When did it change from closing from 5pm to 4pm on a Sunday? Turned up today at 4:05 and turned away and there were a good stream of people coming in too . Sounds like it wasn't advertised well that they now close at 4pm...

Really nice and pleasant store to use. The staff are friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for....

Disastrously Disappointing Experience at Tesco Superstore, PurleyIf there were a way to give zero stars, that would be my rating for the bad customer service at this location. Visiting a store shouldn't feel like an exercise in patience and restraint, but that?s exactly what my experience at Tesco Superstore in Purley felt like. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was unwelcoming. The staff appeared indifferent, making it seem like every customer query was a great inconvenience to them. Respect is a fundamental pillar of service, but it appears to have crumbled and fallen by the wayside here. It's lamentable to see such a reputable brand like Tesco displaying a lack of professionalism through their representatives at this location. What bothered me the most was the pervasive sense that they simply do not care about their customers. Every question was met with curt responses, dismissive gestures, or simply being ignored. The disconnect between the values Tesco claims to have and the reality at this Purley branch is vast. One would think that in a world where customer loyalty is more important than ever, stores would be striving to enhance their customer experience. Unfortunately, the Tesco Superstore in Purley seems to be doing the exact opposite. It was not just a bad day; it was a showcase of how not to treat your customers. To those considering shopping here, prepare yourself for a potentially degrading experience. To the management of Tesco Superstore, Purley - your customers deserve better. Please take this as an urgent wake-up call to overhaul your customer service practices.

Good luck trying to find the entrance to the parking! Google maps has no idea and no signs whatsoever. An idiot's design. TESCOS don't care if you have a good experience or not, they are making money.

Tesco make profit yet decide to give new uniform than pay staff or employ more staff. Useless male managers at top hardly seen on shopfloor. Aldi or lidl much better

Huge place with lots of variety. My favorite moment was finding a 4kg rice bag at last after roaming months in various Tesco and Aldi shops!!?

Late night shopping at this branch is far from ideal, and that?s the politest way I can put it. Came in at just before 10pm, and all self service points were closed or closing, leaving one checkout open, for around 20 minutes with a queue stretching back up the entire aisle. Not one checkout runner or team leader seemed to be interested in anything apart from the end of their shift. One member of staff could keep an entire self service section rather than keep 10-12 customers waiting for a single till. Not a good experience at all

Quite a big tesco, used to be my favourite place to do my weekly shop! Lately it has been stressful to go there, traffic and the shop used to be good! So today I wanted to return something and grab a couple things during my lunch hour. When I got there Customer service had atleast 10/11 customers waiting to be served. Only one person serving. About 15mins of queuing just to return one thing. Also these queues are for customer service as well as kiosk for cigarettes and lotto. The shop assistant confirmed they didn?t have enough cover when staff went on leave or offsick. They also had the same issue with the bakery. The machines weren?t working and lack of staff so I couldn?t get my usual bread. They have moved things around upstairs and hot deli has been closed for almost six months now. I still go there as they do have good variety of groceries and plants.

A very big store spread across two levels with an escalator for easy access for wheelchairs and trolleys.Lovely clothes for men, women and children.Big fresh produce section, cheese section, mats section and bakery.Frozen foods is quite vast also and huge choice in alcohol drinks. They have a cash machine outside.Big car park but does get packed over the festive period.Petrol garage on site too.Trolleys for babies, toddlers and wheelchair users available but make sure you have a pound to release the chain.Overall a good store with lots of products and options to choose from.

Definitely a great help but disappointed at the change of hours to not trade 24hrs* there are many night workers disappointed no being able to go to you for their break and cutting people hours down too. This is one of the reasons why I give it 3*.The second reason is due to I have given positive feedback about many of the staff members and have now found out many of them have not received it months down the line! :/ This is appalling!! So I written this today in the public domain to please pass my positive feedback to the staff members.I was told that the team does NOT look on any sites except for internal feedback which is unacceptable as google, trustpilot etc have many more mainstream users for the community so in my opinion it's better to view both. The great employees I have encountered consistently (but not limited to) are :Mercy, Agness, Imdumathy - SCOAnthony - FRESH/FROZENAgness - SCOMEDA - TilllsMo* - Shop Floor - AMBIENT/FRESHHopefully they are still working in the company, I have been while. All of the staff mentioned have been a well respected and a consistent contribution to your business. Collectively they exude a wealth of experience and are grounded people. I personally witnessed some of them go through some difficult situations whever it came to customers stealing bags or just aggressive behaviour because their items needed to checked due to the auto scan and shop prompt they have been positive in delivering customer service. The staff on the shopfloor are ultra efficient and readily available to deal with queries. I almost sliced my finger on a frozen door handle so Anthony even contacted his management to get a replacement handle. This easily could of been a lawsuit. Please give this recognition to them directly or the relavent managers which I believe are: Alistair and Tracy or the Store manager Simon. Whever it be a "lunch on us voucher", gift card or letter they deserve to be told.Kind RegardsJonathan

My family member bought a tomato plant for £2.50 in Tesco Extra April 2023 and after one week it did not look healthy so I returned it to Customer Service and the staff Rachel quickly gave me a refund because the same tomato variety was no longer in store. However, I bought a tomato plant from Surrey Street market and it is still alive.

A good place to buy your weekly food shop, some staff are friendly and some are extremely rude! Lots of car parking spots but they have stupid amounts of speed humps.

Last place on earth you want to be late at night. Drunk threatening customers. On the whole rude staff besides one pleasant shelf stacker doing drinks I can think of (perhaps they're defensive because of these drunks). Threatening homeless people harrasing people near the entrance telling me to get £10 out of the ATM cos I had no change. Will never go again after dark.

I really love the Tesco extra, you have plenty of options available to buy ? you have even clothing on the upper floor and a Costa coffee. It's very spacious, and you can find almost everything you need for groceries. Even after COVID-19, it is open again 24 hours, so it is very handy if you need something urgent to buy.
