Since closing their other Manchester location they have taken on all of the closed gyms clients so whitworth street is now packed all the time, no lockers, no free machines, no mat?s etc. it?s awful

There are weights so you can get a session in. Other than that, very poor atmosphere.

Can't go wrong with the price. Sauna, steam, good gym equipment. Top gym

Good day. Still could not escape the stalkers. Wish they had a life other than destroying mine. Not guilty, but the ring needs to keep its cover by trolling me.

100% not recommended. The receptionist staff was absolutely not helpfully and did not even try to help you with any thing. In addition, if you decided to cancel your membership (even if it's a monthly one) you had to cancel it 30 days in advance, so chances are they are still going to benefit from your extra last month.

Only people rating this higher than a star are people used to dirty conditions. Pool area is disgusting, gum next to the water fountain (hasnt been cleaned as im typing this) that hasnt been cleaned in weeks, people take their water bottles they had on the gym floor into the pool and leave wrappers on the floor. The walls and ceiling around the pool area looks like it has loose bricks. Gym is dirty, people leave food wrappers on the treadmills. Gym isn't a real gym, it lacks equipment and if you want a real gym puregym is cheaper with more equipment they just dont have a steamroom. If any other gym had a steamroom for the same price or slightly more I'd happily go there, these gyms are "fake luxury", the people that use these gyms are dirty and the layout of the gym itself makes no sense. If you only want to join for the classes or a light workout, it'll do but there's still far better gyms out there, they just dont have steamrooms

Just got a 12 month membership- can?t use free guess passes have to give 24hr notice but I can pay £15 to wavier that rule! Utter joke. upon arrive the receptionist malwinja was incredibly rude and unprofessional just speaking to her I wanted to just cancel my membership there n then. Got in the equipment is out of date. The changing rooms smells like human waste completely unclean and unhygienic. Really really shocked at this gym! Just to make it worse the free Wi-Fi they have is restricted so it?s basically useless. Do not go

I have been coming to this gym for around a year and a half. The staff are are friendly and help with any issues you have. The gym is well maintained and has a good range of gym equipment as well as full access to a pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub.I have not personally attended the classes but they run regularly and are included in the membership. It is quite busy in the evening during peak hours, however, this is the same for any gym. The switch from disposable wipes to blue roll to disinfect equipment means far fewer people clean equipment after themselves but I assume it is a cost saving measure during high energy prices, etc.I would recommend this gym.

I really like this gym, the staff are really friendly and the studio is often free for my own workouts.I have also been to the spa at their Quay st branch and that was fantastic. Wide range of treatments and product?s available. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.I love the pool at this location. It has a chill atmosphere and is always lovely and warm. There is also a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi which are all fantastic and comfortable to relax in.There are many classes available and I would prefer more though! Especially on the weekend it?s very slim pickings. The instructors are always friendly and able to coach you through the exercises and equipment. My fav gym in town

Horrible customer service. The reception lady tonight was RUDE, she didn't care to look at the person speaking to and didn't care to listen, cut in and read out gym policy. I came to the gym without knowing that folding bikes aren't allowed inside so I tried to politely ask her to do me a favour to keep my folding bike (small enough to fit in at the reception and won't harm anyone working there) since I forgot my lock but what came about is her cutting in, reading out gym policy and threatening that her job is on the line for this. Hence, had to return home without workout. I believe her job is to be (or at least try to be) helpful to customers and bring best customer experience at the gym not just to keep out bikes. Not trying to generalise every staff, there were some of them who cared to be helpful in other occasions.

This is the better Bannatynes in Manchester. It's smaller than the one on Quay Street and does get fairly busy at times. But it has everything I need from a gym and a lovely pool & sauna section, with jacuzzi. The membership is reasonably priced. The place is clean and the staff are helpful. A minus is that there is always something broken there. When one thing gets fixed, another seems to break. I think this is due to keeping the costs of facilities low and selling a large number of memberships. Overall good value for your money.

Filthy gym, changing rooms, pool and showers. (Worms in the women?s shower, lots of fruit flys in the pool drains )I was a member for around 7 months and have left due to membership price increasing over the months but facilities, cleanliness and overall gym experience deteriorating.Awful facilities for anyone wanting to strength train: one squat rack, one smith machine, one set of each barbell for the entire gym, no free weight section to set up something like hip thrust etc.The building: the basement floor is uneven and constantly leaking? Three flights of stairs no wheelchair access.Cancelled my direct debit with a months notice and they?re now asking me to pay for another month, and now not engaging with my emails to customer service to try and sort this out.Overcrowded, dirty and nowhere near worth the money they want to charge you.

Generally the staff here are fine and of a hardworking tacit nature, especially the foreign smaller black man and woman. They are always cleaning the showers and hall room, polite with a hardworking nature. But there is one taller black employee here who loves to disturb people when they're working out which is unprofessional. I believe he is not well adjusted to working professional society, he seems more concerned with self entertainment rather than actual working, by watching people in the poolside, speaking to people on the treadmills, speaking to 18 years old kids in a circular structure similar to a playground setting, getting involved in the hall activities with clients who are part of a scheduled class, during the class. I would advise this gym to consider reviewing his performance, so he can learn and improve himself going forward. By allowing his behaviour to continue, the gym is discrediting both the gym reputation itself and the personal development of the employee; when they finally decide to move on from here into their next job.

Pool, steam room, changing room and shower area cleanliness has deteriorated since I joined in Jan. Black mould growing all over the place.
