Very poor service. Was in pub 10 mins and not one 5 staff on duty that day even spoke to me or my husband. We had a table booked . In the end we just walk out and when somewhere else for lunch

I only found this pub around 5 or 6 years ago and I?m not exactly regular, go about 4 times a year.I?ve been going because they always had the balance right.Feel there?s a definite change here. In essence the hospitality industry is about the balance of price, product and service. I believe there?s a bit of work to get that balance back.

Booked an overnight stay on the way to Devon, when we arrived it was a warm welcome, easy to book in, and just made it in time for dinner.Staff were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. In the hall way were signs encouraging residents to help themselves to water, additional coffee, milk, sugar and Tea.Pet friendly, amazing with doggy beds, water bowls treats in the hall way, all added to that homely feel.Highly recommended place to stay.Rooms: The actual room itself was very clean, well stocked with tea, coffee, with a Nespresso coffee maker, milk, a fridge was very useful and multiple ways to charge mobile phones, laptops and so on. The bed was soft but really comfortable, having a Dyson air cooler was a very nice touch as the covers on the bed were really warm.

Visited the hawk today with friends for a roast, having pre booked a table, waited 15 minutes in the bar area for someone to seat us, despite lots of staff being around and the pub not busy, we felt invisible.Waited an hour for our meals to be served, and it was very good.Disappointed to realise that a 12.5% service charge had been added to our bill. This would certainly influence my return to eat here.I always leave a tip for staff that reflects the service received, I do not, however, expectIt to be added to my bill. The receipt says it is a discretionary service charge, but it can only be discretionary if I'm given the choice.

Food was not worth the money more flavour in a McDonald?s burger than the ultimate burger also tasted a little burnt yet over double the price. Steak wasn?t cooked as requested, was more medium/rare than rare, slaw was absolutely disgusting, corn was burnt on one side. Pub was beautiful, staff were friendly, although no one checked on us to find out if all was okay! We waited a while for our plates to be cleared, we were going to ask for dessert menu however it took too long and no one came to clear plates so just left instead. Wouldn?t go back for food again too overpriced & not worth it.

5Star Private Hire (Andover) recently assisted clients to and from The Hawk Inn. All guests were thoroughly delighted with the overall service received.

Went here for an afternoon beer and a coca cola with our dog.The outside area was very nice with a big field so you can enjoy the sun.The pub was busy but the staff were still quick at serving and attentive.Pint was okay. Coca cola came in a bottle which I always prefer. The 2 were quite expensive but it is a upmarket type pub.We decided to order 2 sticky toffee puddings as a treat. They were £8.50 each and I just didn't really feel like they warranted that. They came with ice cream but the desert itself was just okay.I wouldn't be hurrying back to buy another one.Overall the pub is nice and it has a large outdoor area you can enjoy but the desert we had we felt was overpriced.

We made an unscheduled stop here on our way from the South West to London. The location was excellent and the staff very helpful. The Thai salad that I had was very basic and overpriced consisting of mainly raw chillis and raw onion with a few strips of beef. My partner?s scampi was expensive for frozen chips and scampi. The very helpful waitress tried to help us order a basic cheeseboard as we were still hungry but the kitchen said it wasn?t possible. Overall disappointed

We came here for a father's day meal, after having the restaurant recommended by several people. It was very busy but service was excellent. There was a mistake with our order, but it was quickly rectified and handled very well. The food was excellent, and there was lots to choose from on the menu.Location was very pretty, car parking was a bit difficult, but it was exceptionally busy due to the hot weather and it being father's day, so I suspect most other times it would be fine.I would definitely recommend the Hawk, and will certainly be coming back again.

This is somewhere we have visited regularly over the years and used to speak very highly of.Unfortunately, it has changed. Our party had emailed to confirm availability of a gluten free version of the formerly amazing fish and chips as part of a booking for a birthday celebration. They also checked again on the day via email that this was availabe for the birthday girl. On arrival we were told fish and chips were not available with the waitress suggesting we should have emailed.... not an ideal response when we had.The deserts were very also late and no adjustment to bill made for the mistake or service to address the issues. The quality of service has changed for example spoons for deserts just left at one end of group table not handed out, no table candles. These are all little things but what used to separate it from other pubs. This used to be a real step up on other local pubs and a real gastropub experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case and we all left saying it has changed.

Beautiful spot surrounded by thatched rooves and rolling fields. Has a large outdoor garden in front of the Inn and also a field of tables a cross the road so no lack of seating for sunny days or warm evenings. Stayed here for a few nights and ate in the restaurant each evening and had breakfast too. Food was good and breakfast plentiful and tasty. Nice selection of ales and ciders in both bottle and on draught. Rooms were clean and the addition of a coffee machine and bottles of water was a nice touch. The packs of cookies were also a great welcome. Plenty of plugs for chargers and near the bed so well positioned. Very soft bed and a hot shower. Ironing board and iron also supplied.Rooms: Rooms were clean and the addition of a coffee machine and bottles of water was a nice touch. The packs of cookies were also a great welcome. I was working in the area, and this place was recommended as a good place for lunch. The food was great and the bar person working at lunch was friendly and attentive. It's definitely worth a visit!
