“My favourite bank in England. (Woolwich branch)I've been away from England for the past few years due to the 2019 COVID pandemic. When I returned I had a few older 20 pound notes.All banks (Lloyd, NatWest, Halifax) and the post office refused to exchange for me because I did not have an account with them.The very kind reception and one of the bank representatives at Santander took the time to hear me out. They kindly checked the notes I had and exchanged them for the new polymer ones which were in use.I want to reach out and thank them both for their empathy and kind "non-customer " Support to me. You Saved me a lot of trouble and I am grateful. I wish other banks could show the same care that you did and if I ever have to open an account in England; The Santander bank will be my choice. Bussiness is business but still have to consider the needs for the community.Especially HSBC nowaday getting a bit down turnsince they were change the direction.Yes company needs profit to keep it going and pleasethe shareholder. But still to need to care about theirstaffs and the community needs..”
