HSBC closed down my local branch with counter service and all I have now within 3 miles of my home is this branch which doesn't even have counter services. It's pathetic.

Went to deposit a cheque Saturday. The bank has only machines and a queue leading to the door. Three stressed out junior staff were trying to placate the queue. After 5 or 6 failed attempts to pay in the cheque I left with the cheque. On Tuesday it goes with me to my building society. They can bank my legacy and I will look for a decent bank

Not helpful, might as well stayed home and talked the machine online.As I have never done international transactions, and this particular one came with 2 different SWIFTs (in instructions) I came to this branch for help.Snappy answers, very direct, I would say rude making you feel stupid while having smile on ladies face.Unless you are 70+ don't bother coming here. They seem to treat elderly with lots of patience and respect which was nice to see, but if you are young or middle aged their tone changes.

Another branch with no counter service. Two or three scruffy HSBC Staff standing behind a podium dealing with banking issues mainly to do with online banking or account queries. There's no counter so you can't cash a cheque - just automated banking machines. Many elderly people can't use these machines and rely on a counter-service. I expect the days of counter-service are numbered. Still, nice easy job for the staff who generally are of a much lower standard than the staff of yesteryear.

Despite the displayed opening hours I went there last Friday 09/07 and the agency was closed because of what seemed to be under works. This opening hours info need to be updated asap.

The branch seems to specialise in digital services. I went in as I had trouble with the app. Got sorted within 5 minutes with no issues and super friendly service. First guy who spotted me was attentive and quickly got someone to look at my issue. Was then passed to a guy called Darren who was jolly and friendly and got my app up and running. Best HSBC branch I've been in, to be honest.
