The Garden Centre its self is okay but on the other hand the cafe is horrendous. Waited around 15 minutes to get taken to a seat so in the end we just seated ourself . Once seated we were waited 20 minutes to be served and for the table to be cleared from previous customers. Then we got told they stop serving hot food at 3pm even though the website and menu states it?s at 3:30.

Went for a Christmas menu. Bit disappointing not proper turkey but sliced meat like you buy at tesco or similar supermarkets. Very small portion considering the exorbitant price wouldn't recommend you get a better deal at a carvery with proper meat. Most of the food here is OK but definitely avoid the Christmas menu.

I very rarely use the words 'Above & Beyond' these days and it's rare to even hear it said. Today was the exception. We went with friends who live locally and whilst they are frequent visitors, it was our first time. We were greeted into the restaurant by Dave with a very warm welcome and sat at the table with menus to decided what we wanted. I need to be careful with what I choose, as I am awaiting surgery and need to steer clear of certain things, including Gluten. Our server came over, I found out she was called Morgan, and started taking our order. I asked if they had Gluten free bread, which they had, so we placed our order. Morgan was extremely friendly and professional, in a very natural way, but what she did next blew my mind and indeed, the people I was with. She had clearly listened to my requirements, as she came back to tell me that the sausage contained Gluten in the recipe. She had clearly gone away with the order and instead of just being robotic and placing the order with the kitchen, she actively made a point of my needs, hence her return to mention the sausages. I did inform her I was happy with the gluten in the sausages, but she made sure of this by asking me twice, just to make sure I was completely happy. For me, Morgan went Above & Beyond, it was so refreshing and my friends, regular visitors to Garden Centre agreed. The food was great and in general a very relaxing and unassuming place to meet for drinks and/or food. In short, Dave, thank you for the warm welcome. The kitchen staff, thank you for the great food and attention to details. Finally, a massive shout out to Morgan, you went 'Above & Beyond', thank you for being, well, Morgan. Oh, I guess I should thank our dear friends Pat & Annette too, they did introduce us to the place, thank you.

The hot jacket potato was only warm and had a few black patches and the actual filling was cold. I have not been there for a while and will not be going again. Service is also slow and felt extremely sorry for a table nearby who had young children and it took more than 2 hours to be served. Diabolical. Big NO.

On the whole we enjoyed today's visit with our little granddaughter and Cairn Terrier Duncan. The positives - fantastic Christmas displays and stock, and we love that the store is dog friendly! Pleasant staff, a gorgeous selection of hot drinks and reasonably priced food. The cakes are amazing too and my luxury white hot chocolate was yummy - wish it had marshmallows too! The biggest issue for us is the dog friendly cafe. We visited on a cold Autumn day to find every single dog friendly table in the cafe occupied by people without a dog! This meant we were forced to sit outside alone in the cold with our 8 month old grandchild whilst those without a dog sat nice and cosy inside! What a rubbish system! Why not tell people that if someone comes in with a dog, they will have to give up their table and move to the restaurant. That's fair enough, surely? Luckily for us we kept checking and a dog friendly table became available so we quickly grabbed it. All the time we were there, not one dog owner occupied any of the half dozen tables so I appreciate dog visits may be rare, but please accommodate us when we do. The two guys next to us talked boring business blah blah for well over an hour without even a drink, hogging the dog friendly table they had. People are inconsiderate and selfish very often, so Notcutts need to look after us dog owners better. Please sort this out Notcutts, it's an unfair system which disadvantages your dog owning clientele. Especially in the colder months.

Always an enjoyable experience and absolutely love when they have Christmas set out. Great selection of plants and bulbs. We usually eat here but do find it?s very busy so be prepared to wait. The staff are always super friendly and the food is lovely

Fantastic garden centre, especially on the run up to Christmas. The displays and decorations available are just gorgeous. They literally sell everything here. Fantastic plants. Excellent outdoor clothing range inc Regatta, Dare2B and Craghopper ranges. Stunning garden furniture. Excellent cookware, homeware range. Some really beautiful and unusual gift ideas. Jigsaws, children's toys, crafts, Cards, floral arrangements, artificial flowers, leather bags and purses, jewellery. A lovely pets corner with Rabbits, Birds, Hamsters and Guinea pigs available to buy. The outdoor garden area has a huge selection of flowers, plants and trees and some really lovely garden ornaments and obelisks. Once you've had a good look at everything, I highly recommend the cafe/restaurant. Excellent selection and everything is very tasty. Vegan, gluten options available.Excellent disabled access all around the centre and in the cafe plus adequate parking available. It was a really lovely day out for all the family. You won't be disappointed.

The garden centre itself is ok, a little expensive but we've bought various things there over the years and have been happy with the quality. However my bad review is because of the restaurant and the changes they've made to this. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast was mostly inedible which is a shame as they were almost ten pounds each. The vegetarian breakfast comes with two vegan sausages which are the worst I've ever tasted; I had one mouthful and couldn't eat anymore. They've changed these since our previous visit as it used to be a nice place to go for breakfast. The poached eggs tasted like vinegar so inedible. The only thing I could eat was the hash browns and baked beans. At £9.50 per breakfast it was unfortunately an expensive mistake to go there for breakfast and a horrible waste of food.

Visited with my nan to buy a water fountain as a memorial for my grandad to have in the garden. We were supported by a man who I think was called John, absolutely lovely man. We found a water fountain which was in the sale and he was happy to set it up so we could see the demonstration and volunteered to pull the fountain in the trolly to the till and then helped us get it into the car, he even got us some plastic sheets for the back of the car. He made the experience very easy and enjoyable. Thank you John :)
