I visted here today (Friday 12th Jan) having been here before on numerous occasions. As Spoons go, this place can be hit & miss, particularly where real ale is concerned. Personally they have too many generic types for me & not enough locally sourced brews. That said, those on offer are usually of good condition. The pub generally is looking a little tired, stained carpets, with a few tatty tables etc, the toilets too are reflecting a similar feel. Ok, It's not dirty, but a make over wouldn't go a miss. I had the fish & chips today, which I have to say was one of the best ive ever had. This is my second sampling of this dish & on the previous occasion it was as equally good.

Very slow service and no apology. Order was wrong as one breakfast was missing an egg. The other breakfast?s eggs were rock hard. Beans cold. Toast wasn?t toast, but very slightly warmed bread. I know Wetherspoons is not meant to be the Ritz, but every other breakfast I?ve ever had in a ?Spoons has been fine. This was just grim.

it was Christmas eve and 8 of us went for brunch before we went to cinema 3 of us had the full breakfast which was ok but barely warm the refill coffee and tea good value the other food was ok but again barely

The mixed grill was terrible, I've never had so much grizzle and fat in my whole experience in there. I understand its discounted slighly but that qas very poor. Didnt want to say anything on this occasion.

Very nice spoons with usual food choice of great wines and beers. Didn't try the food. Lovely atmosphere with lots of folks enjoying early evening drinks. Friendly efficient staff.

On Sunday 19/11/23 about 15.10 pm I ordered gourmet sirloin with pepper sauce and surf and turfed up with side order of scampi. Had pint of Abbott ale as my drink. Ordered from table thru app. Had to fetch beer off bar myself could see it sitting there for 15 mins. Meal came, no peppercorn sauce after nearly 10 mins and waitress busy chatting to a girl at one of tables nearby. This was clearly a chat between friends not waitress to customer. Again had to go to bar and ask barman to escalate issue. Sauce came food was now luke warm not hot. Been here few times in past, service and food bang on. Way off it today I'm afraid.

Me and my lads have been here 3 years on the row for our Christmas meal , this year will be our last we had an issue with the doorman and the lady manager was completely rude to me and my friends even tried kicking us out and boxing all the food we ordered we was a party of 20 and she tried to cause trouble , man thanks to Alex and cally on the bar for all there help they are really passionate about there job and helped accordingly such a shame to see a spoons ran so poorly when we spend good money in there every year

Oh mark mark mark the arrogant brain dead manager who made my teeth itch by telling bare face lies after bringing me the wrong food!!! Then he makes things up on his own chest worn camera (brain dead) ? soon shut up when he was made to look silly infront of his own staff and all the customers. Pathetic. And to top it all he had sweat all over his forehead.Wrecked my meal with my son and missus by lying to our faces.About as bright as an eclipse.

Came for breakfast after dropping parents at airport. Ordered traditional breakfast and pancakes with syrup. The whole meal was cold. I couldn't even cut the pancakes they were that hard. Wont be going back again.

Royally messed up our vegan breakfast, my mate was very disappointed because we were catching up after 12 years and it was bobbins brekkie. Nice Guiness tho.Vegetarian options: The spaffed up the two orders.

It's okay I guess. Food is decently sized for the price but the cost of drinks is slowly creeping up. Never seem to have basic amenities available such as straws. I can't comment much on the service as the staff seemed happy to drop off at your table and run without asking if everything is okay or if we need anything.
