Hello, I've been watching a rerun of a brilliant police series on iPlayer called,Life on Mars. The show is very good in quite a few ways, time travel, the music is brilliant and the location's used. I knew the Church in the background of one show was a church I recognised in Middleton. After checking my Google Maps I found it was :St Leonard's, so I went to have a look. What a lovely little gem it is, built-in the mid 1100's I understand and a wooden church before this stone one. See the photos. I could not go in, it was all locked up. I'm hoping to go again soon and next time try and have a look inside. Special thanks to all who have looked after and loved this wonderful local place of worship.

The atmosphere of this church is an added bonus to the quality services offered to the local area. Quiet reflection, shared prayers there is so much more to say but why not call in and see for yourself.

Fifth-great-grandparents married here, David Wild and Hannah Brierley, on Apr. 4, 1825. They lived on Fir Lane, near Crompton, where he was a cotton weaver.
