Upon moving to Manchester for a position at The University of Manchester, I opted for this hotel due to its convenient location near the university. My two-week stay here was smooth and hassle-free. I opted for the unlimited breakfast, which was comprehensive and included all essential items. The room provided was satisfactory, meeting all my expectations. Based on my experience, I would endorse this hotel to others.

Lovely and greeting staff at reception. Fair car park rate. Easy location. Missed bottles of potable drinking water in room and free WiFi. Delicious breakfast in morning.

The rooms are very good, the receptionists are very friendly, they don't speak Spanish at all, the only bad thing is that they don't clean the rooms and if you put up a little sign they will replace your towels and toilet paper, but if you ask for itFood & drinks: They don't serve food at midday, English breakfast, nothing out of there and until 5 o'clock they don't bring you anything other than a pre-made dish, that I didn't really like that much.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Travelodge Upper Brook Street in Manchester, and my experience was a mix of positives and negatives that warrant consideration.**Pros:**1. **Great Location:**The hotel boasts a prime location, strategically positioned for easy access to key attractions, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers.2. **Affordable Parking:**One standout feature is the reasonably priced parking at just £5 for a 24-hour period, providing guests with a cost-effective and secure option for their vehicles.3. **Friendly Staff:**The hotel staff exhibited a warm and welcoming demeanor, contributing to a positive atmosphere throughout my stay.4. **Competitive Room Pricing:**Travelodge Upper Brook Street offers competitive pricing for its rooms, making it an attractive choice for those seeking budget-friendly accommodation without compromising on location.5. **Good Mattress:**The quality of the mattresses in the rooms is commendable, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep for guests.**Cons:**1. **Unclean and Small Bathroom:**One notable drawback was the cleanliness and size of the bathroom, which fell short of expectations.2. **Smaller Bedrooms:**The bedrooms appeared notably smaller compared to other Travelodge establishments in Manchester, potentially impacting the overall comfort of the stay.3. **Hygiene Concerns with Shower Curtain:**There was a persistent damp smell from the shower curtain, suggesting a need for more hygienic alternatives such as a glass screen.4. **Limited Amenities:**The absence of an ironing board (available only on request) and the reliance on an iron posed an inconvenience for guests.5. **Lack of Views:**The lack of picturesque views from the window diminished the overall experience for those seeking a more scenic stay.6. **Inconvenient Plug Outlets:**The placement of plug outlets around the room was impractical, with the only viable location being near the desk by the window.7. **Small and Inadequate TV:**The television provided was notably small, rendering it less appealing for entertainment purposes.8. **Kettle Issues:**The kettle in the room had a strange smell and visible limescale, rendering it unsuitable for making a hot drink.9. **Limited Free WiFi:**Offering only 30 minutes of free WiFi in this day and age seems outdated, especially for guests who rely on internet connectivity for work or leisure. In conclusion, while Travelodge Upper Brook Street has some merits, the substantial drawbacks related to cleanliness, room size, amenities, and modern conveniences such as WiFi make it unlikely that I would choose to stay here again. For those who prioritise a more comprehensive and comfortable hotel experience, exploring alternative options within the Travelodge chain might be advisable.

Just went into this travelodge alone for a coffee and some food, on my way to the Manchester past present future Chanel exhibition, as it is the only establishment in the area. The lady on reception asked if I was staying at the hotel, which I wasn?t, she then told me quite abruptly that the bar / cafe is only for guests and wouldn?t serve me. Why advertise your menu outside if this is the case? And the cafe was empty. Can?t understand why you wouldn?t want some extra money and potential future customers or a good word. Very poor service.

Great hotel, perfect for our one night stay. The room was clean and quiet and the food was great. Location is great too, the 02 Apollo is literally 10 min walk away. Ample on site parking too. We?d definitely stay here again.

This Travelodge is my go-to in Manchester, it?s round the corner from Manchester Academy (where I frequently visit for gigs) and has extremely friendly staff. The service is great & the beds are very comfy. The location is perfect if visiting around the area. Only bad thing is that it?s next to a hospital so there might be the one siren every now and again waking you up!

Recently, our family of 5 stayed in the Travelodge in Manchester by the Hospital. We went to see our relative who had been staying there for the last few weeks. The staff was absolutely fantastic. The manager Daniela and her team went the extra mile to ensure that we had everything we needed. The room was nice and tidy and breakfasts were absolutely beautiful. I would be very happy to stay there again and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay in Manchester.

Nice place, short walk from the O2 Apollo which is what we were there for.Staff were really lovely the entire time, explained things enough for me and were helpful with any questions I had. Room was clean, a bit small, but the price comes from the great location and the day you stay so it makes sense.Walkability: It?s on a main road that?s lit up quite well, felt safe walking back to it in the dark.
