Staff are very slow on the counter , no body is there to help or speed up the service, even if drop in bags only!!! Very hot and very unpleasant atmosphere:(

The service could have been better.
I came today to finish my application for the debit card in store. I used both of the letters from my utility companies - the first one was my previous supplier and the second letter was from the current. The assistant declined both of these letters even if all the information was correct and stated that I must bring the actual bill. I replied back that all my bills are in the electronic format and I could have printed them from my account, but the assistant rudely replied that it must be only requested from the utility supplier which makes the whole process a lot more complicated and long. I would have understood better and left the store in a more pleasant mood if the assistant was less blunt and tried to explain to me more why this rule is in place, because during the online application it is not stated clearly that only the utility bill must be provided. This encounter has upset me greatly. I left the store, feeling like this person is clearly not bothered for me to become one of his clients.

Me and my husband took time off work to change a current account into a joint account. We provided all the documents necessary and were told we would receive the card and additional documents within 3-5 working days. 2+ weeks on we have received nothing!!! I've called twice now and had no movement on this matter at all! I was told I would need to visit the branch again, meaning more time off work!
We've just applied for a mortgage with Barclays and we use all your facilities from insurances to tech pack fees to blue rewards and more! Being a loyal customer for years I did not expect such bad service. So let down!

I've opened an account with Barclays a few months ago and since then my experience with them has been preposterous! Every time I visited the branch or tried to speak to someone on the phone the customer service has been utterly ridiculous. I requested a closing statement of my account and still not sure when I'll get a copy of this. We're trying to buy a house and their incompetence may cost us our house! Just to name a few: I was in one of their branches last week and they kept sending me to different floors to close my account and no-one knew how or where I could get this done; I have then called them and they advised that they can't help and I need to visit a branch. Their staff lack training and any customer service skills. I just don't understand how this is acceptable!
