Surprisingly large room, very clean with a nice comfy bed. A mini fridge, some glasses (although there were mugs) and more towels and soap would have made it better, there was tea but only one coffee. Only given one key for the two of us, wasn't an issue as a couple but might be annoying if friends are staying. Very good value and the location is great, although if the window was open it was a bit too noisy being on a main road. Overall decent, nothing special but you get what you pay for!Nearby activities: Cinema, pub, restaurants, bowling, arcade, supermarket all super closeWalkability: Really close to the tram stop

A 'manila' hotel that is very reasonably priced, located well for my trip. Importantly it is clean and tidy.

Located on a early closing retail park. Breakfast is in a box, luckily there is a nice cafe around the corner as the attached restaurant does not open till 11. Rooms are old but clean. Bar and restaurant close at 8Pm and the bar closed at 10 so don?t expect late food. But not surprised as there was no one in the bar .Food & drinks: Just a vending machine and tea and instant coffee in the room. Attached restaurant only opens at 11 so no breakfast and closes at 8:30 so no late food.

Great location for shops and there are some good restaurants/cafes only about a mile away.

Stay here was not the best. The beds are not comfortable lumpy springy and neither are the pillows. The worst thing is the key fob and physical key, they give you 1 per room so everyone gets stuck at reception trying to get back in as we were three in the room had to call up and get someone to come down and let me in. Reception desk it seems is hardly ever manned as staff are busy cleaning . They need to employ a full time receptionist. There is no restaurant in the hotel so you can have a cold box breakfast. As for lunch and dinner then use a restaurant nearby or order the food from a takeaway. The staff were very nice and helpful so no complaints there.Just the hotel needs a overhaul as it seems dated.

Clean and comfortable, don't rely on the pub next door for breakfast, they open when they like...

It was a pig to get to traffic was bad. Once in the room there was a leak from the celling and window so I let them know and I was moved to a new room and all good from there.

I chose this place for it's proximity to public transport and friends I'd be meeting, but it's possibly the worst Travelodge I've ever stayed in. The chap at reception was friendly and welcoming, especially when I requested an iron on arrival. It was only when I took it up to my room that I noticed the lid for the water compartment was missing so I had to take care not to scald myself with steam or water. No ironing board in my room, so I improvised with a spare towel over the dressing table.Onto the bathroom floor, I spotted what looked like a bloodstain and another dark mark which turned out to be a ball of someone else's hair, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The bed was comfy and clean, but the room was so cold, despite the thermostat showing 20°, that I had to double up the duvet to stay warm.Night 1 was uneventful, but during Night 2 around 4.30am I was woken by the sound of a drunken lout trying to crash through my bedroom door, presumably having mistaken my room for his. Luckily he soon wandered off, but lit a cigarette so the whole corridor reeked of smoke. He was smart enough to open the windows in the corridor to try and get rid of the smell, but let cold air into all the rooms.I tried contacting reception via the premium rate number I found online. Great if you need to make or amend a booking at that hour, but when I selected the option to speak to a member of staff in the hotel, it rang out unanswered until a recorded message said there was no-one available. Just as well he hadn't broken my door down, caused serious damage, hurt himself or even attacked me. Shame on you, Travelodge, for not having someone on duty to deal with the matter. Shame on you for charging calls at a premium rate when I could have been in danger. Why is there no standard rate number for reception displayed in every room? The next morning, after a minimal amount of sleep, I was in a hurry to meet up with my friends, so I checked out without saying anything, but I will be making a formal written complaint. So, avoid this place like the plague if you value your safety and security. You'd be better off paying double to stay elsewhere.Safety: Zero points for guest safety. My bedroom door didn't feel particularly secure, but I was relieved it didn't break when the idiot crashed into it. No means of contacting night staff without going to reception in my nightclothes as only a premium rate number for contact, but no-one actually answering the phone.

£137 for a nights stay in the most basic room ever. The lady on the morning desk couldn't have been more miserable looking and rude.
