I had an eye test here for the renewal of a Class 2 medical. It revealed a significant change in my prescription, so I had my glasses re-glazed (elsewhere). The new lenses were terrible, really blurry. I complained to the seller, who apologised and re-made the lenses. Still awful. The reason? The prescription from Boots was miles out. A pretty basic failing for an optician I think!

So I don?t actually think I?ve ever left a negative review before so it clearly takes a LOT to set me off for a start!I?ve been trying to get the correct prescription for ten months now. I had 3 appointments that I was told were scheduled only to turn up and find out the were either telephone consultations or that they weren?t even on the system. I ended up having a telephone consultation with an optometrist who was in a room 3 metres away?! On two occasions lenses were said to have been ordered and they weren?t, causing me to have to call and chase up. Finally got a new pair of glasses that were so uncomfortable I couldn?t wear them, took them in to be adjusted, they did a bit and they were still digging into my head and they said ?sorry you?ll just have to wear them in.?I was told to go on the reward scheme to get half off my glasses (great right?) so I was waiting until my lens prescription was correct only to then be told I?d have to be on the scheme for 3 months before I could Then get new (comfortable!) glasses. My contact lens prescription is still not correct, and I decided to call Head Office to explain the situation as I felt they should give me a discount or gesture of goodwill- just Something to make up for all the mistakes. I rang the branch to check on my lenses- only to find they had been put ON HOLD because I?d had the audacity to make a complaint. The manager refused to uphold the discount and gesture given to me by head office, instead only offering 10% off my glasses.Ended up in tears in the reception because my prescription (for those who understand) is almost -6. Still can?t see. Still don?t have glasses that fit. Still don?t have correct lenses. Fuming doesn?t even cover it.

I'm currently on a contac lens trial that should be free according to head office. But they have charged me £35 .I thought it was a bit odd at the time but never questioned it.I shall be going back for a refund..

I could have give them 0 star if it is possible. My wife has booked a contact lenses trial appointment with them and when they booked the appointment they never mentioned that the appointment charges. When my wife turned up for the appointment the staff insisted that it charges £35 and even if my wife decided to skip the appointment it is still chargeable because the appointment is already booked. They explained their terms and conditions about why they charge for contact lenses trial appointment, but they never stated any of those terms and conditions while my wife booked the appointment with them through phone call.We wouldn't recommend anyone use their service.

BRAMHALL BOOTS OPTICIANS.Two years ago i splashed out £550 for some titanium framed varifocal glasses. For that price I expected the glasses to be of high quality.A screw holding the right hand lens constantly came loose after about a year.Yesterday (Fri 16.7.21), a screw holding the left lens snapped, leaving the lens loosely clinging on for dear life.I went to said Boots Opticians Bramhall, to be told the guarantee lasted only one year.Could they help as I was a customer there? Well, you can buy a new pair of glasses!I have never had glasses simply break after only 2 years, normally the glasses outlast the change in prescription. If you're reading this Boots Opticians, scratch me from your system, I certainly will not be coming back!.TO BE AVOIDED!

I had an eye test at Boots Opticians in Bramhall yesterday. It was my first time visiting there and I was so impressed with the optician George. He was professional, friendly and took his time during the appointment. I could tell that he really enjoys his job and each patient is treated as an individual (not just a number), Would definitely recommend!

This branch of Boots Optician's is a small and narrow shop, so under the current guidelines and in order to provide some sort of service they are operating with a reduced number of staff but not a reduced number of customers. They have currently a locked door policy as they are limited to the number of people (including staff) that they can have on the shop floor. Reduced staff but increasing numbers of customers (due to closing of other Boots Optician's branches in the area) a 3 to 5 month backlog of patients wanting eyetests etc has probably led to an extremely busy branch. Answering the phone will most likely take a lot longer than usual. I would say that as we are all in the same boat at this time and we seem to accept we have to wait for Doctor and Dental appointments the same is true of the Optician. Safety of everyone who enters the shop staff and customers is the priority at the moment and they are endeavouring to provide that.

Why is it that no one picks up the phone at this Boots Optician? It took me 3 hours to get through and whoever picked up the phone (a lady) was not polite. At the appointment, the shop keeper seemed surprisingly nice and the optician optometrist was very professional. He took the time for the eye check up on my daughter and made sure everything was in order.
