I dont know what Roger EZ is talking about, the lady behind the counter is lovely, very helpful, friendly and very efficent ,the other members of staff are equally very friendly and helpful,as far as her glasses are concerned all spectacles slip down your nose and you naturally look over the top of them,I do anyway.

I try and avoid this Post Office and only go when passing. The woman behind the counter is really very difficult to like. Overly officious to the point of annoyance, yet her line of questioning varies considerably from customer to customer. She stares at you over the top of her glasses as if you were lucky to even have her attention. Very pushy on sales and tries to extract the most out of each and every customer on postage and will also try and sell you a range of top up cards with a monologue that is well rehearsed. If you looking for customer service, good advice, value for money and a friendly approach there are better options locally. It's got to be the worst "Post Office Experience" nationwide. The retirement party will be a blast.

Horrible experience every time I've been. Nobody wears masks and the service is terrible. I had to repackage my parcel up until the item inside was all ripped because it didnt fit the measurer, when in reality it was only because of the way it was being pulled through which was causing an air pocket in the polyethene packaging. Previous times have been equally unpleasant, there is a woman server who will try to pry into what you are posting even when it is quite clearly labelled as confidential. There is no consistent closing time, they seem to just close at whatever time they wish. I have recently set up an online business and would like the convenience of posting locally but I will be travelling slightly further and posting my orders elsewhere from now on. AVOID.

Brilliant post office with lovely, efficient and helpful staff. Nice range of cards, wrapping and general stationery too!

Watch that you don't get overcharged for items of postage. The Royal Mail websit seems to provide all general rules, so it is best to check before being advised otherwise and then overcharged.

Rude service at the post office. Customer service training needed! Also the lady was mopping up whilst customers were there. Hazard and claim spring to mind!

I've been a customer of Denise's for nearly twenty years now, and the service is always impeccable.

Good little post office. In exchange for money they sent a parcel where I wanted it to go. Amazing how technology is progressing.

The worst advice I have ever received. We went in to purchase more dollars for a holiday and were advised by the lady behind the counter that it would be safer to purchase post office money cards. The result is that we were robbed by the Post office. I wish I would have insisted on the cash as we are now over £150 down and I could have sold the dollars back at a profit.
Here is my letter to post office card people.
YOU ROBBED US.
--------------------
Hello Post Office,
As you can see by the title of this mail I am a very unhappy customer.
My wife and I purchased 2 travel money cards at Oldfield Brow Post Office, Altrincham on the recommendation of the lady behind the counter. We put £750 on each, purchased some cash in US and Barbadian dollars, and a couple of days later went away on holiday. We were told if we did not spend the money that we could get it back
My wife did not use hers so had $1,125 on return and I returned with a balance of $453.
We went back to the post office a few days after we got back to get our money and were told that we needed to ring customer services. We did this today and spoke to David who dealt with this for us and told me that I would be emailed a bar code and told my my wife that she would be sent a cheque. When my wife came off the phone she realised that the sum David quoted was over £100 pounds below what she put on the card. She rang David back to check and he told her that was the exchange rate.
My wife was told that she would be sent a cheque for £639.20 - THAT IS OUTRAGEOUS. You have basically sold her a service she did not use and then charged her £110.80 for the privilege and a bit of plastic.
My wife's name is Gaynor H-----, our postcode is ---- --- and the last 4 digits of her card are ----.
I had no idea what was on my card when I spoke to David, but it turns out my balance is $453.44 and I am sure that the same criminal exchange rate will apply.
My name is Andrew H-----, our postcode is ---- --- and the last 4 digits of my card are ----.
So here's the thing:
- We were never told that you would charge a ridiculous percentage at the post office when we purchased the cards and while we expected a small charge for the transaction were not expecting to be totally ripped off.
- We are not happy with the amount of money you will be returning and what you are keeping without our prior consent.
- I will be taking this as far as I need to to make sure that people who buy these cards know what they are getting into including making a complaint at the post office that we bought them from.
I expect you to get back to me to apologise and with a much better figure concerning the money you will be returning. I really can't believe that The Post Office considers this reasonable and acceptable business practice. I foolishly trusted your organisation to treat my wife and I fairly as I stupidly still think of you as a British institution to be admired. If we had not been sold the cards I would have taken cash and chanced being robbed. It seems that you have robbed me anyway whilst pretending that your card was a 'safer' option which it turns out it isn't. It's a rip off.
I am furious and disgusted. Please sort this out quickly.
