Basic hotel with good location. Good bar!
March 2024 by Rodger Deyn
This evening I attended the Hotel?s Meet the New Cresta Team where guests old and new could mingle with a complimentary drink and Canapés which were unique, exquisitely designed and delicious. The atmosphere in the Lounge Bar, where the event was held, never fails to please with tasteful attractive decor which is modern and attractive, welcoming and relaxing plus a great way to immediately destress from work pressures while being able to continue to work via the free Wi-Fi with a well made tasty coffee or even a cheeky little tipple. The Cresta Court Hotel has been established for over 50 years and throughout half a century of much experience has fine tuned its hospitality skills and standards of customer care for which its 3 Star rating is too low and insufficient. The Hotel is the most superior in the area and due to it not being as vast in size as its 5 star competitors provides a warm, friendly, mindful personal service which could never be equaled by larger hotels due to the size diminishing their capability of being able to provide the same standard and level of customer service. This is based on the universal business major deficiency principle that there is a direct correlation between size of operation and reduction in standards of customer service. The bigger a business becomes the more that a customer becomes just a number on a spreadsheet or a profit generating biological being.I had the pleasure of meeting Angela, the Sales Manager, who was friendly, knowledgeable and informative about my staff?s continuing accommodation requirements. My company requires flexible quality accommodation and we have found, over the years, that they have been very happy with the hotel?s overall provision.A couple of my staff commented recently how impressed they were with the lunch and evening menu?s variety, high quality and value for money and that it was as good as restaurants charging much more.Rooms: Comfortable, attractively decorated, fully equipped with all necessities, quiet and very relaxing.Walkability: Very near to town centre with access to Greater Manchester Tram and Bus Network.20 minutes drive from Manchester Airport.Food & drinks: High quality, as good as places charging much more.Noteworthy details: See above review.

I stayed here on a Monday night and everything seemed OK until a coach turned up ,Containing a group of American kids whom run up and down the corridors and slammed doors up until 2300 when I had to knock on my neighbours door and ask them to keep it down,Great if you don't want to sleep !

I had a clean and comfortable stay in room 141, and enjoyed an evening meal at the restaurant. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, with special recognition to the hardworking bar and restaurant staff.

Rooms: Rooms are tired and a bit grubby. Comfy clean bed though.Food & drinks: Large scale catering was poor. Beef like shoe leather and massively over sweet creme brulee.

My wife and I stayed here with our 3 year old and the dog to see family members February 23- 25 2024. We stayed in room 146.The parking is okay, spaces are very small but there is ample parking. I do think the hotel should probably sort out the old fashioned parking spaces as they aren?t really suitable but that?s another matter!A nice little dog water bowl at entry with some biscuits, I thought it was a nice touch and a very clean area. The staff were very friendly, well presented and professional. The bar area and foyer very clean. There is a lift or option of stairs. Both fine. Finding our room was easy and the key cards worked first time. The back of the door upon entry to the rooms was a bit grubby and needs painting. As we entered the room we were happy. The bathroom was very clean. Shower was okay. (Shampoos and bath gels provided) The carpet was decent. Bed looked very comfy and clean the furnishings in the room were all in good condition. We had a sofa bed which was folded out to a double. It was fine, not the most comfortable thing in the word but served its purpose. The tele was a good size but lacked channels. The WiFi was very good no issues there at all. There was a kettle, two cups with spoons a kettle and a coffee machine with some pods. The room had a hair dryer a wardrobe with hangers and a little dressing table. Inside the wardrobe was a fan and a safe. The rooms do get very hot! That?s with no heating on. ( couldn?t see any air con in our room) There is some minor noise from the road however it?s not an issue. The town is centre was a 5 minute walk. There is a park which is 5 minutes away from the hotel with a children?s park and plenty of space away from the road to walk your dog if needed. We had a slight issue with children on a school trip being extremely noisy over two nights however once reception were aware they dealt with this really quickly.Local transport links into Manchester are very close by and plenty of places to eat out if needed close by. Would definitely use this hotel again in the future.

Can't review the room as we didn't stay

What a dump. Room was freezing, tv did not work, despite paying for food in advance restaurant was closed, bed rock hard, great staff let down by whoever owns ?Best? Western. Ridiculously expensive for what it is. Will avoid BW at all costs and suggest you do as well. Go for a Premier Inn instead, at least the beds will be

Used the hotel as an overnight stopover before travelling. Have stayed at the hotel several times in the past. Food is always good would recommend as a place to stay.Rooms: Rooms are adequate, although a little dated

Just an absolute bunch of idiots, got no response when u emailed about booking a room then they lost my booking. Then after staying I've received a fine for using their car park. Even though I signed immediately vehicle in.After appealing the fine they've said there's nothing they can do as the car park is run by a separate company. Qbsolutly ridiculous. So after paying another £25 "administration fee" to get them to sort it out I figured that was that. Not so I've just received a letter from a debt recovery firm as the outstanding amount still hasn't been paid.Hours of my life I've lost to this saga. The hotel are absolutly no help whatsoever.

Booked a single overnight stay plus airport transfer as the flight was early. Plenty of car parking. The room was tired, stains on the carpet, curtains and chair. Toilet also made a banging noise when cistern filled. We also had someone enter our room who had been allocated the same room as us! Mattress was awful and made a terrible noise as you moved in bed.The airport transfer in the morning did not turn up after half an hour. The cab company claimed nothing had been booked by the hotel. The receptionist was then arguing with the company repeatedly and making calls back to them asking for a supervisor. She mentioned they had lots of issues with them?We had to drive and park at the busy Manchester airport ourselves making us very late for our flight. Luckily we made it. We had a nice charge of £348 on our return. I had to constantly pressure the hotel to get our money back which happened after 10 days.We were refunded the hotel car park and transfer. I would have hoped the hotel would have waived the room also as a goodwill gesture but nothing happened. The breakfast was about the only good thing there. Altrincham was ok also.Beware about booking a transfer as it may not turn up. I would not recommend staying here.

Hotel room was shabby. Limescale stains in and around the bath. There was a bad smell in the bathroom (wasn't us!)Room was tiny and really not value for money at all. No blinds on the window, which meant open the curtains and because youre on a main road youre in full view of traffic and the corporate building opposite. There are better hotels around I believe.Noteworthy details: Stay somewhere else

Great location and facilities onsite. I was there for a meeting with work, so I didn't stay, but I had a well-kept, well-poured half pint of Brixton ale before leaving. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for one night so we could attend a funeral locally the following day. We got a good deal booking direct with Best Western - a comfortable double room with free breakfast included. On site car parking at no extra charge was ideal. Check - in and out was very smooth and reception staff were very customer focused. Full English breakfast/ cereals/ pastries etc. all freshly prepared and served buffet - style.Rooms: Clean and comfortable double room with en- suite bathroom. The only slight negative was the over bath shower with waterproof shower curtain. A walk in shower or shower cubicle would have been preferable.Walkability: Hotel very well positioned for short walk into Altrincham town centre. Good selection of shops/bars/ restaurants/ cafes etc.

Room was very comfortable and the main hotel is stylishly decorated. Staff are friendly and the breakfast very good indeed. The room was rather warm (it's December to be fair) but otherwise very pleasant.
