One of the better chippys in the area. Large fish is massive if you can get one. Service is quick and the staff are pleasant. Recommended. Parking is on the road and can be a challenge.Parking: Parking is on street and can be a challenge at busy times.

As you can tell im not a frequent user .Absolutely gutted ,they no longer do blobs. I had got all excited to think i have found Yates'S The weather was shocking and i got a flash back to hot blobs .We wandered in and waited in a queue .To then be told we dont do them anymore .Gutted was an understatement. Manchester +Yates = Blobs

Very busy pub only 3 on the bar large queues, time to stand looking at their phones though.. Ordered food told it would be half an hour, only to be told after half an hour there was no fish changed order then it was a further 1 hours wait. Food not up to much would have been better going to Mac Donald?s

We visited here in late October on a weekend break from Ireland. This spot had been recommended to me by a friend who visited Manchester in the Summertime, for a bit of grub and a few drinks. The outside looks vibrant and the menu is enticing. But this did not materialise. We went in and waited around for 10 mins to be approached, but nobody came to us. We then sat at an empty table for 10/15mins, and had to approach a staff member to clean it. She only removed the plates, did not clean the sticky table. Two of us queued at the bar, with just two customers ahead of us, for over ten minutes again. We had to use the menus already on the table and had to figure out the online order process alone. It was very frustrating. I suffer from intolerance of certain foods, and could not add any special notes to the order for the chef. The queue at the bar was now huge and we were starving, so I chose something plain from the menu - my own choice. 40 minutes passed and no sign of our food. The tables were filled, but, it was not exceptionally busy to justify this waiting time for a simple chicken burger, especially when our drinks had already arrived after 15 minutes. We approached a staff member, who then queried if we had ordered at all. I told her I could produce email confirmation, and she then went to query it with the kitchen. Our food arrived some ten minutes later, lukewarm and with very few chips. My friend then queried whether we could receive a complimentary drink for this massive waiting time, the server then got his manager who obliged this request, which we did appreciate. For a place with huge potential, this experience was hugely disappointing all round. The food was below average and the service really was poor. The only compliment I can give is that the pints were lovely. We would not return again.

A Marus Bridge institution is 'Lilys'. Been coming here for 35 years and the pie chips n gravy has always been top notch. I drive from Hindley across Wigan There's something that the vinegar does to the gravy that makes it taste better. Always avoided the fish cos it's not by the sea but tried it the other week and it was excellent, fresh and battered perfectly. Love a Lily's.
