These are total charlatans, total amateurs havent got a clue by their own admission. Claim to be experts when offering an amount on the item, then took the watch which was in perfect working order, when I go back to collect it its wrapped up but guess what doesn't work. But the cretins inside state now we're not watch experts so it's not their fault but mine. So it goes in a1 comes out damaged. The little man manager comes out with a guitar scenario when pointed out that they sell the watches so know they need light. I'm now going to trading standards. DONOT go here they are rip off merchants try to offer now where near fair price and then ruin it so it worthless.Oh little man shouts you're barred hahaha wouldn't go back there, should off read reviews but thought it was a large company so should have proper staff but hence no. No customer service.

Staying only briefly in Greater Manchester, I needed a bike for just a few weeks and was referred to this branch by GEOFF at Cash Converters in Bury (who was very helpful, thanks!)The shop in Wigan is outstanding: Not only did they have an amazing selection of about 20 bikes on the floor, they also very professionally helped me find the one right for me. PHIL, the manager, graciously let me take multiple test rides without any hassle at all, and if anything didn't seem right with the bike, KEVIN and JORDAN were quick to check it and sort it out. They couldn't have been more helpful - or less pushy. When I realised a bit of a noise coming from the gears about a week later I phoned and they told me to come back in - and again amazed me with their amazing, and very fair service - THANKS, guys, and to Jade too, who was involved upon my return.I realise people in different situations may experience selling, pawning or buying goods at a shop like this from a different perspective, but I didn't notice anyone not getting a friendly welcome, sound, patient advice or a deal they were at least content with. And that was a lot better than I had expected from my first visit to a pawn shop!I don't usually leave reviews, but these people deserve a good one for all the support I received.That said, and to the people who have left less enthusiastic reviews: Please take into account that it is not a charity, but a business. These are people offering a service and making a living; they can't compensate some people's misfortunes, and it's not fair to expect them to.

Bad place don't sell your stuff there .I have cancer told the man I need to sell some of my watches needed the money to fund my treatment. The man there was being rude to me did not care that I had cancer and was suffering in pain and then ended up giving me very less amount of money. So basically he robbed me while I was suffering in pain never again will I enter the Defected place again.

In September I bought a gaming laptop from this store, it had a some cosmetic issues but based on the price I accepted.After a month the hinges cracked and eventually 3 months snapped fully and when I googled it, any forums state the model msi ge63 had this common issues, poor design the cost would be too much as it needed a new chassis. I kept onto it as my son who has Autism loved it, but it really needed to go back.So I rang the store who asked me to bring into store to check out and have a look at options.Upon entering the very rude colleague Geoff Austin said come on Rob let's look at this laptop then, so I handed it to him.Immediately he looked at the corner hinges and said "hmmm just wait here" and took into the back of the store to show his Manager.After 5 mins of waiting as he decided to speak to other customers with the laptop flailing in one hand.He said "sorry nothing I can do" "if I'm being honest with you, you've dropped it"I was shocked so I challenged him saying I'm a liar and it's missing screws in different places etc, I said il speak to the manager Paul.Speaking to Paul I asked why they believed I had dropped it and he looked and told me why allot more calm and I explained that I hadn't at all and that it was on the Internet it being a common issue.By this time the assistant Geoff Austin came over arguing and getting irate and abrupt with me saying he was a pro pc gamer and that "I've handled hundreds of these machines and I'm telling you your wrong"I mentioned I'd take it further to trading standards to which Geoff replied "go on then, it's our decision not yours".At this point Paul told the assistant to go and do some work and was really calm and polite and eventually refunded me.Although Paul was brilliant and resolved the issue, it doesn't excuse Geoffs unprofessional behaviour and was willing to leave me without a solution, just to benefit the store being £320 down.Here is a lesson learned il never ever buy from this store again and would never recommend this store as they often sell faulty goods as they never check them in the first place.I've also known that they quite often give less money for items they wish to purchase themselves to cut costs, knowing that customers feel they have nowhere else to go.

Wouldn't bother dealing with the rip off merchants, don't put a deposit on anything if you change your mind about the item you don't get your money back because they charge 10% of the value of the item to cancel they do not explain this and the paperwork is not clear they quite literally robbed my girlfriend and the manager is so rude he should not be allowed to deal with customers, he is a very rude person. They give rock bottom money for your items and charge top price I took a Wi-Fi hub in a couple of months back they offered £1 then I saw it on sale for £10 and when I pulled them on it they told me it was the wrong price tag but it was still on sale for the same price a week later

When asking him again, he said, "Well buy it from the place where it's £120. or that's the price (149).. I'd charge you 200 !"I have worked in 3 different music shops (PMT, Johnny Roadhouse and Music 90) and if I had treated a customer in such an arrogant way, I would have been made to apologise and put on a disciplinary.As a result of this, I'll take my business and money elsewhere.Very poor and unprofessional

Love this place, im a regular customer. They have some real bargains and their buy back offers the best prices in town. What makes it really special though are the staff... Whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism, they are down to earth, friendly and fun!! They treat every customer as their favorite, and always go that extra mile to make you feel appreciated as a customer. In particular, JEFF, TERRY AND THE GIRL WITH BRIGHT COLORS IN HER HAIR... You make the store what it is, and the rest of the team too but im still learning your names!!
