The worst thing is tho that they pretty much never have any checkouts open - it's only ever self checkouts. This makes it difficult both if you have a big shop and if you just want to buy a few things because the self checkouts are full of people piling trolleyloads on the tiny platforms. Wish they would just open the tills!

The store itself is ok but nothing special; but I suggest you don't use it as a click and collect location as I foolishly did last month.Following text for another review site:"I have used George at Asda to purchase things in the past and things went smoothly; this wasn't the case this time around. I ordered an item for pickup costing about £200 at an Asda store and on the day received the notification for the pickup. When I got to the store the person looked for the item and eventually returned with a large empty plastic box - which wasn't what I ordered. The person took the plastic box back and few minutes later I received a 'thank you for returning your item, your money will be refunded within 10 days' email. To be on the safer when I got back home, I telephoned and emailed customer services asking for my money back and explaining what had happened. (You don't seem to be able to email customer services any more and have to wait in the long telephone queue - another new black mark for Asda.)No money was refunded; but 9 days later I got an email from customer services asking me for a picture of the plastic box. I explained I couldn't send a picture as I never had the plastic box and it was left at the Asda store on the pickup day - as I had previously explained to them - and the box should be now somewhere in the Asda returns system; since then I have heard nothing else and no money was returned to me.It seems to me that either the item was stolen before delivery or the plastic box was delivered by mistake. The fact that the plastic box seems now to have disappeared as well leads me to suspect the former. When I finally get my money back, it will be a long time and perhaps never before I use George at Asda again."

This is far the worst supermarket I have ever been to. No tolls are ever open and self checkout queue is so long, it?s a small store anyway but the queue goes all the way back to the isle to it?s hard to shop. The management are to blame not the staff they can only do what the manager say. traumatic experience.

Absolutely big No No! rude stuff on collection counter i opose the manners haw she spick to me ( lady in glasses ) then beean attack by her colleague black guy and his behaviour was racists towards me.. well coz obviously i wasn't irrelevant in his ayes nothing just qeer. Menager himself ( had privilege to have an encounter with him Abdulach himself) . Hi, has zero respect if you are white and gay no music like in other stores. No thanks. ?

The staff need more support they're doing their best. However such low staffing numbers is having a detrimental impact on the service being provided. Shama was on her own this morning & had to not only get online orders, but also man the collection point, answer the phone which did not stop ringing & man the kiosk single handedly whilst 5 of us customers had to wait. The security guard stepped in to assist where he could; but ultimately the store needs more staff. Shama was brilliant and helpful but the expectation of Asda, for her to manage so many different tasks on her own is unacceptable. Asda need to do better and support their staff before they experience burnout.

Has everything you would expect from Asda.... onlynone draw back, customer service could be better. When I asked a member of staff to direct me to the correct section, he came across rude and somewhat disconcerting. Real shame as most Asda stores have great customer service

For the love of God don't do click and collect here, you will be waiting minimum 20 min with 3 ppl in front of you, worst customer service ever.Elaborate (Molly): I have done a click and collect on 4 occasions and all of those times I have had to wait for more than 15/20min as your one member of staff behind that kiosk is so overwhelmed, they have to deal with click and collects/general shopping/alcohol and tobacco sales/refunds/exchanges/Uber shopping and god knows what else. I have asked for a manager on numerous occasions and they are never in. I think I can count 3/4 staff members on the whole shop floor, why are you guys being so tight on staff? You make so much profit and yet you stretch it to a point it suffers on customer service. I spoke to your staff who have said they have raised it with management but nothing has been done. You need to sort this out, look at how bad the ratings are for this store. Don't just say sorry do something about it.

Went there with my mother who is immobile and needed help. There was no one at the till, and so we had to use the self check out tills. I also had a pram at the time and was with my little one, there was no one there to help. There was a tall black security guard, very rude and not helpful. He straight away goes you can help and your mum can do scan these products. Little did he know mum was in crutches, and no one was at the main tills. I was appalled with the awful and disgusting behaviour as starts questioning my mums mobility. In what?s right does this give him? His colleague short lady in late 40s and 50s very rude and has no customer service skills. Very rude and wasn?t even willing to be respectful and help. Start saying to move our items as it causing issues I said well we can as no tills open, and we had lot of items.It got to point I had enough and spoke to their assistant store manager, as the security guard was getting aggressive and started giving me looks which didn?t feel comfortable. Funny thing is once the manager came over he seemed to switch and starts helping others? So why not help my mother out in the first place?I get times are tough or they are shortage of staff but no one has right to behave this way, and there also needs to be better management in place in the store. No one deserves this treatment at all. From this day I can honestly say I feel very uncomfortable going there and it shouldn?t even be that way. Surprised how some people get these jobs?My mother had no choice as she needed something urgent, but went in store saying she felt very uncomfortable as the same staff were there and no one was there to help.If anyone could advise how I can put a formal complaint in would be helpful. Stepney Green Asda is a fantastic store that provides excellent service and a wide range of products. The staff is friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. The store is well-organized, making it easy to find what you need. Overall, a top-notch supermarket that I highly recommend.

I visited Asda Stepney green on Friday 24/03/2023, Young female staff looks like half cast, who supervises in self checkout is very very Rude. She has no interest towards her job, doesn?t know customer care I really don?t know how did she got the job. That particular day, i faced her two time, first i was asking her about trolleys she said in the car park but I told her there?s non in the car park. She replied people has taking them home with the shopping what can she do. I took that as joke but after finishing my shopping and went to self checkout. I got my return change from machine as all 5 Pence?s of £0.80 pence. A simple question i have ask her is why is the machine giving me all the 5 pence?s. She went mad, and said what do you want me to do about it. If you don?t like it go shop some where else. I straight way told her that?s rude and you should not answer to customer like that. There was another customer heard her conversation and also said to me she shouldn?t have said that. I asked her where is her Manager and she was pointing to him. When she was showing the the manager I did not took this further reason being nothing will happen because the staff covers each other back. But I have got the right to rate this shop and Review. The store staff needs improving.
